After inspecting the work status of the designers, Li Hong finally felt relieved.
Based on the current progress, the mass production of the Virtual Helmet would begin soon.
Once the platform was ready, their Virtual Helmet would no longer be just an empty shell but a rich entertainment device filled with content. At that point, nearly every entertainment industry on the market would be impacted by the Virtual Helmet.
This was the wave of the times; anyone trying to stand in its way would not end well!
Having checked in with the team at Fist, Li Hong felt reassured. He didn’t rush them; after all, there was still time, and they were currently in control of the situation.
Soon, after greeting Mark and Charlie, Li Hong left Baisheng Building and headed home.
He had previously contacted a Public Kindergarten for Yuchen, and they had confirmed her acceptance for a transfer enrollment.
However, Li Hong had been busy with company matters for the past two days and hadn’t had the chance to take Yuchen to complete her enrollment procedures at the kindergarten.
Since it was still early and there were no pressing issues at work, Li Hong decided to take Yuchen to finalize her enrollment.
Although Yuchen was technically too young to start school, Li Hong was not one to be bound by rules. With his resources, he could easily navigate around any regulations.
Despite Yuchen being small for her age, she was quite tall for a five-year-old and possessed intelligence far beyond that of her peers. These reasons led Li Hong to decide to send Yuchen to kindergarten.
He was also concerned about Yuchen; after all, he was often busy with work and rarely had time to spend with her. Rather than leaving her alone in an empty house, it would be better for her to go to kindergarten and interact with more friends.
Li Hong did not want his daughter to grow up as a reclusive person who shied away from others. He truly had no time at present; his company was chaotic, and bringing Yuchen to work wasn’t a good idea either.
To prevent Yuchen’s personality from changing drastically, Li Hong finally decided to send her to kindergarten. Learning knowledge was secondary; he never expected much from that.
What he hoped for was that Yuchen could make friends at kindergarten and no longer feel so lonely.
At five years old, Yuchen was among the older kids in kindergarten.
At least with her appearance resembling that of a seven or eight-year-old girl, she would certainly stand out in the kindergarten environment.
Li Hong was also preparing to accompany Yuchen to school for a visit.
If Yuchen couldn’t adapt to this environment, or if he faced exclusion or bullying, Li Hong would immediately arrange for a transfer.
With so many kindergartens in the capital, he didn’t believe he couldn’t find one where Yuchen could grow up happily.
Despite having little money, all of which was invested in his company, when it came to spending for Yuchen, Li Hong wouldn’t hesitate for a second.
In the vast sea of people, since Yuchen had chosen to entrust his life to him, Li Hong felt it was his responsibility to shoulder that duty.
Sometimes, he couldn’t help but wonder what would have happened if Yuchen hadn’t found him but instead encountered someone with ill intentions.
The more he thought about it, the more his heart ached for Yuchen.
At the same time, his resolve to protect Yuchen grew stronger.
That was his "daughter," and he had to protect her!
As the car slowly approached the entrance of the district, Li Hong parked and got out, heading upstairs.
Li Hong had just recently obtained his driver’s license and bought the car not long ago. He had grown tired of the hassle of taking taxis and decided to get one for himself.
The car wasn’t very expensive; it was just an Audi A6. For Li Hong, this wasn’t a significant burden.
While many men have a particular obsession with cars, Li Hong didn’t share that sentiment. He felt that whether a car was good or not didn’t affect him much.
Typically, men his age tend to prefer flashy supercars. Although Li Hong’s current wealth couldn’t be considered extravagant, it was still considerable. However, he simply didn’t like those kinds of cars; they seemed too ostentatious and didn’t match his taste.
He bought this Audi after the salesperson at the dealership passionately convinced him that its comfort surpassed that of other similar models.
With superior comfort, wouldn’t that make Yuchen feel a bit more at ease?
Indeed, for Li Hong, buying a car was as simple as that. If it weren't for the fact that there was still Yuchen at home, he wouldn't have considered purchasing such an expensive vehicle. After all, a car is just a means of transportation; as long as it runs, that's all that matters.
...
As he ascended the stairs, Li Hong had just pulled out his keys to open the door when it swung wide open.
Yuchen stood at the entrance in a light blue checkered dress, smiling brightly.
Li Hong was taken aback. "Wait, how did you open the door? Didn't I tell you not to open the door for strangers?"
Yuchen giggled, revealing her two little canine teeth as she explained, "I could tell it was you just by the sound of your footsteps!"
A warm feeling surged within Li Hong. Touched, he still maintained a stern expression as he admonished her, "Even if it's me coming home, you shouldn't open the door. I have my own keys. What if you let in a bad person?"
"But if I open the door earlier, I get to see you sooner!" Yuchen pouted, looking pitiful.
Li Hong felt a pang of sadness; this girl must not have had it easy being left alone at home.
Thinking this way, he couldn't bring himself to scold her any further. Ruffling Yuchen's hair, he said with a teasing smile, "What’s so great about me? I'm not Bald Qiang or Happy Sheep!"
With that, Li Hong bent down to take off his shoes and put on the slippers from the shoe cabinet before stepping inside.
Just then, Yuchen suddenly hugged him from behind and chirped, "No way! Bald Qiang and Happy Sheep are the ones who aren't good-looking. You're the best-looking uncle!"
Though it was just a child's innocent remark, hearing it warmed Li Hong's heart.
After changing into his slippers, Li Hong took Yuchen's hand and smiled, "Good girl, I didn't spoil you for nothing!"
As they walked into the living room, Li Hong noticed that the large television was still on, displaying scenes from Boonie Bears. The coffee table was cluttered with clay figures shaped like monsters.
Li Hong chuckled and said, "Look at you, Yuchen! You little rascal—watching Boonie Bears and not even admitting it!"
Discovered!
Yuchen's face instantly turned crimson, burying her head in Li Hong's embrace, too shy to look up at him.
Li Hong chuckled, "It's nothing."
It wasn't hard to understand why the girl loved watching Boonie Bears. With Li Hong leaving her alone at home, what else could she do besides watch TV?
Notably, before leaving home, Li Hong would carefully turn on the television for Yuchen and switch it to the animation channel.
After doing all this, Li Hong could head to the company with peace of mind.
Although he knew Yuchen could turn on the TV herself and even change channels, he also understood that if he didn't turn it on for her, that silly girl wouldn't watch it at all.
That silly girl always thought that if she turned on the TV, she would waste a lot of electricity for Li Hong. So if he didn't turn it on, she wouldn't do it herself.
