The night breeze, heavy with moisture, swept in, and after the warmth had faded, Lin Yi found himself wide awake despite the coolness of the river wind.
The intelligence team was still busy at work. Although Lin Yi had sent Jones and Jiao Jiao to rest, Jiao Jiao continued to assist Charlie in deciphering the mysterious code. The lines of code felt like leeches creeping under the skin, making it hard to feel at ease.
The fierce battle had ended a few hours ago, and the morning star was just beginning to rise, heralding dawn. Yet Charlie remained focused on writing code, trying to crack the incomprehensible cipher.
"Can I ask you to help me? We don't have much time!" Lin Yi felt an inexplicable urgency; he sensed that if this matter wasn't handled properly, something bad would happen.
Charlie looked up, his hair a chaotic mess atop his head, bloodshot eyes betraying the exhaustion of a sleepless night. Despite his efforts, he still had no clear direction and felt anxious.
"Captain, give me ten more minutes; I'm starting to get some ideas!" Charlie's fingers flew across the touchscreen, various letters and symbols flashing rapidly on the black screen.
Lin Yi didn't understand much of this; he increasingly felt like a mere brute, wishing he could resolve many issues through sheer force.
But now Lin Yi had others depending on him. Not everyone possessed his strength; losing even one person or injuring someone would weigh heavily on him.
This was war, and death was inevitable. However, Lin Yi's Blood Envoy Mercenary Corps aimed to crush their enemies with absolute power and emerge unscathed!
Three minutes later, Charlie completed a new decryption program and began testing it. On another screen beside the garbled code, a translation that ordinary people could understand started to appear rapidly. Yet as two-thirds of the decryption process progressed, more garbled text remained on the screen along with several meaningless symbols.
"Perhaps this code itself has no real meaning," Lin Yi said with a frown, clenching his fists in consolation as he noticed Charlie's face growing paler and sensed his rising anxiety.
"Ding—"
Suddenly, a notification sound rang out. The decryption interface displayed two words: Army.
"Army!" Lin Yi and Charlie exclaimed simultaneously, both wearing expressions of surprise.
"Is it possible that what we cracked tonight was just the encrypted communications of the City Defense Force?" Lin Yi looked at Charlie's haggard face, unable to believe it.
"Impossible. We also visited their intelligence department, and a lot of information is shared, even classified messages. I don't think it would be that hard to crack!" Jiao Jiao rubbed her eyes and stared at the only text on the screen that she could understand.
"Don't rush. There's still a bit left to crack; perhaps we can uncover more information. I'm confident in this decryption system!" As a rare computing talent, Charlie wasn't narcissistic, but he was confident in his abilities. Even if he couldn't fully decode this kind of garbled text, there might still be some useful information.
Sure enough, as soon as Charlie finished speaking, a new set of words appeared on the display: Dawn!
"Time and characters are all set. It seems someone is really about to take action!" Lin Yi's heart began to race after seeing those words.
"Pachy, Jian, 46, Sean, quickly prepare for battle!" Better safe than sorry; Lin Yi quickly started making arrangements. He could tell that the Zombie's determination this time was not simple!
Just as Lin Yi finished speaking, another alert sounded from the display, and the last line of garbled text formed a word: Attack!
As soon as Lin Yi saw the word Attack, he vanished from sight. By the time Charlie and Jiao Jiao reacted, they had already grabbed their Laser Guns and charged out.
Lin Yi had already reached the riverbank and looked at the shimmering surface of the water but found no signs of movement. However, his heart was racing; he could feel the urgency before a great battle.
Suddenly, bubbles the size of bowls began to rise from the river's surface, followed by beams of light from Searchlights sweeping across the water with dazzling brilliance. These bubbles disappeared in an instant, but their impact area grew larger and larger.
Lin Yi's expression tightened as he unleashed his Psychic Power! At that moment, a terrifying scene unfolded; a massive creature surged forth from beneath the water, occupying almost half of the river's surface!
