"Ah, it's the class meeting tomorrow morning. We just came over with your class representative, but Classmate Fang Jinke still hasn't arrived." They had been eating and drinking together, and it was already ten o'clock.
However, that last roommate still hadn't shown up. With the dormitory closing time approaching, Liu Shaoqiang and Yang Xiaoyou, both from the same department, exchanged glances. Meanwhile, Fang Jinke and Wang Xincheng were from the Architecture Department.
The honest guy began to worry about their new roommate, leaving Liu Shaoqiang speechless.
"The dormitory door has closed. Even if he comes later, he won't be able to get in. Let's just lock it," Yang Xiaoyou said, stepping up to play the villain. He glanced at the large bag left on Fang Jinke's empty bed and estimated that their last roommate must come from a well-off family.

Yang Xiaoyou and Wang Xincheng's beds were closest to the door. The honest kid groggily got up to help pull back the bolt.
The newcomer stumbled in, reeking of alcohol and mumbling complaints about how slow it was taking. After making some noise at the sink in the bathroom, he flopped onto his bed.
The careless noise made Yang Xiaoyou, who already had a poor first impression of him, look down on him even more. However, at this point, he couldn't be bothered; with a turn, he quickly fell back asleep.
"Sorry about last night! I hope I didn't disturb you guys too much. That's just how I am; when I drink too much, I lose control a bit," Fang Jinke said after waking up and clearing his head. He was somewhat chubby but overall sturdy-looking and not bad-looking at all. He first apologized to Yang Xiaoyou and the other three.
Although his personality wasn't great, perhaps due to his family background, he seemed to understand when it was appropriate to make amends.
After all, they were all in the same dormitory. Unless something unexpected happened midway, they would have to live together for quite some time. So at least verbally, they all expressed their understanding.
In the end, they split into two groups and headed to their respective classrooms for the class meeting.
Due to unfortunate circumstances in the Archaeology Department, there was only one class for the entire department. The advisor was a young man who had just graduated and notably didn't wear glasses. His name was Huang Shan, and he still carried a hint of youthful exuberance from his student days, making him quite approachable.
Yang Xiaoyou and Liu Shaoqiang sat in a corner of the classroom, observing their thirty or so classmates who mostly looked listless.
It seemed that at least half of them were unwilling participants who had been reassigned here. They probably chose to stay because they couldn't bear to part with East China Jiaotong University’s reputation or wanted to pursue dual degrees through internal processes or transfer departments.
Of course, this would require students to invest significantly more effort during their university years. While it might not be particularly difficult, it would certainly demand serious commitment and would be exhausting.
"That's it. This afternoon, the acting class leader took a few volunteer class committee members to pick up the Military Training Uniform. Hehe. I have to tell you, this session of Military Training is not going to be easy; it's going to be quite intense. I heard that people from a Mercenary company will personally train you, and to help you get used to the intensity, the initial training will also be conducted by special forces veterans. At the end, Huang Shan casually dropped a heavy bombshell.
This immediately drew a chorus of groans from the already unenthusiastic students below.

At this moment, Liu Shaoqiang looked at the other students in the classroom with an expression that seemed vaguely reminiscent of watching children play house.
This attitude seemed somewhat out of place for someone as young as him. It appeared that this fellow had experienced quite a bit already. However, since they had only just met, Yang Xiaoyou didn't bother digging deeper; what needed to be known would eventually come out.
After arriving at the dormitory, the two from the Architecture Department found that Fang Jinke had already arrived ahead of them. At this time, Fang Jinke was displaying a generous demeanor, inviting several people out for lunch and apologizing with his words. At least his attitude was quite good now; even if his first impression was not great, he had salvaged quite a bit.
At least Wang Xincheng, that honest kid, had no objections anymore.
In any case, eating is eating anywhere. Yang Xiaoyou was more than happy to have someone treat him and had no objections. Liu Shaoqiang also chose not to distance himself from the group and agreed as well.

However, considering the timing, it had only come to light recently. As a student, there wouldn't be many who would take the initiative to thoroughly investigate the content of their Military Training. His demeanor suggested that he had passively learned about it.
This was more telling than if he had actively sought out the information; it indicated that this fellow had quite impressive connections and insights.
If it weren't for someone in his family working at Pudong Military Academy or East China Jiaotong University, then his background must be exceptionally strong—strong enough that someone would take the initiative to share such news with him.
