Yao Guang stood silently beside Xue, feeling an inexplicable anger coursing through her body. Lately, she had been overwhelmed by a desire to explode. Yao Guang knew this was not a good thing, but she couldn't control herself. 0

She felt troubled but didn't dare to confide in Xue. After all, Xue was already stressed about the Bandit Hideout situation, and this outing wasn't a significant issue. Yao Guang thought perhaps it was just her own recent irritability. So, she quietly kept this matter to herself. 0

While Yao Guang concealed her feelings, Jun Ruo inside the house was restless. 0

She was already on edge, and now the people in the village kept asking questions outside, leaving Jun Ruo with an unnamed frustration that had nowhere to go. 0

Unknowingly, the image of that man from earlier resurfaced in Jun Ruo's mind. Just thinking about him made her heart race uncontrollably. 0

“Oh no.” Jun Ruo suddenly remembered that because of this inexplicable man, she hadn’t accomplished what she intended to do, and she had no idea if Hu Qing had left. 0

Jun Ruo hurriedly slipped away from behind the window and rushed back to where she had been before. 0

Fortunately, it was still early, and when Jun Ruo arrived at the location, there was no sign of disturbance. 0

“You're here!” 0

Before she could steady herself, Jun Ruo heard a voice behind her. Turning around, she found it was the same man from earlier. 0

“You? Why are you still here?” Jun Ruo hadn't expected him to still be around. 0

“I was waiting for you.” His casual tone annoyed Jun Ruo greatly. 0

“Since you've waited for me, please leave.” Jun Ruo was always blunt with those she disliked. 0

The man held a fan in his hand, waving it lightly as he smiled and said, "Xiao Junru, you weren't this boring before!" 0

"You know me?" Jun Ruo couldn't recall such a person. Although the face seemed somewhat familiar, she felt an indescribable sensation, as if he was someone she knew, yet not quite. 0

"Weren't you just saying you recognized me? How come you're denying it so quickly?" 0

This person seemed to have no sense of seriousness; he spoke casually and occasionally threw flirtatious glances at Jun Ruo. 0

"Oh, I must have mistaken you for someone else. I don't know you," Jun Ruo said, turning to leave. She had important matters to attend to and didn't want to waste time with someone so frivolous. 0

"Step aside!" Jun Ruo said upon seeing the fan blocking her path. 0

"What if I don't?" the man replied with a cheeky grin. 0

Jun Ruo was no longer interested in continuing the conversation. She had probably encountered a ghost earlier, allowing such a person to disturb her thoughts. Now she was certain that she would never know someone like him. 0

Her grip tightened around the sword in her hand. If he blocked her again, she wouldn't hold back. 0

"Don't be like that! Just like old times—don't jump to violence just because we’re not on good terms!" The man noticed Jun Ruo's intent to fight and quickly put away his fan, stepping back from her. 0

His tone was oddly familiar, as if they were very close. He had just mentioned something about "dying." Although he quickly changed the subject, Jun Ruo was sure she hadn't misheard; her hearing had always been excellent. 0

"If you don't want me to act, then get out of my way!" As soon as she finished speaking, the man suddenly stepped aside to create space for her. 0

To her surprise, he complied quite well. Since that was the case, Jun Ruo prepared to leave without further hesitation. 0

"Don't you want to know where Hu Qing is?" 0

Damn it! Jun Ruo knew it; this man was difficult to deal with. Even in such a short time, Jun Ruo could feel that this man was deliberately challenging her limits. 0

"Where is he?" 0

Although Jun Ruo had her sword pressed against his neck, the man showed no sign of fear. On the contrary, there was a slight smile on his face. 0

"Xiao Junru, don't be anxious. I will tell you everything you need to know. But could you please remove that from my neck? I really don't want to be killed by you for no reason." 0

Hearing his words, Jun Ruo thought for a moment and then withdrew her sword, sheathing it back into its scabbard. 0

"Hurry up, I don't have much patience," Jun Ruo said, looking at the man who was now rubbing his neck. 0

"Alright, alright, it's me," the man said, waving his hand in resignation upon seeing Jun Ruo's anxious expression. "He’s dead!" 0

"What? He’s dead?!" Jun Ruo was taken aback by this news. 0

"Yes, he’s dead. Is that surprising? Shouldn't someone like him be dead?" The man across from her shrugged nonchalantly while digging in his ear. 0

Isn't this important? She had come here specifically for this matter. The person she had been waiting for was gone, and now someone was telling her that the person she had been waiting for was dead! 0

"How did he die?" Jun Ruo asked. 0

"Hey, Xiao Junru, do you really not remember? Didn't you kill him?" The man looked at Jun Ruo with a serious expression. 0

"What? I killed him?" Jun Ruo thought. Ever since receiving the news, she had never seen Hu Qing, let alone killed him. 0

"Xiao Junru, have you forgotten? You stabbed him again and again, all because you wanted to avenge one of your subordinates. By the way, that subordinate was named Zuo Wu." 0

Zuo Wu! This name was unknown to the people at Bandit Hideout; only Jun Ruo knew that Zuo Wu was Old Five's name! How did this man know Old Five's name? So, was he an enemy or a friend? 0

"Xiao Junru, there's no need to be nervous. I'm just here to see you; after all, I haven't seen you in a long time." Seeing Jun Ruo's guarded demeanor, the man suddenly changed his expression, revealing a hint of inexplicable sadness. 0

Jun Ruo looked at the man's once-bright face now tinged with sorrow. She felt a pang of sadness herself; this man's grief was genuine! 0

"Xiao Junru, it seems that what that Taoist said is true. Have you really forgotten everything?" The man noticed the confusion in Jun Ruo's eyes, and the sadness in his gaze became even more apparent. 0

"I..." Jun Ruo didn't know how to respond. The familiarity she felt from this man and his earlier words had already convinced her that he must know her. 0

"You..." Before she could finish her sentence, the man suddenly splashed her face with something. 0

"That was a mistake!" The only thought in Jun Ruo's mind before she fainted was this. 0

"Xiao Junru!" The man looked down at Xiao Junru in his arms, murmuring to himself. (To be continued.) 0
