Qin Hai immediately became displeased when he heard me. His lips trembled as he said, "Don't look at me like that. I'm a police officer. I've been to all kinds of murder scenes during my internship!" 0

I replied, "Then can you please let go of my hand? Your palm is all sweaty; you're about to crush my hand!" 0

Qin Hai chuckled and then released my grip. 0

Being led by a big man like that was quite uncomfortable for me. 0

I wiped the sweat from my palm on my pants. To be honest, I was scared too, but then I thought, what do I have to be afraid of? Back in Shantai Village, I had seen so many ghosts; they were everywhere. What was there to fear about a murder scene? 0

I walked further inside until I reached the spot where Sister Yun had hanged herself. 0

This area was cordoned off by the police with caution tape. 0

I tore the tape open and stepped inside. 0

"Ha ha ha ha..." 0

A series of bell-like laughter echoed around me. 0

I suddenly froze in my tracks. 0

Qin Hai clearly hadn't heard it. He was startled when he saw me stop abruptly and asked, "What are you doing?" 0

I waved my hand, signaling Qin Hai to be quiet. 0

I looked at the shadow, "Sister Yun?" 0

"Giggle... You've come? Did you bring me a heart?" The shadow floated closer to me, and the temperature around us dropped even further. 0

Qin Hai was trembling in fear, clutching the back of my shirt. "Song Fei, who are you talking to? Don't scare me! Why is it getting colder? What the hell! I'm freezing to death." By the end of his sentence, his teeth were chattering. 0

I ignored him and focused on the dark figure. "Sister Yun, what heart do you want? What do you need a heart for?" 0

"I don't have a heart anymore. I want a heart; give me yours, okay?" The shadow had drifted right next to me. 0

The figure was somewhat blurry, but I could see that although it had the same build and voice as Sister Yun, the tone was different. Sister Yun had always been quite serious, but this voice was flirtatious and sweet, making my bones feel weak. 0

"You’re not Sister Yun! Who are you really? You’re the one who caused Sister Yun's death, aren’t you?" I shouted. 0

"Giggle... Just give me your heart." The shadow floated up to my face. This time, I saw clearly: the face was covered with a mask, and those dark, hollow eyes filled me with terror. 0

I knew this couldn't be Sister Yun's ghost. I quickly pulled out the bell from my bag and shook it at the shadow. 0

"Ding-a-ling... Ding-a-ling..." 0

But the shadow continued to giggle. Suddenly, it reached out its hands toward my chest. 0

"Shh..." 0

It felt like being electrocuted! 0

My whole body went numb as the shadow trembled slightly, crackling with white smoke. 0

"Run... fly... run fast..." The shadow suddenly spoke, and this time, it was Sister Yun's voice! 0

I was taken aback for a moment and quickly shouted, "Sister Yun! Sister Yun, what happened? Is this ghost really you?" 0

"Run! Fly!" Sister Yun urged again. 0

As soon as she finished speaking, the ghost let out a sudden, eerie giggle, transforming into another figure. 0

"This body of yours is quite troublesome, but I like it," the Evil Spirit laughed sweetly, lunging toward me once more. 0

In that instant, my mind cleared significantly. I suddenly realized that Sister Yun was entangled with this Evil Spirit! Moreover, the reason the Evil Spirit was not afraid of the Corpse-Subduing Bell earlier was that she was a ghost, while the Corpse-Subduing Bell was meant to subdue corpses! 0

How foolish of me! I had tried to use something designed to deter corpses against a ghost. 0

I quickly reached into my bag again and put the bell away. This time, I pulled out a talisman—two Yellow Talismans that I had taken from Master Ma's belongings. 0

I wasn't sure how to use them, but without thinking much, I took one of the Yellow Talismans and pressed it against the shadow in front of me. 0

At that moment, the shadow was about to dig into my heart again. 0

The Yellow Talisman in my hand stuck to its shoulder. 0

"Crackle..." 0

It was like a flash of lightning. 0

Then, the female ghost erupted in a cloud of green smoke. 0

She screamed sharply and dashed away into the distance, and amidst her cries, I seemed to hear Sister Yun's voice weeping. 0

Why was Sister Yun sharing the same ghost as this woman? 0

I had fully realized the problem. No wonder I felt something was off about Sister Yun earlier! In fact, Sister Yun must have already been possessed by a ghost when she was alive! 0

She had told me she felt a bit feverish, and she had given me a strange smile. She wore that short and revealing dress and even made advances to get me into bed. So it turned out that Sister Yun was already possessed by a ghost? 0

But wait, I should be able to see ghosts! Why hadn’t I noticed it before? 0

"Thud!" 0

Qin Hai, who was behind me, suddenly knelt on the ground, clutching my leg as if begging. 0

