Hearing this, Lin Yi, who had already sat down, suddenly stood up and exclaimed, "Cook and President are seriously injured?"
Cook and Reck were the pinnacle of human strength. If they couldn't hold on, the strategic balance between humanity and the Zombies would be completely shattered. At that point, no matter how hard Lin Yi tried, he wouldn't be able to turn the tide.
"Young man, don't panic. We have lived for hundreds of years; we are not that reckless. The Zombie King is formidable, but we are not unprepared. We are injured, but he is not faring well either.

Seeing the flicker of panic on Lin Yi's face, Reck hurriedly continued explaining. If they hadn't even begun the final battle and Lin Yi lost confidence, there would be no point in continuing.
"What kind of realm is that?" Lin Yi swallowed hard. Their current strength was already impressive; if they were to advance further, wouldn't that mean becoming a god?
"Eternal Realm—immortal and indestructible!"
Though it was only eight short words, each one struck Lin Yi's heart like a hammer. If the ultimate motivation for humanity's relentless struggle was anything, these eight words likely represented the wishes of most people.
"Is there really such a thing as immortality?" Just moments ago, Lin Yi learned that although Cook had lived over three hundred years, he still faced death. Thus, this matter weighed heavily on his mind.
The more powerful a person became, the more they desired to obtain; it seemed like a vicious cycle from which few could truly escape the clutches of desire.
Reck's expression grew solemn as he slowly spoke again, "A hundred years ago, there was someone who also sought eternity. In the end, he took his own life.
Of course, today's disasters are far more terrifying than those of the past. At least in my understanding, many have attempted to reach this realm before but ultimately failed. All things have birth and death; this is the natural order. To go against it usually leads to a bad end."
Reck paused for a moment and glanced at Lin Yi before continuing, "So no matter what happens, you must not lose your original intention; otherwise, you will bring about your own destruction."
For Reck, Lin Yi was somewhat inscrutable. Although there were many strong individuals in the current world, most had risen to power through the use of drugs. They were either Ability users or physically capable soldiers. Yet here was Lin Yi, who had suddenly evolved from an ordinary employee to someone at the pinnacle of humanity.
Reck knew that he could see the limits of most people's abilities, but Lin Yi was different; he had no idea where this young man's evolution would end. He feared that Lin Yi might sacrifice the interests of the entire human world for his own selfish gains. The more powerful a person became, the greater the potential for destruction if they strayed down a dark path.
"I know about the War God. But your visit today must be about more than just sharing this information," Lin Yi sighed, needing to process what he had learned from Reck.
"Yes. We don't have much time left; in six months at most, we will launch a full-scale attack!"
Reck understood that once that individual recovered, a final assault would surely follow, leading to a life-or-death scenario. They needed to prepare now; otherwise, all their previous efforts would be in vain.
"What is their strength like?" Lin Yi only knew of two First Generation Zombies and one true Zombie King, but he had no idea how strong they really were.
"The First Generation Zombies are about on par with my strength. However, that Zombie King is beyond my capabilities at this point. As for Steve, thank you for your help; he has sustained serious injuries and won't recover anytime soon."
Lin Yi felt a sense of relief; Zhao Pei's death was even more significant than he had imagined. Steve's injury was undoubtedly a major opportunity for the Human Camp.
"There are over three hundred Second Generation Zombies, ranging from ordinary to formidable fighters, but there are no more than ten who match Zhao Pei's combat prowess! Many Second Generation Zombies were eliminated early on, so only a few have truly grown strong. These Zombies are mainly concentrated in large fortresses across various continents.
As for those below the second generation, very few have broken through the Ten-Star Peak. While this force is powerful, there is still hope. Our key challenge now is to eliminate those above the second generation Zombies; that is crucial."
"What about our overall strength?" Although Lin Yi was the President of the Mercenaries, many mercenary groups were operating independently, so his ability to mobilize forces was quite limited. He also had very little understanding of the true strength of the entire Human Camp.
