A strange scene unfolded along the Eastern African Coast, where a massive Giant Squid, towering three stories high, was locked in combat with two seemingly unremarkable figures. Yet, these two figures instilled terror in the Giant Squid; it could distinctly sense the immense power emanating from the tall, slender individual. The round, plump figure resembling a meatball was even more fearsome, engulfed in flames as if he were an unquenchable source of fire, spreading Flames to one of the Giant Squid's tentacles.
The Giant Squid let out a long, piercing shriek that echoed far along the Eastern African Coast. Those leisurely enjoying their morning in Corsica were jolted by the terrifying cry of the Giant Squid, sending shivers down their spines. Fortunately, they did not witness this horrifying creature; otherwise, they might have screamed in terror.
"It's Taishan and Fire Dragon! They are Ability Users!" Wu Hao shouted incredulously. He had always believed that apart from their Eight Departments, it was impossible for other places to have Ability Users serving the government. But now he was witnessing two of them, both possessing terrifying combat capabilities.
"What should we do now?" Witerson II asked uncertainly, glancing at Wu Hao. Lin Yi seemed dazed and speechless, his eyes filled with despair.
Wu Hao furrowed his brow. They were currently in a brief period of safety, but they needed to leave immediately. Whether for Lin Yi personally or for the entire Mercenary team's members, they could not abandon their teammate.
Before Wu Hao could respond, Taishan and Fire Dragon suddenly returned to their side while battling the Giant Squid. At that moment, the Giant Squid was relentlessly striking the sea surface with its flaming tentacle, attempting to extinguish the flames that seemed impossible to put out.
"Hmph! My Hellfire is not so easily extinguished!" Fire Dragon grunted heavily, his jowls shaking with the effort.
"What do we do now?" Wu Hao directed the question at Taishan; he genuinely did not know what to do.
Taishan glanced at the struggling Giant Squid and succinctly uttered one word: "Retreat!"
"But we haven't found our Vice Captain; we can't just leave!" Witerson II protested unhappily. He thought to himself that if he had Taishan's abilities, he would have gone to rescue Li Qiweng long ago.
"I can only apologize for not fulfilling my duty to protect Sister Li. But we must retreat now; that Giant Squid is no ordinary creature—it has been infected by the Zombie Virus!" Taishan urged everyone back toward the Minibus.
Upon hearing that the Giant Squid had undergone Corpseification, everyone fell silent. They understood what it meant: this Giant Squid was no longer just a ruler of the ocean; it could charge ashore at any moment to wreak havoc. Fortunately, this part of the Eastern African Coast was sparsely populated and rarely visited by people, so they didn't need to worry too much about the unpredictable threat posed by the Giant Squid.
"Headquarters, this is Taishan calling. We have discovered a Corpseified ocean behemoth in West Coast Area 3; requesting support!" As soon as Taishan got into the vehicle, he quickly began calling for reinforcements from the training camp. They certainly could not stand by and watch this ocean beast bring irreversible disaster to Corsica.
After leaving the Eastern African Coast line, the minibus entered an area of sparse trees. Suddenly, two long wing-like structures extended rapidly from both sides of the minibus. After the wings appeared, a light blue flame erupted from the rear of the vehicle, and the minibus swiftly took off into the air. It turned out to be a disguised flying car, one that was not affordable for just anyone due to its large carrying capacity.
In flight, the minibus moved at an impressive speed, almost no slower than a helicopter. As the flying car passed over a population center, it noticed that what had previously been a sparsely populated town was now packed with people, with vehicles clogging the already narrow streets. Everyone marveled at how quickly news had spread; within just a few minutes, everyone had been notified.
The training camp was not far from the Eastern African Coast. After several minutes of high-speed flight, they returned to the camp. However, the training camp looked completely different from when they had arrived the day before. Burly officers appeared from nowhere and were boarding military vehicles, preparing to depart.
Although members of the Blood Envoy Mercenary Corps had spent the night at this training camp, they were still unaware of what was happening. But given the urgency of the situation, there was no time to ask for details.
After disembarking from the flying car, everyone quickly returned to their accommodations to change into combat suits and gather their gear in preparation for battle. Their experience from days of combat had instilled in them a high level of readiness; within just two minutes, they were all set. There was one exception: since landing, Lin Yi had remained seated in the vehicle, motionless.
