A sharp "whoosh" echoed as a Crimson Beam shot towards the Starry Night Sky, quickly transforming into a point of light before vanishing completely.
With a thunderous crash, the mech thrown by Ye Yu slammed into the office building. The collapsing debris buried the mech entirely, leaving only a beam of light shooting out.
Suddenly, Ye Yu felt a twitch in the corner of his eye, sensing danger! The mech piloted by the Robed Woman was now pinned to the ground, and a dazzling beam of light was gathering at the muzzle of her Phase Gun, aimed directly at her mech.
Being struck at such close range by the Phase Gun would undoubtedly cause severe damage to her mech, and it was clear that the muzzle was pointed right at the Robed Woman!
Ye Yu dared not waste a moment. At that instant, his body reacted faster than his consciousness could catch up. He slammed down on the control stick, propelling his mech forward with the ferocity of a hungry wolf lunging at its prey.
But it was too late; the beam from the Phase Gun was about to fire. If this Death Beam successfully hit the Robed Woman's mech, it would cast a dark shadow over their Prison Break mission!
In that split second, something bizarre happened! The mechanical arm that had been aimed at the Robed Woman suddenly flipped around and shot a Crimson Light Beam straight into the air!
Everything unfolded in a flash. Ye Yu's mech had already lunged forward. The immense impact sent the unprepared mech flying!
Without hesitation, as soon as the danger was lifted, the Robed Woman slammed her mech down onto the ground. The massive machine stood up with incredible agility in an instant.
At this moment, all four mechs on the battlefield were knocked to the ground; Ye Yu had taken down three mechs while the Robed Woman had dealt with one.
All of this transpired within mere seconds—so brief that even Ye Yu could hardly believe it! But there was no time to ponder; their chance to escape was fleeting!
Seated in the cockpit, Ye Yu nodded at the Robed Woman before maneuvering his mech once more, charging directly toward the wall at the exit.
The Robed Woman was not to be outdone. As Ye Yu moved, the mech she piloted followed closely behind with a thunderous momentum. Ye Yu controlled the mech to raise its mechanical arm, and suddenly, four faint blue flames flickered near the shoulder. The cold flames resembled stars descending from a brilliant night sky, radiating an enchanting beauty.
In the next moment, a piercing whistle erupted as the four flames shot forth, accompanied by four short-range explosive missiles! These specialized short-range explosive missiles were formidable in power. Although the Phase Gun had immense strength and superior penetrating capability, it was still these seemingly slender short-range explosive missiles that could blast a hole through the wall wide enough for them to escape.
Ye Yu and the Robed Woman's mechs were only two hundred meters from the wall. As soon as the missiles were launched, their mechs surged forward!
The two pilots deliberately controlled the speed of their mechs, and within less than a hundred meters, the four missiles struck their target!
“Boom—” The four explosions nearly merged into one, creating a tremendous roar that shook the ground beneath them. Ye Yu and the others let out a long breath; they had finally carved out a path!
After the explosion, a massive cloud of dust instantly covered half of the area. Ye Yu and the Robed Woman did not pause for even a moment; the mech's power system roared back to life.
In just two breaths, they crossed the hundred-meter distance! Although the four short-range explosive missiles did not collapse the entire wall, they blasted an opening nearly ten meters wide! These specialized short-range explosive missiles were originally designed by the Federation to breach the Blue Seal Empire's defenses, and now they conveniently aided Ye Yu's prison break!
Just as both mechs stepped out of the prison walls, a deafening roar echoed through the night sky. Ye Yu's heart skipped a beat as he looked up; he was not mistaken. Hovering less than a hundred meters above them were three strange flying machines. The underbelly of these aircraft spewed almost white flames, keeping them suspended in mid-air.
These three flying machines hung above like scythes of death. Ye Yu felt a sense of helplessness; how could such aircraft appear here?
"This must be what they call mech killers—the Armed Aircraft. It seems they are quite well-prepared," said the Nameless Old Man, finally opening his eyes to gaze at the Armed Aircraft hovering above.
Ye Yu looked at him with warmth in his heart; he knew that the reason why that mech had suddenly raised its Phase Gun against the Robed Woman was due to this elder's intervention. Although Ye Yu could not see that mysterious Mental Power, he truly felt its presence. However, with his current abilities, he was far from reaching such a level of control over objects!
At that moment, Ye Yu sensed movement from the mech beside him. Turning toward the sound, he saw three individuals on that mech looking at him. The Robed Woman gestured towards Ye Yu calmly, but he immediately dismissed her requests in his mind.
The meaning of "Robed Woman" is quite simple; they provide cover from the rear while Ye Yu leads the girl beside him to retreat. Ye Yu has never been one to abandon his teammates, and even so, they would ultimately be easily picked off one by one!
Ye Yu shook his head, gazing at the hovering aircraft in the sky. Without any hesitation, the two Phase Guns mounted on his mech's shoulders instantly adjusted their angles, targeting the aircraft above.
The Phase Guns had been in a state of preheating, and just as Ye Yu made his move, two beams of deadly light shot towards an aircraft in the blink of an eye!
A flicker of joy flashed in Ye Yu's eyes, but it quickly vanished, replaced by shock.
A faint buzzing sound echoed beneath the vast night sky. Although it was subtle, it sent a shiver through Ye Yu's heart.
"Energy Shield!"
Ye Yu slowly uttered those three words. This was a type of Energy Shield typically found only on Starships, yet it was equipped on such an ordinary Armed Aircraft. It was important to note that the energy consumption of an Energy Shield was astonishing; even with high-concentration Energy Crystals, this aircraft's load could not sustain it for long.
