Due to the large number of people, the place they entered was not Yang Chou's office, but a spacious conference room.
Azure Dragon Monk, Yang Chou, and another leader from the Terrorist group sat in the center of the conference room, while the core leaders of their respective teams stood around, quietly listening to the "tripartite talks" led by their boss.
Yang Chou was the victor of this encounter, and since he had invited Azure Dragon Monk to his territory, he naturally took the lead in speaking.
He looked at Azure Dragon Monk with a smile and said, "Elder Dragon, you’ve traveled a long way. It must have been tough for you to transport weapons for the Brothers. I, Yang, would like to express my gratitude here."
Hearing this, Azure Dragon Monk laughed heartily and replied, "Brother Yang is being too polite! What I’ve done is merely a small effort. The real hard work has been done by both of you on the front lines, constantly risking your lives. It is because of your sacrifices in seizing resources that our weapon manufacturing has gone so smoothly."
Jufeng could imagine that their conversation would be light due to their mutual interests, but he did not expect them to be so polite. To an outsider, it seemed as if they were long-time friends. Little did he know that once interests were set aside, each person would reveal their true, fierce nature.
The leader who had faced defeat during the Military Exercise finally showed a hint of joy when his contributions were mentioned. He had been gloomy and reluctant to show any sign of happiness when with Yang Chou.
With a smug smile and an arrogant expression, he exclaimed loudly, "Monk, I remember you went to scout a planet before, right? I heard you ran into some tough opponents. What happened exactly?"
Azure Dragon Monk recalled that incident but his expression darkened. Even Jufeng couldn't help but perk up his ears.
In a serious tone, Azure Dragon Monk said, "Don't mention it. I went to investigate the production of mecha and battleship shells made from Crystal. Unexpectedly, we encountered a large group of Cosmic Police. In the end, we had to sacrifice many brothers just to ensure our safe departure. We could have achieved complete victory without leaving a trace at the end, but then a Red-Class Mecha Pilot suddenly appeared and completely disrupted our plans. We lost another elite member because of that."
"Later on, after further investigation, we found that the type of Crystal was indeed highly compatible. Unfortunately, when we returned to that location, we discovered that the mountain range had been heavily secured by the Cosmic Police. I suspect it was due to the exposed weakness of that Azure Level Mecha pilot that our weapon manufacturing progress has been significantly delayed and our numbers fell short of expectations."
Jufeng listened intently to Azure Dragon Monk's words and realized that his unintentional discovery had played a crucial role. It seemed they would have to return there for mining again later, but unfortunately, it appeared they would return empty-handed.
It was clear from the gritted teeth of the Azure Dragon Monk that he had suffered a significant loss.
The leader, upon hearing this, couldn't help but show a pained expression, though internally he was quite pleased. Firstly, even though they were both Terrorists, there existed a balance of power between them. The weakening of the Azure Dragon Monk was undoubtedly beneficial to him, as it did not affect the overall situation. Secondly, since the first batch of weapons did not belong to him, the worse their quality and the fewer in number, the happier he felt.
Yang Chou noticed the displeased expression on the Azure Dragon Monk's face while another leader clearly reveled in his misfortune. Understanding that this topic could impact their morale, he quickly changed the subject with a sly smile, saying, "We really have to thank Flower Boss for conceding this time! We only managed to win by a narrow margin after dragging the Military Exercise into the evening. It was truly a close call."
The one called Flower Boss scoffed at this remark and replied, "A win is a win; there’s no need for concessions. We simply weren't as skilled. But next time, you won't win so easily."
The Azure Dragon Monk naturally enjoyed the comparison between the two teams and quickly added, "I heard your battle reports while on the aircraft. Coming up with a way to win Gunfire with Gunfire—Yang the Boss truly embodies military spirit!"
The flattery exchanged among these three was almost nauseating to Jufeng. He felt a strong aversion; they all had their own hidden agendas yet pretended to be close at this moment. Their acting skills were impressive, but his own abilities paled in comparison. Just as his internal complaints were not yet finished, Yang Chou and Azure Dragon Monk's subsequent conversation startled Jufeng. He quickly stepped aside slightly behind Yang Fang and gestured for Yang Fang to speak on his behalf.
Yang Chou remarked, "Azure Dragon Elder greatly overestimates me. At that time, I was at headquarters and couldn't relay information to the battlefield; it was all thanks to my brothers."
"Oh?" Azure Dragon Monk responded with interest, smiling as he said, "Indeed, strong generals have no weak soldiers. Yang the Boss's prized pupil—I must get to know him well; he is surely a future successor!"
After saying this, Azure Dragon Monk looked around for Yang Chou's prized pupil. Yang Fang didn't understand why Jufeng would pass up such an opportunity for recognition and instead let it go to him. After pondering for a moment, he seemed to grasp something and looked at Jufeng with gratitude.
After some thought, he stood up respectfully and said, "My name is Yang Fang; I am a cousin of Yang Chou. I am honored by your recognition, Azure Dragon Elder."
Seeing that this person was composed and had a close relationship with Yang Chou, Azure Dragon Monk nodded approvingly and said, "Truly, talents emerge from every generation. Excellent! Yang the Boss, I must advocate for your cousin here; when it comes time to choose weapons later, you should give him some priority."
Yang Chou was in high spirits due to recent good fortune; how could he be stingy with someone from his own family? He readily agreed as the three began discussing preparations for receiving the weapons.
Jufeng watched the three figures leave the room, finally letting out a sigh of relief. Despite his confidence in Vera's disguise skills, the reality of facing her so closely still left him feeling uneasy.
The next order of business was a group tour, but it was merely a superficial glance; the specific performance would need to be monitored during further inspections.
Once these matters were settled, the three entered Yang Chou's office to discuss secrets known only to them. Jufeng's involvement was no longer necessary, so he quickly accompanied Yang Fang and called Hua Cheng and others to assist with the handling of weapons.