The wide river seemed to transform into a Water Hollow at that moment, barely able to contain the massive creature's body!
"Dragon Whale!" Lin Yi's eyes widened; under the immense impact, even he felt a suffocating pressure. The strength of this Dragon Whale wasn't particularly outrageous, but it already possessed the unique aura of Eight-Star Combat Power!
"Black!" Although Lin Yi's strength had already broken through to the Eight Star Level, compared to the massive creature before him, which was dozens of meters long, he felt insignificant, like he could be used as a toothpick! As the solid-like water column rushed toward him, Lin Yi instinctively tried to evade. However, if he dodged, the military camp behind him would suffer. Not everyone had reacted yet; many were still in a daze. If struck by this powerful water column, they would undoubtedly face dire consequences!
In that instant, Lin Yi's muscles tensed, and his entire body surged in size, transforming him into a muscular powerhouse!
"Break—" Lin Yi let out a long howl. The Silver Soul Battle Blade had somehow appeared in his hand!
The Silver Soul Battle Blade shimmered with cold light in Lin Yi's grip, resembling a divine weapon that stood firm against the chaos around it, unyielding even as mountains crumbled and earth shook!
In the next moment, a thick Blade Qi erupted from the Silver Soul Battle Blade. Although it was shorter than before, it was more solid and exuded an overwhelming weightiness that felt impossible to shake.
"Hiss—" At that moment, the water column reached Lin Yi and collided directly with the dense Blade Qi.
When the two powerful forces clashed, it sounded like two invisible artillery shells colliding with a thunderous boom. The energy of the Blade Qi continuously eroded the energy of the water column, effectively blocking most of it. The remaining portion split in two and shot off in opposite directions, but its power was no longer formidable.
In just a few blinks of an eye, the momentum of the water column was completely halted; most of it fell to the ground while the Blade Qi dissipated at the last moment!

At that moment, Black finally arrived, transforming into a pool of black metallic liquid that enveloped Lin Yi. In an instant, Lin Yi regained his imposing presence. After a night of turmoil, he felt somewhat fatigued; however, with the enhancement of the War God Suit, that fatigue was negligible.
Suddenly, a terrifying scene unfolded as massive creatures emerged one after another from the river! Just in Lin Yi's camp alone, there were three giant marine creatures, including a Dragon Whale and a Giant Squid! These beings had evidently been lurking at the riverbed for some time, completely unnoticed by the coastal defense forces!
Not far away, the continuous roars informed Lin Yi that the combination of the words "army," "dawn," and "attack" truly indicated that this Zombie Army was preparing for a dawn battle before the light broke!
The Zombie's scheme was clearly not a spur-of-the-moment decision, and Lin Yi had just arrived to encounter it—his luck was indeed terrible!
"All units, attack!" Lin Yi shouted helplessly, his voice echoing across several kilometers.
The Zombies were evidently not just sending a few giant Sea Beasts to assault the military camp. While their strength was formidable, it was still insufficient against humanity's overwhelming firepower!
One Nile Crocodile after another emerged from the water, thrashing their massive tails as they swiftly navigated through. The water surface was teeming with constantly moving aquatic creatures; however, they all emitted a strong stench of decay. Layers of white maggots crawled over their rotting bodies, incessantly gnawing at the already foul flesh.
The early warning system had just activated when the Heavy Machine Gun roared to life, orange-yellow shell casings quickly covering the ground.
The sound of gunfire shattered the last remnants of tranquility. The flashes from firearms, crimson lasers, and the sweeping beams of searchlights intertwined to form an extraordinarily vibrant line of death.
"Swish swish."
Several figures approached Lin Yi—Li Qiweng, Sean, and Roman. However, more people soon rushed over. Dealing with these three Sea Beasts that had reached Eight Star Level required more than just a few Eight Star Level fighters!
