Just as Ye Yu shouted, the previously fallen Furious Beast suddenly sprang back to life.
In an instant, a silver whip-like shadow shot towards Wang Jiu's body. This all happened in the blink of an eye. The moment Ye Yu called out, the silver whip had already formed.
With a sharp crack, Wang Jiu, who was trying to approach the Furious Beast, was sent flying backward.
As he hit the ground, Wang Jiu coughed up a mouthful of blood, his breath weak, as if he might stop breathing at any moment.
At that moment, Ye Yu had already rushed forward, standing right in front of the Furious Beast! The Furious Beast, having just unleashed a powerful attack, appeared unsteady and on the verge of collapsing.
However, Ye Yu dared not delay for even a second. As he approached, he drew his Quantum Blade.
A deep blue light instantly appeared in Ye Yu's hand.
Then, this light suddenly transformed into an arc-shaped blade that sliced down towards the head of the Furious Beast.
With a swift motion, everything unfolded in less than a blink of an eye. The Quantum Blade in Ye Yu's hand had already penetrated halfway into the Furious Beast's skull.
The Furious Beast didn't even have time to struggle before it lost all breath, dead beyond recovery.
Ye Yu let out a sigh of relief and turned to look at Wang Jiu, only to find him sitting up but looking rather pale.
"Can you hold on?" Ye Yu knew that even though this was a virtual world, being injured was still extremely unpleasant. Especially since Wang Jiu was clearly gravely wounded; it must have been hard for him.
"This little injury won't take me off the front lines," Wang Jiu replied, his breath somewhat erratic, but he still forced himself to sound upbeat.
Ye Yu nodded, understanding that Wang Jiu was considering the team's operational strategy and was unwilling to easily give up, as that would only increase the pressure on the team.
"I can operate the Laser Cannon and serve as a fire support point. You all won't have to worry about me!" Wang Jiu gritted his teeth and stood up. Although he usually seemed unreliable, he knew when to step up for the team in critical moments.
"Alright! Wang Jiu will serve as the heavy fire support. The rest of you, keep an eye on the enemy from all four directions and be ready to assist each other at any time!" Ye Yu instructed, realizing he had no better options.
At that moment, Nasha's expression suddenly changed, her face serious as she said, "Something's happening!"
At the same time, Ye Yu's demeanor shifted instantly; he sensed it too. Although he lacked Mental Power on the virtual battlefield, his extraordinary perception was kicking in.
"Southwest!" Nasha stated emphatically.
Everyone turned their gaze toward the Southwest and quickly spotted a dark shape appearing in their line of sight.
Soon, a second dark shape emerged!
Then a third...
A fourth...
...
By the time the eighth dark shape appeared, the first one had become clearly visible—it was a Furious Beast.
“Southwest! I will lead the attack with Nasha, while Xia Chiu and Brother Tang provide support! Wang Jiu, cover us with the Laser Cannon!” Ye Yu quickly made arrangements, aware that these beasts posed a significant threat to them. In the real world, he and Nasha had the most combat experience, taking the front lines as the main attackers, ready to engage in close combat if necessary.
As soon as Ye Yu finished speaking, Wang Jiu fired the Laser Cannon! A massive crimson beam shot out instantly, striking into the midst of the Furious Beasts.
“Damn it!” Wang Jiu cursed under his breath. He had just seen through the observation lens that the previous shot from the Laser Cannon hadn’t hit a single Furious Beast.
“Don’t let your guard down!” Ye Yu felt a twinge of anxiety; after all, he was still a young man under twenty and couldn’t remain completely calm in such a situation.
Wang Jiu nodded and continued to adjust his shooting angle, his expression extremely serious.
The eight Furious Beasts were moving at incredible speed; what had been mere black dots moments ago now revealed their sharp fangs within seconds.
Ye Yu focused intently, aiming his Phase Gun at one of the Furious Beasts and firing continuously. However, those Azure Marked Beasts seemed to have an uncanny ability to anticipate attacks, dodging the Laser Beam effortlessly.
“Form a Shooting Net! Concentrate fire on one Furious Beast!” Ye Yu quickly reacted. No matter how fast these beasts were, they could dodge a single death ray but would struggle against multiple Laser Beams.
The others immediately followed Ye Yu’s lead and began shooting in his direction. Sure enough, within just a few seconds, they turned one of the Furious Beasts into a sieve.
They repeated this tactic, focusing their fire on the foremost Furious Beast. In less than ten seconds, they had taken down five of them.
At this moment, two Furious Beasts had already approached Ye Yu’s defensive line, their bodies covered in pale blue blood and panting heavily as if they were about to collapse. However, one beast seemed frightened and stood still at a distance; its figure appeared somewhat elusive under the sunlight.
“Cornered beasts will fight back! Everyone be careful!” Ye Yu pulled out his Quantum Blade and glanced at Nasha, signaling her to stay alert.
At that moment, Ye Yu suddenly felt a gust of foul wind rising before him. Without any hesitation, he immediately leaped into the air.
In that instant, Ye Yu swung his Quantum Blade down towards the source of the foul wind. Everything happened in the blink of an eye; just as the wind began to stir, Ye Yu had already struck down with his blade.
A splash of light blue blood shot out from the point of impact, and a massive creature crashed to the ground—it was one of the injured Furious Beasts.
The other Furious Beast let out a furious roar upon seeing its companion slain and lunged forward. At that moment, Nasha's delicate figure suddenly leaped out, spinning sideways as she brought her blade down towards the injured Furious Beast.
With a swift slice, it was as if a sharp blade had pierced through a balloon; the other Furious Beast was cleaved in half from head to tail.
Wang Jiu watched this scene, shivering involuntarily, his face filled with shock as he pondered something unknown.
"Only one left!"
Ye Yu looked at the last Furious Beast not far away and rubbed his eyes, uncertain if he was seeing things. The previous seven Furious Beasts all had gray fur, but when he glanced at the final one, he noticed it was entirely snow-white, faintly shimmering with a golden glow.
"What... is going on?" Ye Yu felt a sense of foreboding; logically, these Furious Beasts shouldn't possess any emotions like fear. This meant that the one who hadn't approached earlier must have had its own plans!
"If I'm not mistaken, this Furious Beast is a rare variant!" Chen Tang said, his eyes filled with unease as he spoke slowly.
"What!" everyone exclaimed in unison.
