Ye Yu stared at the cockpit of the Type 9 mech, a familiar sensation causing him to feel somewhat dazed. However, it was only for a brief moment when a warm silver sphere suddenly slipped from his hand.
The silver sphere fell onto one of the mech's display screens like a seasoned guide horse, and then it bizarrely merged into the screen, vanishing from Ye Yu's sight as if it were a wisp of invisible air.
Within less than three seconds of the sphere's disappearance, the countdown for the self-destruct mechanism inside the mech fell silent, and the warning system ceased its piercing alarms.
"Alright, this mech is now under my control, and you can operate it freely without that suit!" Jin Shan's voice suddenly echoed in the cockpit. Ye Yu glanced around but couldn't find where Jin Shan was; it felt as if Jin Shan was part of the mech itself.
With both hands gripping the control stick, Ye Yu activated the mech again, but the pilot had changed. It had been less than ten seconds since they had engaged with two other mechs.
At that moment, they could only rely on their extraordinary reflexes to desperately evade the deadly beams of light. Ye Yu dared not be careless; almost as soon as the mech powered up, he charged straight toward the nearest enemy mech.
As one of the first users of the Type 9 mech, Ye Yu was not entirely unfamiliar with this model but was certainly more experienced than those who had just begun using it.
The seemingly clumsy mech moved gracefully under Ye Yu's command, darting like a nimble dancer to position itself behind another mech.
With a swift motion, the massive mechanical arm of Ye Yu's mech seized hold of the enemy mech in front of him!
In the next moment, Ye Yu activated the boost system, and his mech shot up into the air in an instant! The captured enemy mech had no time to react before it found itself suspended in midair.
Ye Yu would not give his opponent a moment's respite. As both mechs ascended in an unusual posture, he suddenly directed his mech to dive straight down toward the ground!
In an instant, it resembled a strangely shaped meteor plummeting toward the earth! A glint of madness flashed in Ye Yu's eyes; battles between similar types of mechs were typically hard-fought and rarely resulted in a decisive victory unless there was overwhelming numerical superiority or exceptionally high piloting skills!
Fortunately, or unfortunately, Ye Yu had practiced this kind of manipulation. For an ordinary person, it would be akin to playing with fire, but he knew he could do it!
In an instant, Ye Yu hurled the mech he was holding down towards the ground!

The mech was plummeting at an incredible speed, and there was no need for much time. Almost at the moment when the pilot of the mech trapped by Ye Yu let out a startled cry, both mechs were about to crash to the ground. The pilot could even see the bushes swaying in the wind, seemingly welcoming his arrival.
This tactic was terrifying; it was a complete act of mutual destruction! Although the Type 9 mech had high durability, under such a high-impact scenario, even if the mech didn't get completely destroyed, the pilot inside would be killed by the tremendous force!
The last ten meters came in an instant. Ye Yu's expression was extremely focused. Just as the height data changed to ten meters, or perhaps just before it reached that height, Ye Yu completed two actions.
He released his grip on the mech beneath him and activated his own mech's reverse thrust system! At that moment, Ye Yu's mech's legs were about to smash into the ground, but just then, the reverse thrust kicked in, lifting Ye Yu back into the air.
Such precise control could only be attempted by someone like Ye Yu who had practiced countless times; otherwise, it could easily lead to a catastrophic failure!
Under the immense impact, a large pit formed in the bushes, and clouds of dust obscured the massive mech. However, Ye Yu knew that the mech had not been damaged; in fact, its occupant was not dead yet—just knocked unconscious by the overwhelming force.
A flash of ferocity crossed Ye Yu's face, and with a pull of the mech's control stick, the mech's thrusters propelled Ye Yu directly into the sky! In the next moment, the Phase Gun mounted on the mech activated, its barrel automatically aiming at the motionless mech on the ground below!
Two Crimson Beams shot out in an instant, piercing two dark holes through the mech above! Of course, this was just the beginning; Ye Yu skillfully operated the Phase Gun, and in just a few blinks, the mech beneath was riddled with holes. However, upon closer inspection, it became evident that the cockpit of that mech had hardly been hit by any Laser Beams!
"That's enough; this mech is practically useless now. Hand me the Energy Crystal inside!" Jin Shan's voice suddenly rang in Ye Yu's ear, just as before, leaving Ye Yu uncertain of Jin Shan's exact location.
There was no room for hesitation on the battlefield. As soon as Jin Shan's words fell, Ye Yu flipped the immobilized mech over and skillfully used the mechanical arm to extract the Energy Crystal from a very concealed spot in the mech's abdomen.
"Quickly, give it to me!" Jin Shan's voice became excited, completely devoid of its earlier calmness. Ye Yu nodded slightly and directly placed the Energy Crystal into what resembled a cockpit.
At that moment, a silver light suddenly flashed by, instantly enveloping the Energy Crystal. Under the dazzling silver glow, Ye Yu couldn't help but squint. The Energy Crystal wrapped in silver light pulsated like a beating heart and then rapidly shrank in size!
In the blink of an eye, the silver light receded to reveal an irregular sphere. Suddenly, a hole appeared on the sphere, and a cloud of white powder began to disperse.
The Silver Sphere suddenly blurred and shot toward Ye Yu's neck. Before Ye Yu could react, the Silver Sphere transformed into a pendant that hung directly on his chest!
"The Energy Crystal is good; it only has a small amount of impurities. However, to restore it to my original state, I will need more Energy Crystals!" This time, Ye Yu could confirm that Jin Shan's voice was coming from his chest area.
