On the battlefield, situations change in an instant. One moment, the forces are evenly matched, and the next, a single factor can shatter that balance. Until the very end, no one knows who will emerge as the victor. However, one thing is certain: after two consecutive Great Victories, Hua Gang can finally hold its head high and breathe easy.
The outcome of the Grassland War resulted in the unification of the prairie. Although several Wolf Generals still struggled desperately, the Wolf King had lost all ambition, and this wolf of the grasslands was destined to be devoured.
The Giant Wolf Gang pressed their advantage, celebrating their triumph as they cornered the Prairie Wolf into a remote corner of the plains, ready to annihilate them with a mere gesture. Situ Yu fulfilled his promise to Surge, leading Hua Gang out of the grasslands and establishing an agreement for mutual support and non-aggression between their factions for a century.
The team led by Situ Yu, having withdrawn from the grasslands, moved southward to rendezvous with Yu Jianyuan in a nearby city, forming a strategic alliance.
Meanwhile, the forces of the Unification Alliance engaged in battle against Flower Snow Moon in Jincheng found themselves besieged from all sides by enemies. Unable to advance alone, they retreated and took refuge in Jin Province. Thus, Hua Gang and Hurricane's front against the Unification Alliance shifted westward, encroaching upon territory that originally belonged to the Unification Alliance.
The Unification Alliance had amassed heavy troops in Jin Province while Hua Gang and Hurricane approached their gates. The upcoming battles would likely hinge less on strategy and more on sheer numbers; whoever had more bones piled at their doorstep might find victory leaning in their favor.
Time flew by, and soon it was time for Matthew and Claudia—the ill-fated couple—to fulfill their three-part agreement. Both were sensible enough to diligently meet Jufeng's requirements. The assets of Equivor and Incor had been fully absorbed into Zongheng Express Company, leaving only two empty shells burdened with debt. This incident caused quite a stir both in Huaguo and globally; while such cases were not unheard of in business, having two super-company subsidiaries involved simultaneously was indeed shocking.
The funds and resources from both companies were absorbed by Zongheng Express through several discreet processes, yet some keen observers noticed discrepancies. Nevertheless, Jufeng suffered no losses; after all, there was no evidence. The parties involved—Matthew and Claudia—seemed to have vanished from existence, rumored to have left Earth altogether. Even if there were traces left behind, they remained unsolved mysteries.
Thus, the pressure exerted by both companies on Zongheng Express came to an end. Establishing new subsidiaries in Huazone would not be an overnight endeavor for them. Moreover, this incident severely tarnished their reputations; Huaguo's largest consumer market now seemed like an unattainable prize that left them restless.
Just when consumers thought Zongheng Express had "luckily" escaped disaster and should take some time to recuperate, they were surprised to see this "disheveled" giant rise again—taller than before. A series of business initiatives were announced consecutively within Huaguo's commercial sphere, creating significant waves.
First came a strategic research and development cooperation agreement with Jinhai Industries. The two companies pooled substantial resources to form a world-class research team dedicated to developing aircraft, mechs, and thermal weapons, receiving strong support from the government—especially after signing a contract for targeted production with Yangcheng Military District—a deal that promised guaranteed profits.
Next, Lu Group also signed a cooperation agreement with Zongheng Express. Together they launched a large-scale campaign in the logistics delivery industry, clearly positioning themselves as potential leaders in Huaguo's market. They achieved comprehensive domestic coverage while securing 80% of international markets; even interstellar routes expanded more than threefold. In no time at all, they became an unstoppable force.
In addition to collaborating with domestic giants, Zongheng Express also partnered with world-class companies. They signed sales intentions regarding Huankezhao products with two Russian firms, allowing Zongheng Express to enter the European market under the protection of two Fighter Jets. While this did not pose a direct threat to Equivor or Incor, it served as a reminder that those once looked down upon now stood before them as equals—a stark contrast that proud individuals found hard to accept.
