The capital city was vast, and living there was not easy. Just as the incident at Sister Five's press conference escalated, the person involved quietly left the capital.
Arriving in a flurry, departing on a long journey. As Jufeng lay in a spacious and luxurious car, propping his legs up and resting his arms on bandages, leisurely munching on grapes handed to him by a tall figure, he couldn't help but feel a wave of emotion.
Having left home at a young age, how had he ended up injured? This trip to the capital had brought about so many unexpected events!
It seemed that after so many years away from the capital, everything had changed, and he truly felt out of touch with the times.
Under Flower Snow Moon's subtle reminders, Jufeng contemplated for a long time but ultimately decided against visiting the old man. Surely the old man had heard about his injury; it was just uncertain whether he felt more heartache or relief. After all, he had resolutely left before, which must have hurt the old man's feelings.
Regarding the kidnappers, Jufeng felt particularly troubled. He initially hoped to follow Shuh's lead to uncover bigger players behind the scenes but didn't expect that fellow named Politeness would ruin his plans. The enemy lurked in the shadows, and there were indeed experts like Politeness hiding in wait, much like a leopard ready to pounce for a lethal strike. This feeling of being unable to control the situation was quite unsettling. Moreover, Politeness came from Yanhuang City and had such a complicated connection with him; if those behind Politeness understood him as well, this matter would become exceedingly tricky.
Through Flower Snow Moon, Jufeng mobilized resources from his childhood in the capital to investigate but found nothing. He didn’t know where Politeness came from or where he operated; the mastermind behind Sister Five's kidnapping or Lu Qijia remained elusive. However, Flower Snow Moon managed to gather some information through other channels; after all, her reputation as Fiery Beauty over the years was not without merit.
Yet those leads seemed to point towards old grievances that had not faded with time but instead affected the younger generation. This frustrated Jufeng and was part of why he hesitated to soften his heart and visit home.
He often thought of that large courtyard and the lonely elderly man sitting in a wheelchair, which cast a shadow over Jufeng's mood.
Lost in thought, his right arm relaxed naturally, pulling at his wound which throbbed faintly. Jufeng instinctively tightened his lips slightly; Tong Bailong noticed this and stopped feeding him grapes.
After frowning for a moment, Jufeng sighed deeply. Tong Bailong looked on in confusion but couldn't help but feel an increase in hatred towards that fellow named Politeness upon seeing the pale face of the injured youth.
Jufeng relaxed his body and smoothed out his brow as he gazed at the window atop the luxury car and its orderly blue sky before suddenly saying,
"Tong Bailong, once we return to Washing City, let's spar more."
…………
The speed of four legs running is never quite the same as two wings flying. While arriving in the capital took just a brief nap's time, Jufeng slept soundly through an entire night on the way back.
The Luxury Car was quite extravagant, divided into several rooms. Jufeng and Tong Bailong occupied one, while the five sisters enjoyed the remaining two. The choice of the Luxury Car over an airplane was Jufeng's idea; partly to avoid drawing attention, especially after the recent fan incident that could attract paparazzi at the airport, and partly for safety. Flower Snow Moon had sent a few cars to discreetly guard the Luxury Car, as Jufeng feared that thieves might still be lurking. If Politeness stood before him with that ever-present smile, he would have no choice but to confront him head-on.
Confronting him head-on, rather than yielding in defeat, indicated that despite his injuries, Jufeng still possessed formidable strength. After all, he wouldn't have those memories of Politeness in the café—those… compliments.
Upon entering Washing City, Sister Five returned to the villa to calm down, while Jufeng naturally headed back to his own place, Nurturing. After Hurricane was established, they made a considerable sum and purchased a villa in a quiet corner of the university town. It couldn't compare to Azure Waterside but was valued for its tranquility. Jufeng had been brought here by Xue, and it now served as Hurricane's base.
As Jufeng admired the villa's beautiful scenery and surrounding decor, he couldn't help but nod in approval. Xue's arrangements were meticulous, and the security was tight—truly suitable for a stronghold.
"Brother Jufeng, when did we earn so much money? How can we afford such a large house?" Tong Bailong exclaimed, clearly astonished by the sight before him, wishing he had more eyes to take in every corner. The two-story building with blue tiles and green grass surrounded by a hundred-meter garden—if this were back home, only the town mayor could afford such a place!
Jufeng and Xue exchanged knowing smiles at Tong Bailong's reaction. Initially drawn into the Underworld out of necessity, it now seemed that despite living on the edge, the rewards were indeed substantial; otherwise, these brothers would have been left begging on the streets.
Carefully helping Jufeng onto the bed, Xue called Lezheng over to report on matters concerning Jufeng. There wasn't much new information since it had only been less than a week since they last met; everything was on track. This path wasn't wide or far but could be walked steadily with ease.
Once business was concluded, the four in the room began chatting about everyday life. Jufeng shared some of Beijing's dangers while Xue praised civilization. Coincidentally, Feng and the two leaders had encountered interesting characters almost simultaneously.
Especially one name that sounded like it was meant for fun.
Suddenly recalling something important, Jufeng asked Xue to discreetly send some guards from Azure Waterside for protection. He had received news from Flower Snow Moon suggesting that he might have inadvertently caused trouble for Lu Qijia.
Of course, the five foolish thieves from before didn't count.
Having grown familiar with Jufeng, they understood that when he referred to Azure Waterside, he meant not the entire area but rather a specific place hidden away where fairies resided.
Lezheng suddenly had an idea and eagerly spoke up to Jufeng.
"Brother Jufeng, why don't you give our villa a catchy name? Something like 'Water' or 'Blue'—it sounds so stylish."
Xue Wenyan nodded, and Tong Bailong also cheered. Jufeng pondered for a long time, recalling his childhood training in Yanhuang City, the wild youth in the capital, and many things like Flower Snow Moon and Politeness. His thoughts drifted, giving him a somewhat scholarly air of melancholy.
"Let's call it 'Canglang's Floating Life.'"
Hmm?
The other three were momentarily taken aback, seeming to find the name... a bit long.
However, Lezheng was the first to react.
"Good! As expected of Brother Jufeng, this name has more substance than any of those water or blue names!"
