Several days had passed since that farce. Time flew, and before long, it was November 1st.
Li Hong, after reprimanding several members of Soulmate for their questionable conduct, had managed to clean up Sweet Potato Films quite a bit. The flamboyant style that had previously prevailed was significantly curbed.
In fact, to prevent the spread of such an atmosphere, Li Hong even established strict punitive regulations.
As for the effectiveness of these measures, that remained to be seen.
Recently, Sweet Potato Films' in-house lawyer, Zhang Yi, had been running around tirelessly and finally managed to complete the procedures for the new company, Fist Game.
This meant that Mark and the others had transitioned from being affiliated with Sweet Potato Films to becoming employees of Riot Games.
Of course, none of this was the most important matter at hand.
I Am Red Riding Hood, I Love the Big Bad Wolf was about to be released!
Indeed, after more than ten days of buildup, this film, which had faced numerous challenges, was finally set to premiere.
Fortunately, by this time, the drama involving Sweet Potato Films and Luhan had cooled down, allowing Charlie's promotional efforts to proceed much more smoothly.
Naturally, this also related to the fact that many viewers only paid attention to the film's title and rarely focused on the production company. However, while most audiences overlooked it, many keen observers noticed the prominent name of Sweet Potato Films.
In no time at all, Sweet Potato Films found itself back at the top of Meager's trending searches.
But by this point, few people were concerned about such matters.
"Well, if it's good, I won't complain. But if it's not..." Xia Shengyang thought to himself.
He had booked tickets for the premiere of "I Am Red Riding Hood, I Love the Big Bad Wolf," but then a scandal broke out involving the production company, Sweet Potato Films.
He didn't regret it because he knew it was false, but there was nothing he could do.
If he canceled his ticket, he would only get half of the refund. This left Xia Shengyang feeling reluctant; he had to at least see the movie.
If he didn't watch it and just canceled, wouldn't that be a huge loss?
"The Strongest Sci-Fi Pure Love Movie in History," he hoped it would be worth the ticket price. Xia Shengyang felt quite anxious.
He had been a bystander during the drama between Sweet Potato Films and Luhan, and he had seen everything clearly.
To be honest, if he had known this was a movie produced by Sweet Potato Films from the start, he wouldn't have gone to see it.
But now that the tickets were already booked, there was no turning back. Especially since this film was promoted as "The Strongest Sci-Fi Pure Love Movie in History." It clearly piqued Xia Shengyang's curiosity.
It was this complex mix of thoughts that led Xia Shengyang to decide to check out the cinema after all.
As he walked through the ticket-checking area, he hadn't taken more than a few steps when he suddenly saw a large group of Masked Men emerge behind him, flocking together in a rush.
Xia Shengyang was a bit confused; weren't these people waiting in another line for ticket checks? Why were they all rushing over now?
"Hey buddy, are you here to watch that Loser movie too?" Xia Shengyang tapped the shoulder of a Masked Man behind him, asking curiously.
"Yeah." The Masked Man didn't want to say much, merely nodding blankly.
Seeing that the other person wasn't interested in chatting, Xia Shengyang turned and entered the screening room after showing his ticket.
Once Xia Shengyang left, the Masked Man let out a sigh of relief.
"Damn it, do we really have to sneak around to watch this?" the Masked Man asked someone behind him.
A weary voice came from behind, "Alright, alright. We're public figures after all; it's better to avoid unnecessary trouble. If those reporters catch us going to see a Sweet Potato Films movie, who knows what kind of headlines they'll come up with."
"Start with a picture, and the rest is all made up!" the Masked Man nodded in agreement.
Soon, the ticket-checking line reached these masked individuals.
Finding his seat, Xia Shengyang wiggled around until he settled into a comfortable position.
To his surprise, the group of masked individuals was sitting just one row in front of him. However, Xia Shengyang didn't think much of it.
It's just a movie; why bother worrying about such things?
As waves of audience members continued to enter, the movie soon began to play.
With a loud explosion, a blazing fire suddenly appeared on the screen.
As the camera zoomed in, a shadow flickered within the flames.
The scene shifted, and a giant hand appeared out of nowhere, reaching into the fire. As the flames danced, the giant hand pulled out the shadow. Xia Shengyang then realized that the indistinct shape was actually a roasted sweet potato!
At that moment, the sweet potato leaped into the air from the giant hand's palm, and the name of Sweet Potato Film and Television Co., Ltd. appeared prominently on the screen, along with a logo resembling a roasted sweet potato.
"Not bad, even the logo looks so cool; the main feature should be good too," Xia Shengyang murmured.
Typically, film companies don't put much effort into their logos. If they go to great lengths to create an impressive opening logo, then the main feature is likely to be just as good.
"The Strongest Sci-Fi Pure Love Movie in History, let's see how you perform."
After the opening sequence, with the appearance of Dragon Mark, the main feature was about to begin.
The screen went dark, and cheerful violin music played as white text jumped onto the screen.
"Whenever I was sick, my grandmother would make me a cup of coffee. She would gently say, 'This is what foreigners drink.'
As a child, I was always afraid of coffee; its sourness and bitterness intertwined. Now I've traveled through Milo, Shangdao, and Starbucks, but I can never find that childhood flavor again until one day I had a cup of Isatis Root Granules."
"Very nice!" Xia Shengyang exclaimed.
The story begins with a classic setup typical of a Pure Love Movie, though it's uncertain how it will unfold.
The group of Masked Men in the front row seemed unimpressed, scoffing, "Just trying to create some mystery."
As the dark screen faded, warm sunlight flooded the scene.
A pair of black leather shoes, paired with white plush socks, appeared center stage.
The camera panned up to reveal a stunning beauty, almost otherworldly, wearing a green hat that exposed her intelligence.
"What is this nonsense? How did the red hat turn into a green one?" Xia Shengyang exclaimed, dumbfounded.
Compared to Xia Shengyang, the focus of the front-row Masked Men was clearly elsewhere.
"Who is this actress? I don't recall her at all."
"Director Feng, she must be a newcomer! There's no one like her in the entertainment industry."
The leader nodded and muttered, "She looks decent. Let's send her an invitation; she’ll be the female lead in my new film."
"Director Feng, isn't that a bit risky? This woman is likely a signed actress with Sweet Potato Films. You know their reputation in the industry..."
The Masked Man known as Director Feng paused for a moment before responding gravely, "Then let's poach her. I refuse to believe that with our Huayi Film and Television being such a large enterprise, she wouldn't want to join us. This girl has potential; she's worth nurturing."
"Alright, I'll contact her later," another Masked Man nodded.
At this moment, four large characters appeared in the lower right corner of the screen.
"Lu Mao's Work!"
The main film continued, as the Red Hat walked joyfully into a nearby grove.
The scene shifted again, and suddenly a sharply defined "villa" appeared in the frame.
The reason it was so sharply defined was that this villa... Damn it, it was made of building blocks!
"Damn, is this really The Strongest Sci-Fi Pure Love Movie in History?" Xia Shengyang exclaimed in confusion.