After these series of actions, Zongheng Express—previously not widely recognized—suddenly became a focal point both nationally and globally. Major news outlets clamored to report on them, elevating Zongheng Express's reputation significantly as consumers expressed confidence in them and stock prices soared dramatically.
Washing City, Canglang One Floating Life. The Canglang One Floating Life of today is no longer the lonely place it once was. Under Lezheng's relentless efforts and tireless dedication, a vast complex covering thousands of acres has been developed. Although some buildings have yet to begin construction, they will be gradually completed according to plan, and the expansive green lawns and clear skies have transformed this place into a veritable paradise.
Jufeng still resides in Canglang One Floating Life, but now there is an additional guest.
It is not Vera, who has been living in Washing City for some time, but Claudia, a woman whom even Jufeng did not expect.
Jufeng observes the business elite across from him, leisurely sipping tea without a hint of discomfort, and finds it quite amusing. She is dressed in an extremely casual outfit, clearly having made an effort to disguise herself. It is no wonder; if the media were to catch her unmasked, she might spend the rest of her life in prison. However, what piques Jufeng's curiosity is that she has not left Earth immediately but has lingered for several days. Isn't that playing with fire?
Women are truly difficult to understand.
Jufeng uncrosses his legs and shifts into a more comfortable position, smiling as he asks, "Sister Riss isn't on some planet vacationing but has come here for tea instead. You wouldn't be looking to get back at me, would you?"
Claudia sets down her teacup upon hearing Jufeng finally speak and replies calmly, "Get back at you? Why would I want to do that just because you caused me to lose my job and become homeless? Feng Shao, you think too highly of women; I don't care about those things."
"Oh?" Jufeng's curiosity intensifies as he questions, "Then what brings you here?"
Claudia replies earnestly, "I wanted to ask Feng Shao… if you would consider hiring me… for a job?"
"Hey, that's a bit unusual," Jufeng can't help but laugh at Claudia's response. He says, "You want to work for me? Aren't you afraid I might turn you in and have you confess?"
Claudia shakes her head without a trace of fear; instead, a sly smile appears on her lips. She speaks softly, "What benefit would that bring Feng Shao? If I were arrested, you wouldn't gain anything. On the contrary, I'm offering my services to you; I can do anything, including sharing your bed. How could you possibly refuse such a generous offer?"
Jufeng is momentarily taken aback by her words but then sees Claudia's triumphant smirk and can't help but chuckle. This woman is truly a seductive enchantress; no wonder Matthew is so submissive around her.
Jufeng thinks to himself how he could possibly fear a girl like her. He quickly gathers his thoughts and asks, "How can I trust your loyalty? Who would want a ticking time bomb by their side?"
Claudia smiles alluringly and replies, "That depends on Feng Shao's courage."
“Hmm, interesting.” Jufeng nodded. Since they were not afraid of him, how could he not treat them with courtesy?
“Just right, I need a maid to clean the rooms in Canglang One Floating Life. I would appreciate Sister Riss for every cleaning session.”
After Jufeng finished speaking, he looked at Claudia with a playful smile. Initially taken aback, Claudia quickly regained her composure and replied with a charming smile, “I am willing to do my best. Please have Feng Shao send a few brothers to help me bring down the luggage from the car; I would be very grateful.”
As they stepped out of Canglang One Floating Life, Lezheng looked in surprise at the woman directing the Brothers to move luggage at the entrance. He thought to himself how impressive she was; it seemed like she was moving her entire home.
“Brother Jufeng, this woman won’t pose any threat to you, will she? And if your sister-in-law finds out, you won’t…”
Jufeng stood calmly in the sunlight, watching the youthful and lively Claudia not far away. He replied calmly, “Don’t worry; she is a smart woman who knows what to do and what not to do. As for Jia'er, you can be even more assured. She doesn’t mind being around me; she has confidence in me!”
