In the depths of the universe, a pitch-black void enveloped three High Mountain-Class Spaceships, resembling static models on a dark canvas, motionless against the backdrop of distant stars. Only the occasional streaks of starlight provided a reference to their considerable speed.
Ye Yu observed the fluctuating data on the intelligence console, his brow furrowed. The tail signals of these ships were varied and chaotic, indicating that they were not part of a unified fleet with standardized equipment. However, it also revealed that the remnants of the Wavebreaker Legion were still quite substantial. According to the latest analysis from the Intelligence Officer, they still possessed over ninety powerful ships, including three Large Spaceships, more than twenty Medium Ships, and over sixty Small Ships.
The good news was that most of these vessels were ordinary Starships, meaning their armament was not particularly formidable and primarily focused on self-defense. There were not many true combat vessels among them, and those that existed were not as advanced as those of the Federation.
Through various data analyses, it became clear that these ships had made several brief stops along their route, likely for refueling. After all, during prolonged interstellar travel, these smaller ships typically did not accompany larger fleets but remained docked within massive motherships. With the loss of the Wanderer, the Wavebreaker Legion had no surplus motherships to accommodate these vessels; thus, they had to rely on fuel supplies to ensure their continued flight. This presented an opportunity for Ye Yu and his team; otherwise, pursuing the Wavebreaker Legion under similar flight conditions would have been nearly impossible.
“Captain, we have constructed a preliminary picture of the Remnants of the Breaking Wave's forces. Should we draft an initial battle plan?” The Intelligence Officer stood up and approached the commander's designated position respectfully. Ever since he witnessed Ye Yu's capabilities a few days ago, he no longer doubted the strength of this seemingly overly young captain.
Ye Yu nodded and lightly tapped his fingers on the command chair a few times before making a swift gesture in the air.
In an instant, blue lights flickered into existence in front of Ye Yu, rapidly coalescing into a Holographic Image.
With a wave of his hand, Ye Yu set the Holographic Image spinning before him. The images of three massive Battleships dominated most of his view—these were the most powerful vessels he needed to find a way to deal with. Moreover, it was likely that many high-ranking members of the Wavebreaker Legion were aboard these ships since they represented relative safety.
Next, Ye Yu examined the remaining ships one by one. Given the power of Mountain-Class Battleships, they had absolute superiority over these Medium Ships; however, if the enemy chose to scatter rather than engage in battle, they would have limited options. Additionally, those three Large Battleships would not allow Ye Yu's team to attack their Battleships without retaliation.
“The greatest threat is clearly posed by these three Large Battleships. Our forces are insufficient to encircle them effectively; therefore, we must employ unconventional tactics,” Ye Yu stated as he activated the communication devices on all three ships. The holographic images of crew members from the other two vessels projected into the command room, making it feel somewhat cramped.
“What unconventional tactics does Captain Ye have in mind?” Just as Ye Yu finished speaking, a cold voice echoed within the command room.
Ye Yu glanced toward the source of the voice—a brooding young man with long hair stepped into view. There were few members in Shadow Team whom Ye Yu did not recognize; this long-haired youth was Li Zhe, captain of Gaoshan II Spaceship and deputy leader of Shadow Team. Although Ye Yu had won over many with his abilities, it was evident that Li Zhe remained unconvinced and was eager to present him with a challenge at this moment.
For such a situation, it was not the first time Ye Yu had encountered it. He calmly looked at Li Zhe and said, "The stock unit will act as bait to entangle the three main Battleships, while the remaining forces will surround and eliminate the enemy's medium-sized spacecraft. Once we deal with the medium-sized ships, we will join forces to take down the last three Large Spaceships!"
Although Ye Yu only had three High Mountain-Class Spaceships, they possessed formidable combat capabilities. Moreover, they had sufficient carrying capacity to accommodate a large number of Intelligent Unmanned Combat Ships.
"Hmph, whether we can successfully eliminate those medium-sized ships is one thing, but before that, how much risk will the stock unit face while luring the enemy? I believe Captain Ye should be well aware!" Li Zhe appeared as a holographic projection, yet everyone could sense his dissatisfaction with Ye Yu.
"Does Captain Ye intend to put his brothers in danger on his first mission?"
Li Zhe took a few steps closer to Ye Yu and continued, as if this would help him convey his point more clearly.
Ye Yu surveyed the faces around him and continued, "As the person in charge of this operation, I must lead by example. I will take on the role of bait for this mission!"
"You... alone?" Li Zhe was taken aback; he hadn't expected Ye Yu to voluntarily shoulder such a high-risk responsibility. As for Ship Three, Hulk will be in charge. The deployment of forces will be similar: three people will operate Ship Three to attack from nine o'clock while others pilot Fighter Jets in coordination with drones from twelve o'clock.
