Betty changed her name to Liu Ying as the first thing she did when she came to the mainland.
The old lady was very pleased to have such a good disciple. She looked at the young man in front of her, who was eager to learn and thirsty for knowledge. He was the future great wise man and the noble son of Father God.
Liu Ying is willing to follow her for thousands of miles, and she is willing to become like her. She respects and loves this mother-in-law, she likes her beautiful eyes and her pleasant voice, as if filtered by God, sweet and wonderful. She also loves her walking pace and graceful posture, coming from afar, as if telling some unknown truth.
Liu Ying loves everything this mother-in-law says and does, especially her character, her nobility, passionate thoughts, burning will, and strong appeal. Liu Ying knows in her heart that she is not an ordinary believer like her father, she will not be a lazy preacher, nor a greedy peddler cheating in the world, nor an unrealistic talker, nor a member of the foolish masses who are deceived. Because Liu Ying knows herself, she has always had this idea since she was a child, believing in the existence of such a great Father God, but she was deceived by those false disciples. She wants to follow her mother-in-law, she respects superior people, and she is willing to become a child of light, willing to become divine.
Following her mother-in-law, Liu Ying found that wherever she went, people really, really liked her, and she brought joy and happiness to everyone.
Liu Ying reads the Bible every day. The more she reads, the more unsettled she becomes, because she is unsure of the right way to walk the path of sanctification.
She thought again of her deceased father, who had a disciple of Christ by his side when he died, praying and entrusting his death to Father God, but her father still left her. So, is this prayer everything? Can she reverse everything? Bring the dead back to life, turn unrest into security, turn pain into joy...
In the Bible, there are many scriptures, and the wonderful truth is hidden in these chapters. The highest wisdom is hidden in these magical words. We are not reading the literal meaning of the words, but the words that God wants to say to us. Liu Ying said she understood these words, but she was still confused. Why are these wise people still repenting constantly? What are they still repenting for? Liu Ying wants to know where those who can understand the deepest mysteries and turn them into life are. What kind of blessing did God give them? Is it just eternal life in heaven?
Why is it that only those who have endured suffering and torment can come before God? Is it human ignorance, ignorant to the point of being as unyielding as a stone? Everything is truly curious and wonderful. Shouldn't those who live in happiness and have a peaceful life also be seekers, shouldn't they also be yearners? Is it that I still haven't fully understood God's words, or is there something wrong with what I've done?
Liu Ying said that she had already experienced a life like hell in the past, and she doesn't mind experiencing it again if everything is the path prepared by God for her. She is willing to walk it again.
On that day, Liu Ying came before the elder. "Please allow me, my beloved benefactor, I want to leave you, leave this place, and become a true disciple. My feet will tread every inch of land, my words will reach every ear!"
"Child, have you truly made your decision, have you truly listened to your heart?"
"Yes, I must do this! I must follow my heart, isn't all of this the will of Father God?"
"I am happy for you. In the near future, you will surpass me, and you will influence more people! What are you waiting for, child? Take action now!"
"Mother-in-law, do you know what I am waiting for!"
Liu Ying closed her eyes and began her devout prayer. She stood there, motionless, as if she had never cared about the wind or rain. She only cared about what was happening in her world.
"Child, aren't you tired?"
"I'm not tired!"
"Aren't you going to sleep?"
"I'm not going to sleep!"
"Will you listen to me?"
"I will listen to you, only parents who love their children would make me do this!"
When dawn breaks, when a ray of sunlight shines through the iron window and grazes Liu Ying's eyes, she wakes up. She knows it's time. Throughout the night, she didn't feel any discomfort in her body; instead, time seemed to pass quickly. It's as if she's living in a realm without pain, why can't time be a little longer! When she opens her eyes, she's pulled back to reality, knowing she must continue to pursue this, until she becomes holy, until she becomes pure.
She's on her way, leaving her mother-in-law behind.
Liu Ying is ready to accept everything, and no matter how difficult or painful the storm is, it will not discourage her. Even if she can't eat for several days, she feels as strong as iron, without feeling hungry.
On this journey, she witnesses everything and experiences it all. She also encounters some preachers like her, all of them thin and begging for a living. Sometimes, they gather together to keep warm because only they know what a great thing they are doing. They all wear long robes made of coarse cloth, making them look more like ordinary beggars.
Especially those male preachers, their appearance has become more like that of Jesus, our savior, who was born in the Middle East. After walking for a long time, not getting enough to eat or warm clothes, the muscles in their thighs and cheeks have disappeared. Looking at their dry hands, wrinkled and with long nails like a pair of deadly swords, it's chilling. And their dry, unkempt long beards resemble the identity of a Taoist priest, making even the young look like an old man. Only their eyes, shining with the spirit of dreams, still have such a bright and powerful presence, giving off a sense of strength and warmth.
Liu Ying is constantly rescuing people from suffering, hoping to reduce their pain and torment. Along the way, she is like a photographer, constantly observing everything: she sees the small vendors hawking their wares, she sees the nobles hunting, she sees doctors saving lives, she sees the smoke of war, she sees prostitutes soliciting, she sees men and women in love, she sees the joys and sorrows of life... She feels that all of this is meaningless, questioning why these things are arranged this way. She believes that everything is false, including happiness, and that beauty is fleeting. Life is difficult, and all voices are filled with bitterness.
She feels the importance of her existence and diligently studies the book left by this great sage, the "Bible," because she sees her path, encounters the truth, and understands the importance of life! Only this book can set her apart from others. She does not want to be reincarnated; she truly wants to be saved, not just in body, but also in soul.