"We have fewer than one hundred individuals who have surpassed the Ten-Star Peak, but most of them are quite formidable and stronger than ordinary Second Generation Zombies. Your strength may not yet match that of a First Generation Zombie, but you can easily handle Second Generation Zombies. So currently, your power ranks just below mine and Brother Cook's!"
Lin Yi nodded. Being trapped in Steve's Yellow Sand Space turned out to be a blessing in disguise. For ten whole hours, he had been fighting against Humanoid Monsters that surpassed the Ten-Star Peak. Although these Humanoid Monsters were merely ordinary Second Generation Zombies in terms of strength, their sheer numbers allowed Lin Yi to make significant improvements during that time.
As of now, as long as the Second Generation Zombie is not overwhelmingly powerful, Lin Yi can easily slay a large number without much effort.
"Your team is currently the strongest force in the Human Camp! Both Brother Cook and I are getting old, and there’s really not much we can do anymore."
Upon reaching this point, Reck felt a sense of melancholy that often accompanies heroes in their twilight years. Great generals, like beautiful women, are not allowed to grow old in the eyes of the world. While Reck stood at the pinnacle of strength in this world, he understood the principle that prosperity leads to decline.
"So what’s our next step?" Lin Yi couldn’t afford to dampen Reck's enthusiasm at this moment, and he knew that Reck would undoubtedly continue to challenge the First Generation Zombie.
"Implement the Noah's Ark Project!” Reck steadied his emotions before revealing the purpose of his journey.
"What is this plan?" A sense of unease crept into Lin Yi's heart; it looked very much like a plan to escape.
Reck glanced around before waving his hand to completely isolate this space from the outside world. He then said, "We must prepare for both outcomes. We will not give up on the final battle against the Zombie. However, we must also be ready for failure. No matter what happens, we cannot allow humanity's legacy to end with our generation! Brother Cook and I have devised a plan to transport a group of people to Outer Space to preserve the seeds of humanity!"
"But haven’t most of our spaceships been destroyed by the Zombie? Even if there are any left, they’re likely in their hands now?" Although Lin Yi was unaware of Reck's intentions, during the Second Zombie Crisis, humanity had crumbled, leaving no time to manage those spaceships.
"While many countries' ships have either been destroyed or occupied by the Zombie, your Mercenary Alliance actually has a secret spaceport that still exists. However, there’s only one spaceship there, capable of carrying very few people and not meeting interstellar travel requirements!
Still, regardless of that, it represents hope. Perhaps they will find a way; but first, we need to get them out!"
"Where is it?" Lin Yi had no knowledge of this; in fact, only the President had the authority to know about it. However, he had been too busy exterminating Zombie to learn much.
"We’ll have to wait for Brother Cook to discuss that with you. For now, I only know he’s still alive; I don’t know exactly where," Reck shrugged helplessly.
If it weren't for the fact that Reck was a senior and stronger than him, Lin Yi would have seriously considered tossing him out for not providing any concrete implementation plans after all this time.
"Is Mr. War God coming to see me just for something that has no follow-up?"
Although Lin Yi's tone was somewhat unfriendly, Reck didn't seem to mind. He simply blushed and said, "Well, I need to borrow someone from Mr. Lin Yi."
"Borrow someone?"
Lin Yi was confused by Reck's request. It seemed that no one on his side was worth Reck personally coming over and discussing things so amicably.
"Brother Cook found such a good successor in you, so my Reck Family naturally has the obligation to find a new heir as well!" Reck, older than Cook, didn't initially feel the urgency in finding a successor, but now it was imperative.
"Who do you want to borrow?" Lin Yi quickly thought through the people he knew. Although he vaguely remembered something, it remained unclear.
"Brice, specifically Brice Reck!" Reck slowly replied, a glint of cunning in his eyes.
"Really? Brice! That guy!" After Reck's reminder, Lin Yi finally reacted. He vaguely recalled that someone had mentioned the Reck Family before and now remembered that Brice had told him he was part of the Reck Family!
