The three of them maintained a triangular formation, known in ancient Huaguo as the Earthly Triad Formation. In situations where the enemy's whereabouts were unknown, this formation proved to be quite effective. They encountered a few Terrorists attempting ambushes, but none succeeded; instead, they were discovered. Unfortunately, their resolve to die was strong, and they left no survivors. 0

As they cautiously advanced, they reached several locations learned from the captured Communication Boxes, but found nothing. Either the places were deserted or in ruins, with only remnants of broken armor left behind. Clearly, other Cosmic Police forces had discovered these sites beforehand; it seemed that the reputation of these three military factions was not merely for show. 0

By the time they finished searching, night had deepened. The dark sky was studded with stars, dazzling and luxurious, though it lacked a bright moon to illuminate the scene amidst the constellation's embrace. Of course, this absence could also be seen as a different kind of beauty. 0

The energy levels of their mechs had dwindled to half. The aimless wandering consumed a lot of energy. After Vera showcased her skills, Jufeng took the lead in the formation. Don't think there was any issue with logic; this was a strong request from Feng Shao. 0

So when Jufeng halted his mech, the other two followed suit. Then came Jufeng's voice through the communication channel. 0

"We can't keep going like this. This mountain range is vast, and the Terrorists could be hiding anywhere. We three have no logistical support; if our energy runs low and we encounter them again, it would be dangerous. We should find a base of the Cosmic Police first and replenish our energy before making further plans." 0

Liu Gulang had already considered this plan; after all, they were only here for investigation and had no responsibilities or obligations to fight to the death. Vera was also inclined to go along with whatever suited the situation, so her silence was an implicit agreement. 0

Seeing that neither of them objected, Jufeng intended to ask Goofy for directions to locate a Fighter Jet for a temporary base. However, before he could do anything, a thunderous explosion erupted not far to the northwest, shaking the ground as if an earthquake had struck. Boulders began tumbling down from the peaks. 0

The three steadied themselves and exchanged glances through their mechs before activating their engines and flying toward the source of the tremor. 0

Such intense vibrations could only be caused by a mech self-destructing in the absence of any starship presence—and it had to be a fully operational mech. Generally speaking, no one would resort to a suicide attack without reason; thus, they quickly deduced that a fierce battle must have erupted. 0

It was highly likely that two armies were clashing! 0

They activated their maximum speed and maneuvered swiftly through the towering mountains. Each pilot demonstrated remarkable skill, allowing them to move at astonishing speeds. 0

Soon enough, they crested a hill and found themselves overlooking a vast plain below. On that plain stood hundreds of mechs engaged in combat; chaos reigned between the two forces. A particularly striking depression spanning several dozen meters caught their eye—it looked as if it had been painted with blood, telling tales of the devastation wrought by that recent self-detonation. 0

One side resembled an ocean of camouflage patterns interspersed with occasional splashes of other colors as mechs poured in from all directions. Jufeng and his companions made a swift decision to blend into the military battlefield. 0

In terms of both numbers and technology, the Cosmic Police held overwhelming advantages; however, the Terrorists' determination to fight was fierce—they simply needed to encircle and eliminate them without unnecessary sacrifices. 0

Jufeng's trio landed quietly among the troops at the rear—not out of cowardice but because this vantage point offered a broader view of the battlefield. As initially stated, they were here merely to investigate matters concerning the Azure Dragon Monk; without news from that previous captive, they could only seek information from others. 0

They initially thought no one would recognize them among this crowd and planned to follow silently behind the main force. However, they overlooked that upon entering this planet, they had caught the attention of a captain from a squadron within the Galactic Ironclad Corps. 0

Not long after they landed, two or three mechs strode purposefully toward them from the front lines. At first, Jufeng and his companions paid little attention but soon realized those mechs were heading straight for them—an unsettling realization settled in their hearts. 0

Soldiers are as fierce as tigers! 0

"Isn't that an officer from Earth? Since you've come to the battlefield, why hide in the back? With such cowardice, you might as well return to your Earth sooner." 0

