In the year of our Lord, at the end of September in the golden autumn, in Washing City, a brilliant star of the Underworld, Xing Long Gang, suddenly fell.
Perhaps several years later, someone will recall an Autumn Rain during which some fell while others rose. The shift in victory was so abrupt that many could not understand how a newborn could defeat a strong man. Many things in this world can be interpreted as "miracles," but can this brief yet clear battle between the hurricane and the Rising Dragon Society also be seen in that light?
Almost all eyes in Washing City’s Underworld were focused on one place. When news of the Rising Dragon Society's disastrous defeat spread like a plague throughout the city, many who received the news couldn't help but sigh in regret. If, after everything was resolved, the Rising Dragon Club remained under Cheng Zihu's control, then he would not truly be defeated; he would merely have found himself at a disadvantage from the start but could still rise again. As long as the Association existed, Cheng Zihu had leverage. In terms of a protracted battle, the advantages of the Rising Dragon Society were too apparent; their roots ran too deep. Once Cheng Zihu had a chance to breathe, Jufeng would find it difficult to extract himself from this tiger's jaws.
However, there are no "ifs" in this world. Jufeng naturally understood his strengths and weaknesses. Therefore, at the very beginning, before this Autumn Rain had even begun to fall, he had already made up his mind that the Rising Dragon Club was a must-have. So, in the elegant room of Gui Ming Residence, he did not linger with Director Zou; and on the second floor of the Rising Dragon Club, he unreasonably slapped his hand down.
Everything was about momentum—timing, creating an atmosphere—no matter how you looked at it, Jufeng's plans were flawless.
Of course, for many big shots in Washing City’s Underworld, what truly surprised them was not Jufeng's youthful wisdom but rather the force that came from outside the city.
It was a force that made all the big shots abandon past friendships and dare not extend even a hint of assistance to Cheng Zihu.
That force was called Hua Gang!
Hua Gang is one of the three major powers in Huaguo and is undoubtedly a colossal gang. Compared to hurricanes or the Rising Dragon Society, it was like comparing ants to elephants. Hua Gang controlled vast territories in Northeast Huaguo; even the capital fell within its sphere of influence—though this referred to the Underworld rather than actual territory—since it should be noted that the Underworld cannot be equated with government.
Thus, when Hua Gang's branch in Washing City declared that no one was allowed to interfere with matters concerning the hurricane and Rising Dragon Society, all of Washing City's Underworld chose silence.
As for why Hua Gang would assist Jufeng, it all began with Flower Snow Moon.
Flower Snow Moon earned its nickname Fiery Beauty due to years of hard work by Hua Gang. Hua Gang has eight second-in-commands known as the Eight Kings; Flower Snow Moon is one of them—the Irin King. Jufeng leveraged his connections with old classmates for today's situation, demonstrating his determination and foresight.
Jufeng walked down the stairs alongside Xue and crossed through the hall. With that seemingly thin yet invaluable piece of paper tucked away in his arms, he appeared remarkably light.
At some point outside the Rising Dragon Club's entrance stood a black sports car. Upon seeing Jufeng and Xue exit from the hall, someone emerged from inside the car holding an umbrella. Then another young man stepped out beneath it, wearing dark sunglasses as he walked under the shelter.
With sunglasses coming from out of the rain, Jufeng took two steps forward to greet him.
A figure walked slowly to the eaves, retracting an umbrella and removing sunglasses to reveal a flawless, warm, and sweet face. It was… a man!
How could there be such a beautiful man down there!
Jufeng silently cursed in his heart, yet maintained a composed demeanor as he extended his right hand in greeting.
“Hello!”
“Hello,” the man replied, extending his hand as well, a warm smile spreading across his face.
“I’ve often heard Beloved mention you. Meeting you today, it’s clear you are extraordinary.”
Such a clichéd opening line elicited only a polite smile from Jufeng, who thought to himself that Flower Snow Moon’s subordinates were rather unremarkable. Except for… being extraordinarily stunning.