I kicked Qin Hai and said, "What are you doing?" 0

His teeth were chattering as he replied, "Ghost... ghost... there really is a ghost... Song Fei, you... you are really fighting with a ghost." 0

I asked, "You can see the ghost too?" 0

Qin Hai nodded and then shook his head. "I couldn't see it before, but when that yellow paper you held touched it, and it started burning, I really saw it. Damn... there really is a ghost, and it's wearing a mask!" 0

"That's not a mask; it's a Face Mask!" I corrected him. 0

"Why would a ghost... t-t-t-t... wear a Face Mask? Oh right, when Wang Yun died, she seemed to be wearing a Face Mask too." Qin Hai stuttered as he spoke. 0

Hearing this from Qin Hai made my heart skip a beat. I immediately understood where the problem lay. 0

I pulled Qin Hai up and headed outside. 0

"Hey, where are you going?" Qin Hai clung to my arm. 0

"I'm going to the police station to find that Face Mask. Where did you put it? You haven't burned it yet, have you?" 0

"No, we haven't." Qin Hai looked puzzled by my words, but he still followed me out of the café. 0

Once outside, I locked the café door. Qin Hai pointed to a motorcycle. "Why don't you ride?" 0

I felt a bit embarrassed. "Um, I can't." 0

Qin Hai chuckled, as if regaining some dignity. "I was just joking! I knew you couldn't ride. You know, nothing escapes my keen eye, Brother Hai! Come on, I'll take you to the police station." 0

I didn't want to burst his bubble; after all, this goofball had been pretty scared inside earlier. 0

I sat behind him on the motorcycle, my mind becoming clearer. It seemed all the problems revolved around that Face Mask. No wonder Sister Yun insisted on wearing it during our intimate moments. Moreover, I couldn't help but notice that Sister Yun's face seemed much more radiant and smooth than before! 0

That Face Mask definitely had something going on. 0

Qin Hai sped through the streets until we arrived at the East Sea City Public Security Bureau's Forensic Department. After showing his ID to the duty officer, he led me inside. 0

There was a young forensic doctor napping in the break room. 0

Qin Hai walked over and knocked on the door loudly, waking the Young Forensic Doctor. 0

"Take us to see Wang Yun's body," Qin Hai ordered. Clearly, he held a higher status than this forensic doctor, who was probably just an intern or something similar. 0

The Young Forensic Doctor rubbed his eyes and led us further inside, stopping in front of a row of freezers. He checked the numbers and then opened one of the drawers, pulling out a body. 0

Inside was Wang Yun's corpse, but it had shriveled somewhat. Originally standing at one hundred sixty-five centimeters, Sister Yun was now barely one hundred fifty. 0

I looked at Sister Yun's body, feeling a bit of a sting in my nose. 0

"Hey?" the Young Forensic Doctor suddenly exclaimed. 0

"Damn, what is it!" Qin Hai jumped, cursing at the forensic doctor. 0

The Young Forensic Doctor pulled back the white sheet covering Wang Yun's chest and pressed down on it. His expression changed. "The deceased hasn't been autopsied yet, so why is the heart missing?" 0

"Damn!" 0

Qin Hai immediately ducked behind me. 0

I was just as confused. "How do you know the heart is gone?" 0

The Young Forensic Doctor seemed unfazed by our reactions; he pressed down twice more. "The cavity where the heart should be is sunken. Normally, after a person dies, air escapes from the chest, causing it to flatten and revealing the heart. But in this case... the heart is clearly missing." 0

I didn't want to watch the forensic doctor poking around Sister Yun's body, and I knew that her missing heart had to be related to that ghost. No wonder that ghost was so intent on getting my heart. 0

"I think we should stop for now; it's creepy looking at a corpse late at night. Can you put her back? Where's the face mask from the body?" 0

The Young Forensic Doctor quickly returned the heart to the freezer and pointed to the side. "It should be stored in the Evidence Storage Room." 0

We entered the evidence room and soon found the brownish-red face mask. 0

Qin Hai became animated again, pointing at the Face Mask. "I got it! This Face Mask must have something wrong with it!" 0

I looked at Qin Hai. 0

With a smug expression, Qin Hai continued, "You know, Fei, nothing can escape my keen eye. This Face Mask definitely has a hallucinogen! It's some kind of drug that caused Wang Yun to hallucinate, ultimately leading her to hang herself!" 0

"Brilliant!" the Young Forensic Doctor admired Qin Hai. 0

I couldn't hold back any longer. "Coast Guard Officer, since I've known you, your keen eye has never guessed right! But this time, I think you might be onto something. Let's start with this Face Mask and see if there really is any drug on it. Also, let's investigate where this Face Mask came from!" 0