The one who spoke was Squad Leader Hua Cheng, his words directed at Jufeng, but his gaze behind the armored shell fell on Vera. 0

The mechs of the three were distinct from the military's, making them easily recognizable. The elite members of the Ironclad Troops accompanying Hua Cheng looked at the trio with disdain, as if a few noisy crows had suddenly intruded into their crops. 0

However, Jufeng showed no awareness of being "the crow." Seeing Hua Cheng's aggressive approach, he couldn't help but chuckle. With a humble demeanor, he smiled and said, "Squad Leader Hua, that's not fair. We three are merely unskilled and unworthy; we wouldn't dare disturb you in the front lines. If we were to affect your battle plans, wouldn't that make us criminals?" 0

Jufeng wore a submissive expression, which pleased Hua Cheng greatly, especially with a woman beside him who had an ethereal voice. 0

Hua Cheng snorted coldly, slightly turning to face Vera directly. His tone softened considerably as he fancied himself a gentleman. "Miss, as far as I know, the captain of the 521st Landing Troops is a man. You certainly have a sense of humor." 0

Upon hearing Hua Cheng's words, Liu Gulang beside him scoffed inwardly. It was already your dereliction of duty; now you can still laugh and call it "humor." What a person. 0

Vera remained unfazed and replied lightly, "I'm sorry, but we truly are from Earth." 0

Jufeng's identity was genuine; this was something Hua Cheng had already verified. Thus, he did not pursue Vera for lying. Otherwise, even if he were infatuated, he wouldn't take such a big risk. 0

Seeing Vera respond to him, Hua Cheng felt even more delighted and took the opportunity to say, "Miss, when the battle begins and the artillery flies indiscriminately, why not stay by my side? It would be safer for you." 0

Jufeng thought to himself that this was indeed good; get her away from me quickly so she doesn't lose control and reveal her perverse mech abilities. That would require us to explain ourselves. 0

Jufeng's thoughts were indeed correct; unfortunately, he was merely wishful thinking. Vera's next move startled him greatly. 0

Vera maneuvered her mech closer to Jufeng and then stood closely behind him. She addressed Hua Cheng, saying, "No need for Squad Leader Hua's concern; he will protect me." 0

Perhaps due to her immersion in the act, Vera's cool voice suddenly turned sweet and sticky, reaching into one's bones. 0

Hua Cheng raised an eyebrow at this but regrettably went unnoticed. He coldly remarked, "Just him?" 0

Jufeng felt thoroughly trapped by Vera's actions. At this point, he could only go along with it. Since he had set an identity for himself, he might as well play his part fully. 0

Suddenly, Jufeng's mech wrapped around Vera's mech as he helplessly said, "I truly appreciate Squad Leader Hua's kindness; it's just that this worthless partner has no such fortune—it's only me who can protect her in this life." 0

The term "worthless partner," combined with his affectionate gesture, instantly ignited Hua Cheng's fury. Unfortunately, his anger was unjustified and illogical; thus he could only suppress it for now. 0

The comrades accompanying Hua Cheng saw their brother being humiliated and were ready to teach Jufeng a lesson. However, just then, the Terrorists launched an attack again, forcing them to abandon their plans. 0

Hua Cheng spoke with a harsh tone before leaving, "Second Lieutenant, I hope you are lucky enough not to become cannon fodder right away! Let's go!" 0

They arrived quickly and left just as fast. As they turned, Jufeng suddenly heard Vera's voice beside him. 0

"How long do you plan to hold on?" 0

Upon hearing this, Jufeng chuckled awkwardly, "Just playing along, just playing along..." 0

The battle began without any buffer time. Although Jufeng and his companions did not intend to fight to the death, they still needed to put on a show. Moreover, if they didn't capture some terrorists on the battlefield, their investigation might end up fruitless. 0

Entering serious mode, Jufeng's gaze became calm as he said to Vera and the Lone Wolf, "Let's stick together and engage in close combat with the aim of capturing prisoners alive." 0
