The Yellow Robe Monster was still pondering how to deal with the Golden Cicada when a loud knocking echoed from outside the cave.
"Who the hell is it!"
Cursing under his breath, the Yellow Robe Monster had no choice but to let the Flower Princess sit down first before he went to open the cave door.
"Monkey?"
"Hey, you demon! When you see me, the Monkey King, shouldn't you kneel down and beg for mercy?" Before Sun Wukong could say anything, Li Hong outside the door immediately mocked him.
The Yellow Robe Monster was taken aback, then sneered, "Kneel down and beg for mercy? Are you serious?"
"No, I... I..." Sun Wukong was a bit confused, unsure of how to respond.
Li Hong realized it was bad and continued to provoke him.
"You fool, still babbling? If I were you, I'd pack up and run. Offending me, the Monkey King, is no joke. I, the Monkey King, have dealt with countless demons, and none of them are a match for me."
The Yellow Robe Monster looked at Sun Wukong with a half-smile, his gaze cold and murderous intent lurking beneath the surface.
Sun Wukong opened his mouth, unsure whether he should silence his foolish teammate behind him.
Great, now there's murderous intent?
Seeing this, Li Hong was overjoyed and continued to taunt, "I see you don't look that impressive; you're not even one-thousandth as handsome as my Monkey King. Why do you have the guts to roam the world?"
"Hmph! When I, the Monkey King, shook the three realms with my might, you were just an insignificant ant. Now you have the audacity to kidnap the Great Tang's Empress Golden Cicada. Have you never seen my Golden Cudgel?"
"Is that thing... made of gold?" The Yellow Robe Monster swallowed hard and asked.
Sun Wukong: "..."
What should I do? I really want to knock this stupid teammate out! Can we please enable friendly fire?
"Hey, can you really tolerate this?" Li Hong thought to himself.
This Yellow Robe Monster was quite pathetic; how could he endure being insulted like this? Since that was the case, Li Hong decided to add more fuel to the fire.
"You piece of trash, you don’t even dare to retort when I insult you to your face."
"Useless, your intelligence is laughable! How can you still stand here with a straight face? If I were you, I would have been too ashamed to live. Living such a worthless life, what face do you have to be a monster? Look at me, the tall and mighty, handsome and dashing Monkey King; that's who you should aspire to be."
"Even though I, the Monkey King, am so powerful, I still keep a low profile. Unlike you, who relies on a bit of cultivation to wreak havoc everywhere, you're simply embarrassing the monster world..."
After rambling on for quite a while, Li Hong successfully provoked the killing intent of the Yellow Robe Monster.
Sun Wukong's eyes narrowed in vigilance as he drew his Golden Cudgel. The Yellow Robe Monster also unsheathed his weapon, his gaze as cold as ice.
His weapon was a massive sword, forty meters long. The Yellow Robe Monster raised the tip of his sword and said to Li Hong, "I’ll allow you to run thirty-nine meters first!"
"…"
Li Hong fell silent and turned to flee.
This was ridiculous; he had clearly hinted that the opponent was Sun Wukong. Why was he still attacking him?
Seeing Li Hong trying to escape, the Yellow Robe Monster sneered and swung his long sword down.
"Clang!"
A sound of metal clashing echoed as the long sword struck against the Golden Cudgel.
The Yellow Robe Monster pointed at Li Hong and said to Sun Wukong, "Let me take care of him, and I'll return the Golden Cicada to you."
Sun Wukong's eyes remained clear and unyielding.
The Yellow Robe Monster asked in a deep voice, "Aren't you just after the Golden Cicada? I'll give it to you if you let me kill this loudmouth. Otherwise, I can't guarantee what might happen to the Golden Cicada."
"You dare to touch her, and I will kill you."
The Monkey showed no signs of sadness or joy, calmly replying, "This child belongs to the Golden Cicada. I cannot allow you to kill him. As for the Golden Cicada, I will naturally rescue him."