“Thank you for today; I appreciate your trouble in coming all this way. When you see Snow Moon on your return, please convey my thanks to her.”
Jufeng and the handsome man retracted their hands in perfect synchrony. Jufeng secretly marveled at the sensation from their brief contact, surprised to find that this fellow had skin as smooth and delicate as a woman’s. If it weren’t for the prominent Adam's apple in his throat, Jufeng might have genuinely doubted whether he was indeed a man!
The handsome man was unaware of Jufeng's thoughts, but he caught on to the implications of Jufeng ’s words. Snow Moon—he really called her Snow Moon. It seemed their relationship was indeed special.
A fleeting hint of jealousy crossed the handsome man's face before he nodded and shook his head.
“With your relationship, why trouble me to act as a middleman?”
He lifted his gaze to take in the resplendent building. Even someone like him, who had seen much of the world’s grandeur, couldn’t help but show a hint of amazement.
“The autumn wind Autumn Rain is quite sorrowful; I imagine the one inside must be feeling quite troubled as well. This big fellow will likely have to change names and identities soon.”
Jufeng smiled lightly, not expecting that the beautiful youth before him was also a person of compassion. He shook his head and said, "No need to change it. The old master put in a lot of effort, and I'm not skilled at this; I fear I might make things worse. It's fine as it is now; why bother the people and waste resources?"
"Oh?" The man was clearly taken aback by Jufeng's words, but after a moment, he smiled again in understanding.
The two chatted casually about trivial matters. As the colors of dusk deepened and the rain continued to fall, their conversation drew to a close.
"In fact, you may not have understood what I meant at the beginning. The reason you are extraordinary is not just an empty statement; it is indeed heartfelt."
"Oh?" Jufeng responded with mild surprise. "I would like to hear more."
"Many people show surprise when they see me for the first time, but you did not; instead, you remained quite composed. That’s why I find you remarkable. After all, I have an unusual pride in my appearance."
It was the first time Jufeng had heard a man express such confidence in his looks. He couldn't help but smile wryly and explained lightly, "Last year, I faced Snow Moon's face, so naturally, I have become somewhat immune to other appearances. With your level of pride, do you think you surpass Snow Moon?"
As Jufeng spoke, a ripple appeared at the corner of his mouth. The man certainly wouldn't fall for Jufeng's bait; if he let something slip and it got back to the capital, life would not be easy afterward.
"Next time you see Beloved, ask her; perhaps she will give you an answer. I must go now. I hope you can unify Washing City soon; I'll be waiting for you on a broader battlefield..."
After finishing his words, the man took out a white business card from his pocket. The card was leaf-shaped and made of pure gold. He handed it to Jufeng, then put on sunglasses and turned to disappear into the rain.
Jufeng looked down at the card in his hand. The metallic texture and color were pleasing; the card had very simple writing—just a string of numbers and three indigo characters.
"Situ Yu! Quite fitting indeed."
Jufeng turned back to see Xue standing there in a daze and couldn't help but be startled. Then he realized something and couldn't help but chuckle.
"What are you staring at? Your eyes are going to pop out!"
Xue came to his senses upon hearing Jufeng's shout, murmuring, "Is that your old acquaintance's subordinate? They look truly enchanting!"
Jufeng noticed the astonished expression on Xue's face and began to understand Situ Yu's earlier words. After all, Xue possessed the courage to remain calm even in the face of a mountain collapsing before him.
"Come on, stop envying others' appearances. It's all given by our parents; there's no point in envy. However, I must warn you, if you dare to speak like that in front of Snow Moon, I would admire you."
With that, Jufeng took the umbrella handed to him by his subordinate and stepped into the rain.
Xue pondered Jufeng's words and recalled how Romain and Tong Bailong described that woman. He couldn't help but shiver and hurriedly grabbed an umbrella to chase after Jufeng.
"You can't sell out your friends for personal gain! I was just joking earlier, just joking!"
