I don't even know how this big black dog transformed from a hellfire Tibetan Mastiff into the adorable black dog it is now. The black dog can understand what I say, but explaining things to me or making me understand its intentions is quite difficult.
The key issue is that I have no idea how to turn this big black dog back; it has completely become a Chinese Rural Dog, lacking any impressive traits!
Well, although it can't revert back, this dog is obedient and quite endearing, making it a good companion to have by my side.
I named him Heizi. If Heizi can transform back within this month, then our chances of success for the upcoming full moon night operation will greatly increase.
I continued practicing the Witch Dance at the café.
On the morning of the third day, a car pulled up at the café, and out stepped Liu Yiyi.
This year in Donghai City, the weather has been sweltering—first heavy rains, and now high temperatures, making it quite humid. Liu Yiyi broke her usual style by wearing a thigh-length dress. When she walked into the café, I heard a collective gulp from those around me.
Honestly, I found myself staring at Liu Yiyi's legs for three seconds.
However, I couldn't act like those lecherous students; after all, I was considered Liu Yiyi's potential boyfriend.
Liu Yiyi smiled at me, looking very cheerful and like a typical student girl.
I smiled back at her.
"Let's have lunch together this afternoon," Liu Yiyi said.
I nodded immediately. "Sure, sounds great."
Liu Yiyi arched her eyebrows and continued, "Come over to my house for lunch."
As soon as I heard that, I became even more excited and nodded vigorously. "Sure, sure!"
Liu Yiyi responded with a hum, "Alright, I'll pick you up in the afternoon. My mom cooks really well."
"Sounds good... uh..." I accidentally sprayed a mouthful of air onto Liu Yiyi's face.
Liu Yiyi laughed, her eyebrows arched in amusement. "Just promise me you'll come, don't forget, okay?"
"Hey! What's going on?" I felt nervous—really nervous. I hadn't even become Liu Yiyi's official boyfriend yet, and now I was supposed to meet her mother?
I quickly added, "Um... Yiyi, isn't this a bit too fast?"
"Too fast? What do you mean?" Liu Yiyi asked.
I replied, "Think about it. We haven't even kissed yet, and I'm already going to meet your mother. Isn't that a bit inappropriate?"
Liu Yiyi chuckled and playfully tapped me. "Don't be ridiculous! Meeting my mother is just an invitation for you to come over for dinner. It's just as classmates and important business partners. After all, my company has been doing so well thanks to you. My grandpa and dad want to meet you too."
I swallowed hard. Even though Liu Yiyi said that, I still felt anxious. I looked at her and asked, "Do I really have to go?"
"You definitely have to go," Liu Yiyi affirmed with a nod.
I sighed. "Alright then, I'll go buy some new clothes, get a haircut, take a shower, and put on fresh underwear, new clothes, and new socks..."
"Get lost!" Liu Yiyi smacked me lightly. "It's settled then... Oh wait, do you have a dog now?"
"Ah! His name is Heizi."
Heizi lay at my feet, glancing at Liu Yiyi before curling up and continuing to sleep.
I felt a surge of irritation and kicked Heizi lightly. "Heizi, come on, greet your mistress."
Heizi remained sprawled there, ignoring me completely.
Liu Yiyi laughed, her amusement evident. "Wow, the dog you raised is quite aloof. Perfect! My grandmother loves animals, so when you bring it over, my mom will make it some bones to eat."
"Woof..."
Heizi suddenly jumped up, wagging its tail around Liu Yiyi, playfully rolling over and sticking out its tongue in an adorable manner.
Liu Yiyi was taken aback for a moment, then bent down to pet Heizi's head. "Song Fei, your dog is too smart."
I looked down, about to say something, when I noticed from my angle that I could see the white fabric of Liu Yiyi's blouse and a deep neckline.
I swallowed hard, unsure of how to respond.
After a few pats, Liu Yiyi raised her head in confusion and, seeing my expression, gave me a playful slap. "It's settled then! I'll pick you up this afternoon, along with your dog. Off you go now, you pervert! Next time I catch you staring like that, I'll poke your eyes out."
I chuckled as I saw Liu Yiyi out.
I had no idea why Liu Yiyi suddenly wanted me to come over for dinner, but it was a good opportunity. After all, if I wanted to pursue Liu Yiyi, one major hurdle would be whether I could survive meeting her family. If I managed that, the biggest challenge would be her family's approval since they ran a family business where marriage wasn't exactly free-spirited.
I needed to leave a good impression on Liu Yiyi's family.
