I was indeed afraid of ghosts, just like any normal person would be. However, my fear had lessened somewhat after I had actually encountered a ghost and even had a confrontation with one. 0

Holding the key, I entered the College of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry's Laboratory Building. I climbed to the third floor and found Sun Mei's phone on the lab table. 0

The entire Laboratory Building was dark, and I was all alone, with the occasional sounds of animals calling out echoing in the silence. 0

I felt a bit scared myself. After retrieving the phone, I hurried downstairs and closed the main door of the Laboratory Building behind me, finally letting out a sigh of relief. 0

I returned to Sun Mei's dormitory and handed her the Huawei P9. 0

Sun Mei's face lit up with joy upon seeing her phone. "Thank you so much! You're becoming our idol!" she exclaimed. 0

It felt great to be admired by a girl. 0

I chuckled lightly. "Honestly, there are no ghosts; we just scare ourselves." 0

Sun Mei took a sip from her teacup, looking a bit embarrassed. "I know it was just me scaring myself, but at that moment, I felt so cold and thought I saw shadows moving around. I nearly died of fright." 0

"Haha," I laughed. "There's really nothing to be afraid of. If you're scared, you can always keep that sheep company." 0

"What sheep?" Sun Mei looked at me curiously. 0

"The one next door in your lab, making all that 'baa baa' noise," I replied. 0

Clang! 0

Sun Mei's cup slipped from her hand and shattered on the floor. The other girls screamed and shrank back into their blankets, trembling uncontrollably. 0

I was still puzzled. 0

Sun Mei's voice trembled slightly as she said, "Song Fei, please... don't scare us. There are no sheep, no living animals in the Laboratory Building." 0

Upon hearing this, I was surprised as well. 0

At that moment, there was a loud thud as a girl in a white floral nightgown rolled off the bed and lay motionless on the floor. 0

Seeing this, I realized she had fainted from fright. I quickly picked her up and placed her back on her bed, pinching her acupoint to revive her. 0

Before long, the girl woke up, sobbing. She explained that she had been dreaming for days about a sheep that kept chasing her, bleeding and relentless. 0

Now I understood that the reason several people in Sun Mei's dormitory were feeling cold and feverish wasn't due to illness but rather from being scared. According to traditional Chinese medicine, when evil energy enters the body, it disturbs the spirit and causes unrest. 0

I said, "You all stay here in the dormitory for now. I'll go find out what to do. Don't worry; there's nothing to fear from ghosts or spirits." 0

"Song Fei, please help us! Otherwise, we might have to drop out," Sun Mei pleaded, gripping my hand tightly. 0

I patted her hand reassuringly before heading out of the Girls' Dormitory and running toward my own dorm. Although I wasn't very knowledgeable about ghosts and spirits, Yang Gou Dan certainly was. He was the Master of Restraint, a true disciple of Shaolin. 0

When I returned to my dormitory, I found Yang Gou Dan sitting at the desk next to Chi Xiang, both of them engrossed in their computers and playing games. 0

"What the hell! Why did I die again? Why is my health so low?" Yang Gou Dan exclaimed as he slammed his mouse down, showing none of the composure expected from a monk. 0

Chi Xiang sighed. "I told you not to pick Blind Monk at the start! You could have chosen Darius from Demacia; he's so cool!" 0

Yang Gou Dan retorted defiantly, "Nonsense! I don't want to use such a stupid hero! I want to play as the monk. Revive me quickly; let's go into the jungle and take down their Sword Saint." 0

I saw Chi Xiang taking Yang Gou Dan to play League of Legends, so I hurried over and said, "Chi Xiang, what are you doing? You let him play games like this?" 0

Chi Xiang chuckled, "It's fine, it's just a student." 0

I reached out and patted Yang Gou Dan's bald head. "Dog Egg, stop playing. Come with me to catch ghosts." 0

Yang Gou Dan pushed my hand away. "Don't disturb me! Buddha, I'm not catching ghosts right now; I want to jungle. What the hell! This Master Yi is amazing! Chi Xiang, come over here!" 0

I started to panic. I had brought Yang Gou Dan to the dormitory to keep him safe, and now he was with Chi Xiang—this was practically pushing the kid into a fire pit. 0

I covered the computer keyboard with my hand. "Dog Egg, I'm not joking! There really are ghosts around; come with me right now. Several people have been scared by ghosts and are running fevers!" 0

Yang Gou Dan glanced at me and then said, "Huh? Your face looks a bit pale; it seems you've indeed had close encounters with ghosts. But there's no danger; you can go by yourself." 0

"I'm not going to catch ghosts!" I exclaimed. "If you keep playing, I'll shut down your computer!" 0

Yang Gou Dan quickly begged, "Don't turn it off! What's going on with you?" 0

I explained, "There's a ghost in the Laboratory Building; it seems to be a sheep. A few people doing experiments have fallen ill. I've even heard sheep bleating. You should come with me." 0