"Fine, then let me see what skills you truly possess." Realizing he could not bypass Sun Wukong, the Yellow Robe Monster roared and soared into the air on a cloud of mist.
Sun Wukong smiled slightly and turned to Li Hong. "Go bring the Empress out; I'll handle the rest."
"Monkey King, you..."
Before Li Hong could finish his sentence, he saw Sun Wukong's agile figure suddenly vanish from sight. In the blink of an eye, he was already battling the Yellow Robe Monster with his staff.
The two fought fiercely, neither side gaining the upper hand.
Recalling Sun Wukong's instructions, Li Hong could only lower his head and walk into the cave.
The Flower Princess had long hidden deep within the cave, leaving only the Golden Cicada bound in the main hall. As soon as Li Hong entered, he saw the unconscious Golden Cicada.
Not wanting to think too much about it, Li Hong picked up the Golden Cicada and quietly left.
During the battle, the Monkey occasionally glanced down. He finally breathed a sigh of relief when he spotted Li Hong and the Golden Cicada.
The Yellow Robe Monster was furious at Sun Wukong's actions and shouted, "You dare to fight me while being distracted? Take this!"
With a swing of his large blade, a fierce wind whipped up, darkening the sky with swirling yellow sand.
Sun Wukong's expression grew serious as his golden staff seemed to come alive, dancing like a spirit at his fingertips.
With a single slash, an overwhelming pressure surged forth like thunder. The blade's momentum shot toward the Monkey in an instant.
Sun Wukong leaped into the air, raising his staff from below to meet the blow head-on.
However, in that split second, a flash of light shot from the Yellow Robe Monster's sleeve. It struck Sun Wukong in the waist, sending him flying away.
"Cough..."
With his right hand resting on the golden staff, he knelt down, feeling a tearing sensation in his waist. Sun Wukong's eyes dimmed.
"The Supreme Jade Bracelet? How do you have this?"
"Heh heh! What’s it to you?" The Yellow Robe Monster chuckled and raised his hand, swinging down with a blade.
Sun Wukong's feet planted firmly, causing the ground to crack open. Using this force, he leaped into the air, standing opposite the Yellow Robe Monster.
In a flurry of strikes, the two fought fiercely. However, it was clear that with the help of the Supreme Jade Bracelet, the Yellow Robe Monster held the absolute advantage.
Sun Wukong could only grit his teeth and endure, but he had no confidence in how long he could hold out.
The golden staff had already been marked with countless dents from the blows of the bracelet. If it weren't for its special material, it would have likely been smashed in two by now.
"Strike now! This is the moment when Sun Wukong is at his weakest," 404 urged as he saw Sun Wukong take another hit from the bracelet.
"What the hell? You think it's easy to just stand there and talk? I only have defensive abilities, not offensive ones!" Li Hong replied helplessly.
"You fool! Summon a monster to attack him!"
"Oh right!"
At 404's reminder, Li Hong suddenly remembered that he still had a monster with him.
"Are you sure the monster can take on the monkey? What if it gets knocked out by one of his strikes?" Li Hong asked anxiously.
After all, the monster was his summoned creature; if it got killed by a single blow from the monkey, that would be incredibly frustrating.
404 shook his head and explained, "No way, the monster has evolved countless times now. Even if it faces a direct hit, it can withstand a few blows. Not to mention, this one is just to let it take a sneak attack on the monkey."
"Alright!"
Li Hong nodded, pulling out the monster tied around his waist and pointing at Sun Wukong. "Did you hear that? Go get him! If you kill him, there's a big reward for you!"
The monster shook its head humanely and said in a childish voice, "Super durable, I'm not going! I'll get beaten to death."
"You, a super monster, are so timid... You've evolved so many times; you should be the strongest monster by now, right? Don't worry, he’s fighting Immortal."
"Really?" The monster asked skeptically.
"Really, trust me." Li Hong patted the oddly shaped head of the monster, feeling incredibly guilty.