“Mr. Lin, we are all saddened by this situation, but that doesn’t necessarily mean Sister Li is in trouble!” Taishan said as he saw Lin Yi looking as if he wanted to die.
Lin Yi, who had been unresponsive until now, seemed jolted awake by Taishan's words and stood up abruptly, nearly bumping his head against Taishan's nose.
“What do you mean? Wen is still alive!” Lin Yi exclaimed. He had seen Wen ensnared by the tentacles of a giant squid; such immense power would surely prevent any escape.
Taishan hesitated. He had been sitting on the minibus when he rushed to the scene just as the giant squid emerged from the water. From a distance, he vaguely saw Li Qiweng slip from the squid's tentacles and fall into the sea. However, when he got closer, there was no sign of her. Although he had never interacted with Li Qiweng directly, he knew her identity and did not believe she would drown in the water. Yet she hadn’t surfaced for several minutes; what could have happened remained a mystery.
Looking at Lin Yi, whose eyes were filled with hope, Taishan couldn’t predict how he would react if he turned out to be wrong. After a brief moment of contemplation, Taishan slowly nodded.
Lin Yi seemed like a drowning person grasping at a final lifeline; he joyfully bumped his head against the roof of the vehicle but clearly didn’t care about such things. Taishan hesitated for a moment but then retrieved a silver box from a metal box inside the vehicle and handed it to Lin Yi.
“What is this?” Lin Yi asked in confusion.
“Mr. Li entrusted me with ten copies of A1 for Sister Li,” Taishan explained. “But given the current situation, I think it’s best if you keep it safe.” With that, he stepped outside. He wasn’t sure if handing it directly to Lin Yi was right or wrong, but he knew that Lin Yi needed it now more than ever!
Lin Yi was momentarily stunned, but then he realized this was the Potential Gene! He cast a grateful glance at Taishan and immediately dashed out with the box. Time was of the essence; the longer he delayed, the more danger Li Qiweng would be in.
The entire Blood Envoy Mercenary Corps was waiting for Lin Yi, and he did not disappoint them. In less than three minutes, he had everything prepared. The Potential Gene Drugs were stuffed into the pockets on his shoulders and thighs; he knew these drugs couldn't be exposed carelessly.
"Sorry for the trouble, everyone!" Lin Yi said, raising his modified HQ4 Laser Gun and nodding seriously at the crowd. He needed everyone's cooperation. The other members of the mercenary team raised their hands to give him high-fives, showing their absolute support.
Taishan directly handed over a flying Minibus for Lin Yi's use, while they planned to head straight to the front lines to prevent the spread of the Zombie wave. When dealing with Zombies, any additional strength was welcome, so Taishan and his team were determined to fight with all their might. Considering they were foreign military forces training on another country's territory, it was no small feat.
Lin Yi had always adhered to the principle of seeking help rather than relying solely on himself. Without further thought, he led the entire Mercenary Corps onto the Flying Car, ready to head into battle.
The car's engine hadn't cooled down yet when Pachy turned it on again. The vehicle glided just a few dozen meters before soaring into the sky. Following Lin Yi's instructions, they aimed to rush to the site of the recent proposal. Although the Flying Car was already fast enough, Lin Yi was eager to save his wife and wished they could arrive instantly.
"When we encounter the Giant Squid, shoot it directly from the air! Make sure to turn that thing into a fishing net full of holes!" Lin Yi expressed his hatred for the Giant Squid through gritted teeth, unsure how to rally everyone before battle.
Everyone nodded in unison, their Laser Guns ready in hand, with beams of angry death light poised to fire at any moment. Even David's youthful face showed determination. Being just a child and obedient at that, David was especially favored by the female members of the Mercenary Corps. With Li Qiweng's life hanging in the balance, David naturally wanted to contribute. His unique flying ability gave him a better chance of survival than other team members, so Lin Yi wasn't worried about his safety.
In just a few minutes, the Flying Car reached West Coast District 3. At that moment, the Giant Squid had indeed come ashore; its massive body writhed desperately as its long tentacles waved in the air as if trying to drag all living beings into an endless hell.
Without waiting for Lin Yi's command, everyone began firing at the Giant Squid's head from mid-air. The varying thicknesses of crimson beams shot forth like flames of fury, striking directly at the Giant Squid's head. Various charred black holes appeared at an observable speed in the center of its head.
