"Get out of the way, you idiot!" shouted a driver in a BMW as he swerved the steering wheel, catching sight of a bicycle speeding past him. He rolled down his window and cursed at the figure riding away.
Then, he paused, a frown crossing his face as he realized something was off. Although the road was congested and his speed was slow, how could a bicycle overtake him?
Lost in thought, he rubbed his eyes, and in that moment of distraction, he crashed into the truck ahead of him. Even at a slow speed, the impact crumpled his bumper.
With a screeching sound, Yang Xiaoyou's bicycle skidded to a halt after sliding nearly ten meters forward, leaving tire marks on the ground. The entire frame groaned under the strain before finally coming to rest, with parts hanging loosely.
Yang Xiaoyou managed to safely step off onto the ground, still clutching the broken handlebar. He ran a hand through his hair in frustration.
"Seriously? It turns out this thing is so fragile. I was told it was a high-end off-road bike," he muttered to himself after letting out a dry laugh. He kicked at the wreckage of his bicycle, grumbling about its poor quality.
Initially, he had ridden it carefully, but as he discovered its performance—well, it was decent enough—he had gotten carried away. With confidence in his control, he pushed the limits and accelerated without concern for others.
However, when it came time to stop, everything fell apart spectacularly.
The commotion attracted quite a crowd at the entrance of Pedestrian Street. Many people pointed and commented on how dangerous such shoddy products could be and expressed relief that no one was hurt.
"Ha! Look who it is! Isn't that the poor kid who was with that Penniless Viscount last time?" someone laughed. "How pathetic! Riding a bike is one thing, but on that piece of junk? Birds of a feather flock together."
Just as Yang Xiaoyou scratched his head, contemplating how to deal with the 'wreckage,' a car horn blared nearby. A black Mercedes S50 slid into a parking space not far behind him.
The driver's window rolled down to reveal a round-faced young man wearing a smug expression—a chubby son of Lord Fu from the restaurant incident. When his father had been present, this fellow had kept quiet and obediently taken Yang Xiaoyou's scolding.
Now, seeing Yang Xiaoyou in such an embarrassing situation filled him with excitement.
The contrast between them was stark; he drove a luxury car worth millions while Yang Xiaoyou struggled with a broken bicycle. He couldn't resist taking advantage of this rare opportunity to gloat.
As he spotted Yang Xiaoyou's Bicycle Wreck perfectly positioned in a parking space, a broad grin spread across his face.
He revved up his car again and slowly drove toward the wreckage while shouting mockingly, "Hurry up and move your junk! You're blocking the road! Or do you plan to park here? Ha! A hundred bucks for half an hour isn't much, but I doubt you can afford it." The chubby young man's face twisted into a sneer as he relished this moment.
The newly constructed Pedestrian Street surrounding the Parking Space is notoriously expensive. The official explanation is that parking here is not recommended to avoid obstructing access. However, sometimes there are unavoidable needs, which is why the parking prices have been raised.
This is precisely why there are available spots in such a prime location.
Now, he continued to push forward, filled with a sense of superiority and arrogance.
As he maneuvered, he slowly directed his car towards the Bicycle Wreck, adjusting the angle to avoid scratching his own vehicle.
There were quite a few onlookers beside him, and most felt displeased with the fat man's arrogant behavior. After all, in this day and age, most ordinary people tend to side with the weaker party. What would they do if they found themselves in a similar situation later?
Although they sympathized with the timid young man, no one wanted to step up. There were indeed many who could afford such a luxury car, but they were not numerous, and it was clear that this was just a spoiled brat, which made things even more troublesome.
Yang Xiaoyou watched as the car slowly advanced towards the Bicycle Wreck and couldn't help but blink. He then turned his head as if to confirm something by glancing at the parking notice beside him.
After feeling around in his pocket, he pulled out a crumpled hundred-dollar bill and, under the puzzled gazes of the nearby crowd, stuffed it into the Parking Meter.
"Ah, even if you start trying to please me now by paying for my parking fee, it's useless. Do you really think I would miss this little amount of money?" Fu Jincai was taken aback when he saw Yang Xiaoyou actually helping him pay for parking. It seemed like he had finally reacted to something; a cold smile appeared on his face as he casually sat in his car, watching the figure outside struggling with the meter.
