Yinghua Avenue was a quiet yet bustling street, vibrant because it was the most concentrated area for luxury boutiques in the entire Derlin District, where every inch of space held significant value. It was quiet due to the gathering of social elites who dressed impeccably and preferred to enjoy the luxury around them in peace. At the heart of this street stood the ultra-premium Starry Sea Restaurant.
As the winter sun began to dispel the chill of late afternoon in the Federation, Ye Yu and his companions traveled in a crimson "Dragon" class business hovercar, its color gleaming under the sunlight. The driver maneuvered smoothly, while Ye Yu sat in front, quietly admiring the prosperity of Home Planet. Although there were no towering skyscrapers here, the deep historical essence was palpable. The seemingly worn buildings were crafted from rain flower stones sourced from Capitol Hill; these stones were remarkably durable, retaining their luster even after centuries of weathering. Of course, these structures had existed for over a thousand years, naturally bearing signs of age that spoke to their storied past. Whether it was the mightiest person or the hardest stone, none could escape the passage of time.
On either side of the street swayed evergreen trees, adorned with a variety of colorful cold-resistant flowers that infused the entire avenue with a sense of spring. Ye Yu quickly found himself captivated by the atmosphere, overwhelmed by a profound sense of history.
“Dear guests, we have arrived!” Just as Ye Yu was lost in thought, a trained voice broke through his reverie. This was not an electronic synthesized sound but rather a genuine human voice.
Ye Yu nodded and then noticed a deduction notification on the display screen on his wrist. The cost for this brief journey rivaled that of an ordinary second-hand hovercar. At that moment, he felt a twinge of extravagance and resolved to buy a hovercar once his business was concluded.
Nasha strode ahead with her tall figure, each step ascending the diamond steps as if she were a noble princess climbing towards glory. Behind her followed Wang Jiu, who occasionally stole glances at her graceful silhouette. In contrast, Xia Chiu remained lively, enthusiastically introducing Ye Yu to the restaurant's specialties despite having only dined there once on her eighteenth birthday. Chen Tang quietly brought up the rear.
“Hm?” Just as Ye Yu took a few steps forward, he suddenly felt a faint prickling sensation on his body. However, this feeling came and went swiftly; by the time he registered it, it had vanished completely. Everything that transpired in that moment felt like an illusion.
“What’s wrong, Brother Ye?” Xia Chiu noticed Ye Yu's momentary daze and slight change in expression and instinctively grabbed his arm with concern.
“Is someone watching us?” Ye Yu disregarded Xia Chiu's address and expressed his discomfort at having felt scrutinized so suddenly.
Xia Chiu turned her big dark eyes around but eventually pouted and said, “There shouldn’t be anyone; this is Federation Homeworld, one of the safest places around. How could anyone be watching us?”
“Not necessarily; everyone here is significant in their own right. Starry Sea must consider its guests' safety,” Chen Tang chimed in from behind after overhearing their conversation.
"Three of you, please leave your citizen identification codes, or you won't be able to enter!" A lazy voice interjected at an inappropriate moment; who else could it be but Wang Jiu?
"It seems that dining on Home Planet isn't as simple as it sounds," Ye Yu said with a hint of resignation, shaking his head. He just wanted to have a meal with everyone, yet they had to check their citizen identification codes. The identification code contained all the information about a citizen, even their daily necessities. However, under normal circumstances, only basic personal information could be accessed through the code.
"Silver Dragon Star?" The server responsible for entering guest information, dressed in a well-fitted black suit, glanced at the holographic projection and instinctively looked at Ye Yu to ask.
"What? People from Silver Dragon Star can't dine at your establishment?" Ye Yu raised an eyebrow, his eyes reflecting dissatisfaction. To be honest, ever since he had to leave Federation Homeworld eleven years ago, he had always harbored a subtle hostility toward this place.
The young server seemed taken aback by the sudden response, but upon realizing that Ye Yu was a student from First Military Academy, he immediately bowed respectfully and said, "Sir, you misunderstood. It's just that I haven't seen anyone from Silver Dragon Star in a long time; I lost my composure for a moment."
Ye Yu waved his hand; he wasn't genuinely upset. He then followed the server who led him and the others into a private room. As soon as the five entered, they felt as if they had stepped into a garden filled with birdsong and fragrant flowers. The air was infused with a light fragrance, complemented by the sounds of unknown birds chirping; for a moment, everyone's mood brightened considerably.
"This room simulates the scene from the famous painting 'Queen's Garden' by the great artist Vanshen from thousands of years ago. It also incorporates the simulator's own ideas; it feels more like a lover's harbor..." Nasha began to introduce the special private room as soon as she entered but soon her expression darkened.
"Others approach Peak only for power; no one believes that I actually like him... What a ridiculous world!"
Nasha continued speaking as if oblivious to her surroundings; she needed to vent. Although the Gao Family held significant power, Nasha was certainly not just a pawn that could be casually discarded.
"Sister Nasha, let's order!" Chen Tang noticed that several young people were taken aback by Nasha's sudden emotional outburst and quickly shifted the topic.
Ye Yu was not privy to these high-profile matters and naturally had no interest in them. At that moment, he sat comfortably in a chair designed for optimal ergonomic support and casually opened the electronic menu, ready to enjoy some delicious dishes.
"I'm sorry, everyone... I lost control for a moment," Nasha said. After all, she was not just an ordinary child from a common family; despite having been slapped in the face not long ago, she quickly adjusted her emotions.
"Since we have formed a team, we must aim for first place no matter what!" Nasha regained her somewhat cold demeanor, and as she spoke those words, everyone immediately felt her unreserved ambition.
This was not a game among friends; it was a real competition. Those individuals, whether in terms of family background or personal abilities, were far beyond what ordinary people could aspire to. As for Ye Yu and their team, they appeared to be the weakest group at this moment. For Nasha to aim for first place seemed almost an impossible task for the current team.
"I know many weaknesses of Peak and the others!" Sensing the doubts from the crowd, Nasha revealed her own leverage.