I immediately headed out to the streets, got a haircut and styled myself nicely, and changed into some decent clothes. Finally, I gave Heizi a thorough bath as well.
In the afternoon, Liu Yiyi drove over in her Jaguar, picking me and Heizi up as we headed towards the suburbs.
The villa area in the suburbs looked quite ordinary at first, but once we entered, it became clear that the security and landscaping were exceptionally well done.
I was quite nervous before meeting Liu Yiyi's family, but once I actually met them, I completely relaxed. Aside from Liu Yiyi's grandfather being a bit too serious, everyone else was warm and polite. It was easy to see why someone like Liu Yiyi, who seemed like such an elder sister figure, had no trace of a princess complex; instead, she was particularly cheerful and kind.
Especially her grandmother, who seemed to take a liking to me. Of course, she adored Heizi even more. Liu Yiyi's grandmother had a Big Cat that was always close to her. When she saw Heizi, she couldn't help but be fond of him. Naturally, since Heizi could understand human speech, it made it easier for him to win her over.
In short, Heizi earned me a lot of points.
After finishing dinner and getting ready to leave, Liu Yiyi's grandmother insisted on giving me all the bones, meat, chicken, and fish to take home for Heizi.
I was truly amazed.
By the time we finished dinner and headed back, it was already dark. I let out a sigh of relief and turned to Liu Yiyi. "Hey, Yiyi, did I do okay? If I were to marry into your family, they should be able to accept me, right?"
Liu Yiyi pouted. "Don't get too cocky. You should know that your competitors are quite formidable!"
"Who? Do I have rivals? Who are they? Tell me so I can have Heizi bite them into eunuchs first."
"You’re such a rogue!" Liu Yiyi laughed.
Liu Yiyi seemed satisfied with my performance today, and of course, Heizi played a part in that.
Once we returned to the café, I didn’t give the leftovers to Heizi but instead shared them with Chi Xiang and Yang Gou Dan. For this decision, Heizi was quite displeased. However, to be honest, even at the finest restaurant, those dishes would be hard to replicate; after all, Liu Yiyi's mother's cooking was truly exceptional.
Chi Xiang grumbled while eating that I was an animal for actually taking Liu Yiyi out and even meeting her family.
I chuckled lightly, feeling a certain understanding had developed between Liu Yiyi and me.
Although we had never mentioned anything about being in a relationship, I was confident that if I survived this ordeal, we would definitely be together. The only significant obstacle would be her family.
Liu Yiyi had always been a very clever girl, and there was undoubtedly a reason she brought me to her home.
To win her heart, I needed to work hard on my witchcraft and ensure I returned alive.
I had expanded a bedroom in the café, allowing me to practice on the grass behind it. Chi Xiang, I felt like a beast; every time I slept next to Zhang Yuru, we were separated by just a wooden board. I was either a monster or worse than one.
I couldn't be bothered with that thought.
On the third day, I got up in the morning, washed up, and prepared to practice my witchcraft.
Zhang Yuru was sitting on the sofa in her pajamas, playing on her phone.
I glanced over and asked, "Hey, why aren't you changing clothes and opening up for customers?"
"Open for your sister! I'm not opening the shop today. I'm exhausted from working all the time. From now on, I'll only open four days a week and take three days off," Zhang Yuru replied angrily.
I laughed and said, "Alright, suit yourself. If you're not making money and losing out, it's your own loss."
Zhang Yuru waved her phone dismissively. "What’s the point of running a lousy café? Look at this headline from Bright Daily News in Donghai City: 'A Cat Worth One Million! Find this cat and receive a reward of one million!' I've been working my fingers to the bone for ten years; it’s not worth it compared to finding a cat!"
I chuckled again. "Whose cat is so precious? Is it made of gold?"
I took out my phone and casually browsed through the local forum in Donghai City.
Sure enough, everyone was brushing the lost cat. Some people are still in the hair class, so hurry up and find the cat. If you find it, you will have to struggle for twenty years. It's not like some people actually catch cats and eat cat meat. Eating that stuff will attract ghosts. Then someone replied that you know nothing. Cat meat and tiger meat are the same. Tiger Bone is specially used to treat Rheumatism. In fact, there are so many Tiger Bone. They are all made of cat bones. Eat cats. Meat can also cure Rheumatism. Then someone below sighed, what we are eating is not meat, what we are eating is a house! ... A bunch of people were making fun of them, and I didn't bother to take a closer look. As I was scrolling down, my phone message rang.