When Yang Gou Dan heard this, he replied, "That's simple! Livestock generally don't turn into ghosts. Whether it's a ghost or a corpse, it's because they died with grievances. Animals have simple thoughts and little resentment; it's hard for them to form spirits. Even if they do become ghosts, they're just ordinary wandering souls—not as powerful as wild monsters. You don't need to worry." 0

"Damn..." I was speechless. How could ordinary wandering spirits compare to wild monsters in the game? I was truly at a loss. 0

Yang Gou Dan continued, "I'll teach you three incantations: the Rebirth Mantra. When the time comes, offer it some food to relieve its resentment, then recite the Rebirth Mantra three times." 0

With that, Yang Gou Dan began mumbling three lines of scripture. 0

The scripture is somewhat similar to the Great Compassion Mantra. Anyway, I can't write it out in Chinese characters, but I can read it—something like "Beibei Hong Amitabha Mami Hong." 0

After Yang Gou Dan finished teaching me, he pushed me away, saying, "Alright, alright, you should go now. Take advantage of the night to guide that creature. If I don't level up soon, I'm going to be useless." 0

"You're really not going?" I tried to grab Yang Gou Dan's mouse. 0

Chi Xiang, who couldn't stand it any longer, suddenly stood up and pushed me. "Fei Ge, stop whining and acting all mysterious. If you don't leave now, we're going to lose this round! Even if Blind Monk is useless, he still has some role to play. Stop with the ghost and god nonsense; do you think this is Strange Tales?" 0

With that, Chi Xiang pushed me away. He clearly didn't believe in any ghosts or gods, and then he and Yang Gou Dan went back to playing their game. 0

I could only smile bitterly; I had never seen such useless teammates. 0

I thought about the incantation Yang Gou Dan had just taught me and felt there was no problem with it. After all, I wasn't afraid of spirits like Lian; why would I be scared of a goat? 0

Looking at the time, it was almost midnight. According to Yang Gou Dan's method, I needed to perform the guiding ritual while the Eerie Energy was at its peak. If I waited too long, that goat wouldn't dare to show itself. 0

I returned to Sun Mei's dormitory. 0

Sun Mei asked how it went. 0

I hesitated to mention Yang Gou Dan's instructions and said, "It's fine; it's just a ghost disturbance. We need to go over there and guide the spirit. Can you give me the lab key? I'll go perform the ritual." 0

"Huh?" Sun Mei looked at me curiously and glanced behind me. "Isn't there anyone else? Just you?" 0

I nodded. "It's not dangerous; don't worry." 0

Sun Mei thought for a moment and said, "Well... okay then. We'll go with you." 0

I agreed, thinking there wasn't much danger anyway. 0

The six women in Sun Mei's dormitory began to wake up and get dressed. I leaned against them, pondering how, after twenty years of being a novice, my luck with romance had suddenly skyrocketed. First, I had a fling with Sister Yun, and now I was going in and out of the Girls' Dormitory. 0

With so many people around, I felt less afraid. 0

The seven of us made our way toward the College of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry's Laboratory Building in the middle of the night. 0

The agricultural and animal husbandry major actually has a pretty good job outlook. Although it sounds a bit niche, graduates tend to earn good salaries, usually working in fourth or fifth-tier cities where wages are high and housing prices are low. The quality of life is often better than that of medical professionals. 0

Once we entered the Laboratory Building, we turned on all the lights. 0

I heard the faint bleating of sheep, but it seemed like Sun Mei and the others didn't react at all; they probably couldn't hear it. 0

I reached the third floor and pointed to a laboratory. "This is it." 0

Sun Mei's hands began to tremble as she held the beast's soul. She tried to insert it several times but couldn't manage it. 0

I took the key from her and opened the lab door. 0

As soon as I opened it, a strong smell of formaldehyde wafted out, making me feel slightly nauseous. A chill immediately enveloped me. 0

The six girls huddled together, clearly feeling that coldness too. 0

Sun Mei wanted to turn on the lights, but I stopped her. I was here to guide the goat's soul; if I scared it away, it would be troublesome. 0

Under the moonlight, the entire laboratory felt dim. 0

I glanced around, noticing that the shelves were filled with jars and bottles containing hearts, lungs, embryos, brains, and more. It seemed this was a place for preserving specimens. 0

As I walked around two shelves, I spotted a shadow—a large-bellied female goat standing by the shelf, licking a bottle in front of her with her tongue. Inside that bottle was a complete, dark mass that looked like an embryo. 0

At that moment, I understood. It seemed that the goat had not only become a ghost due to resentment but also out of maternal love. 0

Six people from Sun Mei huddled together as they approached. 0

Sun Mei trembled and whispered, "Song Fei, what’s going on?" 0

"I’ve seen it. Did you really turn its child into a specimen in front of Old Goat?" I pointed to the jar over there. 0

Sun Mei gasped and covered her mouth tightly. After a long pause, she said, "There was no other way. The embryo had to be taken fresh to create a more vivid specimen." 0

I sighed. "Yes, but you shouldn’t do it in front of Old Goat. Maternal love... sigh. Never mind, go find a container and some alcohol. Let’s burn that embryo." 0
