Everything happened too suddenly, so suddenly that even Lin Yi overlooked the safety issue. “You should at least give me a reason before you die!” Lin Yi said casually, but at that moment, he was fully on guard; the speed of Laser Beam was not something he could easily evade.
“Someone is offering one million Contribution Points for me to kill you!” Lone Wolf's cold voice echoed across the somewhat desolate wilderness, chilling like an icy layer thousands of meters deep.

They were not the type to drag their feet, and soon they all got out of the car empty-handed and walked behind Lin Yi, including Brice and Ero. When Lone Wolf saw that Lin Yi's people had all come out, he followed suit, stepping out of the car and surrounding the twenty or so individuals tightly.
Lone Wolf had thrived in the mercenary world, so he was no ordinary person. Lin Yi and his group remained calm, as if they were unaware that their leader was about to be killed. Something was off, and Lone Wolf decided to take decisive action.
"Does the Mercenary Alliance allow you to kill your comrades?" shouted Bai, who had been silent among the crowd, but this was what Lin Yi had instructed him to say.
Lone Wolf was momentarily taken aback by the shout but quickly regained his composure. "Of course, I need to investigate after killing someone worth a million Contribution Points. But if I remember correctly, your Mercenary group hasn't officially joined the alliance!"
At that moment, Lone Wolf noticed that Lin Yi showed no signs of panic. In the next instant, it seemed as though everyone around Lin Yi had become blurry, and in an instant, they vanished from sight.
"Damn it, I've been tricked!" Lone Wolf roared. "Open fire!"
In less than two seconds of hesitation, the members of the Lone Wolf Mercenary Group, who had already surrounded Lin Yi, immediately aimed their weapons at him and fired in unison.
Brilliant red Laser Beams shot toward Lin Yi at breakneck speed, capable of completely vaporizing his body.
Lone Wolf, who was fixated on Lin Yi, suddenly felt a chill run down his spine as a wave of fear washed over him. Years of walking on the edge of life and death made him instinctively crouch down and leap forward a few steps.
"Clang!" Just as Lone Wolf steadied himself, a sound like a blade slicing into stone echoed behind him.
"Lin Yi!" Lone Wolf stumbled a few steps back and turned to see Lin Yi coldly staring at him with a knife in hand. Remembering that just moments ago Lin Yi had been under attack from the Laser Beams, for the first time, Lone Wolf felt fear. This was beyond his comprehension; although he knew Lin Yi was fast, it shouldn't be possible to move at such speed! Of course, Lin Yi wasn't moving that fast; he had simply acted as soon as those around him left.
Lone Wolf felt as if he were being targeted by a venomous gaze, rendering him almost unable to move. But he knew that if he stayed still now, with Lin Yi's abnormal speed, he would be in danger.
"Zing!" A laser beam shot out from Lone Wolf's gun, piercing through the air like the sharpest arrow aimed directly at Lin Yi.
Lone Wolf did not have high hopes for this deadly shot, so after firing the laser, he transformed into a blur and dashed toward the crowd.
In the next moment, Lone Wolf felt a fierce gust of wind coming from his left. He instinctively drew his blade with the fastest speed of his life.
"Clang!" The sound of metal clashing echoed sharply, causing many to wince as their eardrums throbbed in pain.
Lin Yi did not expect his strike to miss again, but he knew he had to press on. As long as he kept Lone Wolf occupied, his subordinates would be too afraid to use their laser guns against him.
The cold glint of the blade flashed as Lin Yi swung his weapon forward, thrusting it directly at Lone Wolf. Their strengths were nearly equal, and neither could gain an advantage in a direct confrontation.
However, Lone Wolf swiftly maneuvered his long knife, deflecting Lin Yi's thrusts time and again. Lin Yi realized that if this continued, he would surely lose. He attempted to create distance between them, but Lone Wolf was like a clingy child, always remaining within two meters of him.
The other members of the Lone Wolf Mercenary Group sensed their leader's distress and dared not shoot recklessly. Yet they were also engulfed in fear, as those who had followed Lin Yi had vanished into the night without a trace.
"Ah!" A scream pierced the wilderness. Everyone turned toward the sound to see a mercenary with a deep gash across his neck; blood sprayed from the wound in torrents. Almost as soon as the members of the Lone Wolf Mercenary Group were stunned by this sight, the wounded mercenary collapsed lifelessly.
But the horror was just beginning. As soon as the first scream echoed, over twenty more cries followed almost instantaneously. The same gruesome scene unfolded again as those mercenaries had their throats cut and fell dead.
In just a few seconds, more than twenty people were slain in one swift move. The once silent night transformed into a chaotic nightmare, ready to claim the lives of these mercenaries at any moment.
Panicked mercenaries began firing into the darkness aimlessly. They shouted incoherent words, their voices strained as they tore at the air in desperation.
Lone Wolf was unsure of what had happened, but he vaguely suspected it was related to the disappearance of Lin Yi and the other team members. At that moment, he began to regret his decision; the combat power of Lin Yi and the Mercenary group was indeed terrifying.
However, it was too late for regrets. Lone Wolf was not one to whimper and beg for mercy.

As the soldiers of the Lone Wolf Mercenary Group frantically fired at the unseen hand of death, it indeed did not continue its assault. But before anyone could cheer, three gleaming short blades suddenly flashed in the darkness, flying toward the Mercenaries with a ghostly speed.

Before anyone could react, the short blades continued their massacre, cutting through another ten throats in mere seconds.
Death instilled fear, and fear drove people to madness! Under the threat of invisible death, some Mercenaries, though not completely losing their sanity, began shooting wildly without regard for order, completely ignoring the safety of their comrades.
Suddenly, one Mercenary felt a sharp pain in his chest as a massive gash appeared on his Combat Suit. He didn't even have time to scream before he collapsed straight down, barely stirring up any dust as he died silently.
