As Jufeng left the villa, the battlefield was still in disarray, with splattered blood and fresh marks from blades and axes visible everywhere. Strangely, on the entire street outside the villa, apart from the orderly cleanup efforts of the Hurricane Gang members, there were only riot police standing guard not far away. Xue approached Jufeng and whispered a few words, prompting Jufeng to head towards the perimeter.
Passing through the barricade formed by riot shields, Jufeng slipped into a plain police car. Inside sat two middle-aged men; one was in uniform, exuding a demeanor of deference towards the other. The other man was dressed casually, but when his gaze met Jufeng's, an unusual feeling flickered in Jufeng's heart.
"You must be Jufeng," the man in uniform said. "Allow me to introduce myself. I am Jiang Da, the director of the Pingcheng Police Department. This is Colonel Party Xueyi from the Yangcheng Military District."
Upon hearing this, Jufeng's shock deepened. While he had anticipated the arrival of the police department, he was taken aback by the urgency of military personnel, especially a colonel—an official ranked above Commander—indicating how seriously the military regarded this matter.
Amidst his astonishment, joy surged within him. He felt immense respect for Elder Chen of Hangzhou; it seemed that visiting Chen Lao during his time back home was indeed his wisest decision.
"Director Jiang and Colonel Party, it's a pleasure to meet you both for the first time. I am Jufeng," he said politely.
Jufeng's expression of disturbance was quite fitting; here he was, a figure from the underworld embroiled in gang conflicts, yet he had police and military backing him up—a groundbreaking precedent for Huaguo's underworld. The recent battle had unfolded in broad daylight; without government support providing cover, it would have undoubtedly stirred up chaos among the populace. No matter how powerful an Underworld Young Master might be, he would still be trapped within his own confines. When Xue arrived in Pingcheng, he immediately established a rapport with Jiang Da. Prior to this Surround and Support operation, Xue had clearly communicated with the police department about his intentions. Although Jiang Da had strongly opposed it, it nonetheless made a significant impact.
When Jiang Da learned that Hurricane intended to mobilize forces openly, he was as anxious as an ant on a hot pan. He hurriedly activated high-level security measures and led officers to Blazing Axe Location to prevent disaster from striking. However, upon arrival, he received a call from Yangcheng Military District requesting assistance for cover operations. This left Jiang Da bewildered; yet upon receiving orders, he felt much more at ease—he simply needed to follow instructions.
The subsequent events unfolded more smoothly. As the chaotic battle neared its end, Colonel Party arrived late and slumped into the police car, appearing ready to doze off until Jufeng's arrival prompted him to open his penetrating eyes.
"First meeting? It seems Brother Jufeng doesn't remember me," Colonel Party remarked with surprise. "We crossed paths last autumn."
Jufeng's eyes widened in disbelief as he pondered what connection they might share. Last autumn, he had been just an anonymous delivery worker—how could he possibly have interacted with a colonel? But then again… military training? The only link he had with the military was during training—could this person be…
"I remember now! Colonel Party was our chief instructor during military training at Huan City University!"
Party Xueyi's eyes crinkled into a smile as scrutiny gave way to warmth. "Director Jiang, I have something to discuss with Brother Jufeng. Thank you for your hard work today; I’ll trouble you to handle things from here on out. I’ll come by another day to express my gratitude."
Jiang Da did not expect him to genuinely pay a visit; seeing that his superior had issued a dismissal order, he quickly took his leave while warmly greeting Jufeng. A veteran of bureaucratic affairs like him couldn't help but keep an eye on Jufeng after witnessing such a significant taboo being brushed aside without consequence.
"Brother Jufeng," Party Xueyi began, "you should know why I'm here to find you."
Jufeng steadied himself and looked warmly at Party Xueyi before calmly replying, "I know half of it and am uncertain about the other half."
Intrigued by Jufeng's response, Party Xueyi leaned in closer with interest. "Let’s see."
"Several days ago, the student visited an old man in Jiangnan, who offered me a lot of insights about the Maze of Confusion. However, it ultimately did not materialize, and I did not see any tangible results. The student felt quite anxious, torn between uncertainty."
Party Xueyi shifted his posture, relaxing his body slightly. "I know your whereabouts. Over a decade ago, I had the privilege of meeting Chen Lao, and I was deeply impressed by the old man's broad-mindedness and vision. Unfortunately, after he stepped back from the forefront, few have been able to match him."