His heart felt pleased thinking that this fellow was somewhat considerate. Indeed, asking his dad for a new car was necessary; since he was so understanding and gave him face, a little mockery wouldn’t hurt.
However, he soon noticed that this fellow silently tore off the parking ticket and stuck it onto the ground next to the wrecked Bicycle Wreck.
Seeing this action, an uneasy feeling began to creep into Fu Jincai's mind.
Before he could voice his thoughts,
Yang Xiaoyou, having affixed the ticket, gradually broke into a brilliant smile.
“Bang!”
Grabbing the Bicycle Wreck before Fu Jincai could react at all, it was slammed directly onto the pristine car's hood, creating an extremely glaring dent and even causing cracks to appear on the windshield.
Then came another hit.
The fat man, completely awakened by the Second, was now screaming as he quickly reversed his car, terrified that the madman would attack his Beloved Car again. The high-performance vehicle demonstrated its capabilities, starting up quickly even in its battered state.
However, he soon realized that after he had backed away, the other party showed no intention of pursuing or attacking him further. Instead, they leisurely began to tidy up the more shattered remains.
Seeing that the other person had calmed down, Fu Jincai's courage grew. Coupled with the pain and anger over his damaged Beloved Car, he quickly got out of the car and stormed over, shouting, "Look at what you've done! Do you have any idea how much my car is worth? You couldn't afford it even if you sold everything! You're finished; I'm calling the police. I won't settle this privately; I want you to go bankrupt!"
His spittle flew everywhere, evoking a sense of pity from the onlookers for the Tragedy-stricken youth.
"Compensation? Of course, I expect it. My Adi King Limited Edition Bicycle is quite expensive. After I've already paid for parking, you deliberately came over and squeezed in with your car, resulting in this mess. I will report this to the management here; I've noted your License Plate, so you can leave," Yang Xiaoyou said with an innocent expression, seemingly oblivious to Fu Jincai's outrage.
This left Fu Jincai somewhat taken aback; he didn't understand what the other person meant.
"Cough, check the parking regulations yourself. To ensure smooth traffic at intersections, we strictly prohibit occupying parking spaces. If subsequent vehicles enter the parking area of vehicles that arrived first, all consequences and accidents will be the responsibility of the later arrivals. Well, perhaps you doubt the management rules here; then argue with them. All I know is someone has to take responsibility for my bicycle," Yang Xiaoyou said slowly while pointing to a sign.
While Fu Jincai was in a daze, Yang Xiaoyou seemed to mutter to himself, "Not bad at all; just a hundred bucks to smash a Benz. So comfortable! Oh, and I can get reimbursement for my bicycle's damage too."
His voice was just loud enough for everyone nearby to hear.
After a while of understanding what had happened, nearly all of the disgruntled onlookers burst into laughter.
"Haha! Seriously? Who can smash a Benz for just a hundred bucks? I want that too!"
"Exactly! Even if I can't drive it, smashing it once would be fun! Haha, a hundred bucks—I'm dying of laughter!"
"Yeah! Let me think... no matter what car it is, if someone occupies a spot and starts paying while another vehicle crashes in later, all responsibility does indeed fall on the one who came last."
Various mocking voices filled the air as Fu Jincai's face turned red with embarrassment. He opened his mouth but found himself at a loss for words.
He had initially disregarded that wreck as a vehicle but forgot that this Parking Space never imposed restrictions based on vehicle type—only on fees.
No one had ever gone crazy enough to stop like this before, but now he was suddenly taking all the blame upon himself. It was truly a situation that left him feeling helpless.
A hundred bucks? What a joke! It wouldn't even cover a touch-up!
But now, not only was the windshield completely shattered, the entire hood had been smashed to pieces. His brand new car was in this state, and he would definitely face his father's wrath.
Just as Fu Jincai let out a mournful wail, a series of sharp, jarring sounds suddenly erupted from behind him.
Turning around, he discovered that his beloved car was inexplicably shaking, and then it simply collapsed, with the front two wheels rolling away.
How could it have turned out like this from just a couple of hits to the hood?!
While he stood there in shock, Yang Xiaoyou muttered under her breath, "Even if you're driving a knockoff, at least get one of better quality. If it breaks down while driving, it could cost someone their life. Sigh..."
As she spoke, she whistled and strolled into Pedestrian Street, seemingly quite content.
