The Amethyst Mine was over a hundred kilometers away from the Spaceport, precisely on the opposite side of where Ye Yu currently stood. At this moment, the entire He Garden was under strict lockdown, and apart from the patrolling Armed Personnel, there were hardly any other people in sight.
A distance of one hundred kilometers was not far for the Type 9 Mecha. To expedite their journey, the group activated the flight mode of the Type 9 Mecha, albeit at a moderate speed. Huge construction vehicles were constantly moving back and forth, transporting the already refined ore to a nearby cargo-specific Spaceport. Most of the outer shells of flying cars on the streets required Amethyst as a raw material. This material was incredibly lightweight and resilient, providing excellent defensive capabilities.
When Ye Yu reached the outer buildings of this mining area, a middle-aged man resembling a steward approached them. Behind this steward followed a dozen Armed Personnel wielding Assault Phase Guns. These Assault Phase Guns were about the size of an adult's arm; due to their larger size, they could store enough Energy Crystals and fire high-powered Laser Beams.
As the captain of Team Five, Ye Yu naturally stepped out first. He opened the cockpit and swiftly made his way to stand before the steward.
The middle-aged steward had short hair that stood stiffly, and his chiseled face bore the marks of time and determination. Even upon seeing Ye Yu's extraordinary demeanor, there was no change in his expression.
"Hello, Mr. Ye Yu," he said. "I am Wei Ze, Deputy Director of the Energy Division at Silver Dragon Star Mining Department. I am currently fully responsible for all energy mineral matters concerning Withered Source Star!" The middle-aged man extended his hand in a courteous greeting, clearly having been informed in advance about Ye Yu's arrival.
Ye Yu returned the gesture with military decorum customary to Silver Dragon Star, saying, "I am Ye Yu from Silver Dragon Guard, responsible for security here. I hope you will provide your support, Mr. Wei!"
Wei Ze nodded and replied, "Mr. Ye's responsibilities are significant; I will do my utmost to support your work and hope you will also support mine!"
Ye Yu smiled slightly and said, "Of course; that is my duty!"
"Oh, by the way, could you tell me where our camp is? These mechas also need a suitable place to be stationed!" Ye Yu glanced back at the towering mechas behind him and asked Wei Ze.
Wei Ze showed a hint of apology on his face as he replied, "I apologize; it has been a while since I handled such detailed matters that I overlooked this aspect. Allow me to take you all there; it's not convenient for ordinary people to enter that area!"
Without further ado, Ye Yu returned to the mecha cockpit and followed Wei Ze's vehicle toward a corner of the complex! This Mining Area was vast; even just the surrounding service facilities were equivalent to three regular city blocks in size, not to mention the countless years' worth of tunnels that had already been excavated inside.
Moments later, they arrived at a lush area filled with buildings. This was clearly a place for high-ranking officials, with most of the houses being no taller than five stories. These structures were nestled among trees with a mix of red and green foliage, creating a unique charm.
"Your dormitory is in Building Five. Each person has a single room, and there is a large underground facility where you can store your mechs. This basement has two entrances: one leading into this building and another that connects to the Mining Area, allowing direct access to the center of the Mining Area! This building used to house a mech Guard Unit from the Amethyst Society, so the environment is quite nice!"
After walking a short distance, Wei Ze pointed to a five-story silver building marked with the number five. Given that the buildings were quite similar, they could only distinguish them by their numerical signs.
Ye Yu glanced at the building and confirmed that there was indeed an underground passage inside. He expressed his gratitude to Wei Ze, who then hurried off, as he had many tasks to attend to. The Silver Dragon Guard held a special status, and even someone like Ye Yu, as a captain, needed to be treated with respect.
The safety of the Mining Area was of utmost importance; after all, Interstellar Pirates and even cash-strapped Star Wanderers often targeted these areas. The ore in the Mining Area had not yet been processed, making it difficult to trace if stolen.
However, Ye Yu's focus was elsewhere. After setting his mech to autonomous driving mode, he sent it to the basement. Then he instructed everyone to take a break before organizing their shifts. Ye Yu made his way directly to a room in the far corner of the fifth floor. As soon as he closed the door, Jin Shan emerged from his chest area, transforming into an adult-sized virtual image resembling a bald man in a white robe.
"This matter is quite sensitive, and your mechs are equipped with surveillance devices. While I can block their signals, it drains my energy and prolonged silence might raise suspicions."
Jin Shan paused mid-sentence, insisting on waiting until they were out of the mech before continuing. He wasted no time and got straight to the point.
"It's actually quite simple. Near amethyst ore deposits, there are usually associated minerals with extremely high energy density. Just one stone the size of this room would significantly restore my abilities! I'm still too weak and could be discovered at any moment. Based on what I've learned about your knowledge here recently, my situation won't end well!
Not long ago, I also recalled a method for forging a type of weapon that resembles the metal knife you used before. However, this knife would be forged from those energy-associated minerals combined with amethyst, producing some remarkable effects. This knife is incredibly lightweight and can change its form freely. In your Federation's language, we can call it the Phantom Blade!"
Upon hearing Jin Shan's words, Ye Yu initially felt awkward but was taken aback when he heard about the Phantom Blade. For martial arts practitioners like him, such cold weapons could sometimes be more effective. He understood that Jin Shan's serious demeanor indicated that this Phantom Blade was anything but ordinary.
"Yes, the most important aspect of this Phantom Blade is its sharpness. I remember it had a title: 'Unyielding Edge.' Even your latest mechs would be easily cut through by the Phantom Blade!" Seeing Ye Yu's expression shift continuously, Jin Shan continued explaining the capabilities of this Phantom Blade.