The Colonel fell into a brief reminiscence, only to return to reality with a slight sigh as he continued the previous topic. "You have done well to choose the Blazing Axe over the Unification Alliance. It seems Chen Lao's judgment is indeed exceptional. My visit this time carries little ulterior motive; I merely wish to convey some directives from above. I also have a question for you."
"If they chose you to handle the unrest in the Pacification of Huaguo's Underworld, how long would you need to bring this conflict under control?"
Party Xueyi spoke slowly, but even so, Jufeng momentarily failed to grasp the meaning behind his words; or more precisely, he could hardly believe that such an opportunity had come so suddenly.

Party Xueyi remained silent, his gaze drifting toward the clear afternoon street, unaware of how long it had been since he had felt such a leisurely mindset to quietly enjoy life.
The phrase "Pacification of Huaguo Underworld" weighed heavily on Jufeng's mind! Although he lacked profound knowledge of literature and history, he understood the implications of pacification—it meant appointing himself as the Grand General of National Pacification! But how could one pacify the Huaguo Underworld so easily? Clearly, the Unification Alliance posed a formidable barrier that was difficult to overcome, not to mention the current United Heart Association within the Alliance! Furthermore, Jufeng was even more concerned about why the government would extend such an olive branch; when he was truly in a position of power, would they still tolerate his existence?
Party Xueyi could not have anticipated that this young man in his early twenties would think so far ahead in an instant. After a while, Jufeng finally spoke up but did not answer directly; instead, he posed another question.
"Colonel Party, you know that the Unification Alliance is the instigator of this unrest and my sworn enemy. For decades and even centuries, Huaguo has maintained a tripartite balance of power—hasn't it been stable? Does the country truly desire a permanent resolution? The principle that unity leads to division and division leads to unity is something you politicians understand far better than I do as a young man. Therefore, I do not wish to stir up further chaos; I only want to eliminate dangerous elements and maintain balance within our situation."
Party Xueyi listened quietly to Jufeng's explanation. As he spoke further, admiration grew in his eyes. The question he initially posed was indeed a trap; if Jufeng had hastily provided a date without hesitation, it would likely have marked the end of his Underworld career.
No matter how heroic or valiant one might be in the rivers and lakes, it could never replace the authority of governance; no amount of bravado could satisfy Dawn's most basic requirements. This is why there have been so many uprisings throughout history yet none could shake the machinery of state.
The people's livelihood is fundamental; public sentiment is guiding—this is an unchanging truth!
"Very well! You’ve passed! Since you have your own understanding of this matter, go ahead and act with confidence; we will support you! Whatever you achieve will be observed by all. If you stray from your original intention today, naturally someone will come looking for you."
Party Xueyi then retrieved a box from the back seat of the car; inside was a military uniform with insignia designating him as a Second Lieutenant!
"After returning to school, handle the matters regarding your political identity with the school. Once you officially become a member, this military uniform will truly represent you. The news of your becoming a Second Lieutenant will reach certain people through some channels. No need to thank me; just do what you have in mind. Your father created immeasurable wealth for the country during his lifetime, and the nation mourns his death deeply. Of course, this is not compensation from the state, so you can feel at ease, but just remember to act with propriety."
"Alright, let's go. We will meet again. I've heard you're quite skilled; when you have time, come to the Yangcheng Military District, and I'll arrange for some people to spar with you."
Jufeng held the box, unsure how to leave the police car. Standing on solid ground, he watched as the police car drove away, only then realizing that it bore the military district's license plate.
Jiang Da had been waiting nearby. When Jufeng got out, he hurried over to exchange pleasantries, mostly offering polite words about reaching out if there was anything needed. It took about half an hour to clear the scene before a group of riot police gradually departed, publicly claiming they were conducting an anti-terrorism drill, and the area soon returned to its original state.
Ronald also left Pingcheng shortly after. Based on Jufeng's estimation, he would soon return, but it was uncertain which general from Blazing Axe would come this time. In fact, he secretly hoped it would be Vera, the leader of Blazing Axe known as the "European Blue Cat."
The defeat of Blazing Axe in Pingcheng directly led to chaos in the Unification Alliance's deployment in Northeast China. Although areas near Liaoning Province were continuously being encroached upon by the Unification Alliance and Hua Gang lost considerable territory within, Jisheng and even Dragon Province were wide open to Hurricane's advances. The Unification Alliance had originally hoped that their strong relationship with Blazing Axe would last for some time, but unexpectedly, Blazing Axe retreated completely like a receding tide. Later on, it was revealed that significant efforts from the Chinese Government were involved in this situation, but by then it was too late for regrets.
