The military headquarters of the Yangcheng Military District is located on a wide road in Yang City. There are not many people around, but countless vehicles pass by every day.
Jufeng and Chen Tan Hua arrived here and met up with the five members of Hua Cheng who were already waiting at the entrance. Jufeng had previously informed Bill and Party Xueyi, so after announcing their names, they were directly led to Party Xueyi's office.
Like the government building, each office and the nameplates at their doors exuded a chilling atmosphere that made one feel apprehensive upon entering, regardless of whether one had a guilty conscience.
After softly pressing the doorbell, Jufeng casually glanced at the five members of Hua Cheng while waiting for a response. Despite having exhausted themselves during the night’s battle, all five appeared to be in good condition, a testament to their military training. As they were about to meet their superior, they showed no signs of nervousness, while Jufeng felt a bit anxious himself.
After all, he had inexplicably been promoted to the rank of Major and participated in many unexpected activities in the distant Large Magellanic Cloud. Whether all this was within the approval of Party Xueyi or higher authorities remained uncertain. Although he believed that his actions were justified in principle, doubt lingered.
After a moment, an assistant came to open the door for Jufeng and his companions. Jufeng exchanged glances with the others before they entered the room.
Seeing Party Xueyi again, both the environment and manner of meeting had changed. The Colonel sat behind his desk, wearing glasses as he reviewed some documents. Upon hearing Jufeng and the others' footsteps, he put down his pen and looked up with a broad smile.
Party Xueyi was a benefactor to Jufeng; in terms of rank, he was his superior, and in terms of age, he was an elder. Thus, it was only natural for him to speak first.
After a standard military salute, Jufeng said clearly, “Second Lieutenant Jufeng reporting to you, sir.”
Party Xueyi chuckled as he removed his glasses and teased, “Second Lieutenant? That doesn’t seem right. Ah? I’m a Major now!”
Hearing Party Xueyi's tone eased Jufeng's mind considerably. His serious expression quickly transformed into a smile as he replied playfully, “Colonel Party, please don’t say that. In front of you, I will always be a Second Lieutenant.”
Seeing that Jufeng still had the leisure to flatter him reassured Party Xueyi that the turmoil in the Large Magellanic Cloud hadn’t affected him. He felt pleased; after all, this was someone he had personally nurtured. It was impressive that someone so young could achieve the rank of Major.
He gestured for Jufeng and his companions to take their seats. His assistant of over ten years timely brought in tea before disappearing from view. Only then did Jufeng and Party Xueyi begin discussing today’s agenda.
“I’ve heard some things about the terrorists,” Party Xueyi said. “The higher-ups have conveyed that we should fully cooperate with you. Just tell me your plans; I’ll see what kind of assistance I can provide.”
Jufeng pondered for a moment before organizing his thoughts and replied, “We cannot conduct large-scale searches by the military because we don’t know how deep the terrorists’ roots run on Earth. If we startle them, it will be difficult to eradicate them completely. What I mean is that I would like my brothers to participate in peacekeeping operations worldwide under legitimate military identities. I believe in their capabilities; if there are any clues, they will surely follow them to uncover more.”
Party Xueyi did not immediately agree but took some time to consider Jufeng’s proposal. After confirming that there was nothing unreasonable about it, he said, “Alright then, but this means it may take longer; the conflict in the Large Magellanic Cloud will continue for some time.”
Jufeng knew the drawbacks of this approach, but to eliminate future troubles, he had to choose a conservative method. Otherwise, if they did not eradicate the roots, those who mastered scientific construction techniques could spread like weeds anywhere.
After discussing some details with Party Xueyi, Jufeng left the ominous territory of the Yangcheng Military District. They had temporarily formed the Hurricane Squad, led by Chen Tan Hua, who was fully responsible for this reconnaissance mission.
With official matters settled, it would take some time to implement everything, but that was no longer within Jufeng's worries. However, personal matters were different; they could involve everything from grand plans to cunning schemes, all requiring Jufeng's involvement.
Being in the midst of it all meant his heart had to be in it too.
Returning from Yang City to Washing City took just a moment of drowsiness. When Jufeng arrived back at Canglang One Floating Life, he was startled to find the room filled with senior management from Hurricane.
"Have we been pushed back to our home base by Hua Gang?"
After embracing Xue, Jufeng looked at the crowd and made a half-hearted joke. Xue understood that Jufeng bore no ill will; he simply felt a bit down about the situation and replied with a wry smile, "I truly apologize this time. We haven't been pushed back home yet, but we're close to being besieged."
After dismissing some personnel and keeping only a few core members, Xue slowly explained the current situation.
Hua Gang, the Unification Alliance, and the United Heart Association had joined forces for a sudden assault on Hurricane. They had not managed to organize an effective defense before losing large territories. Now, aside from most of Liaoning Province, Northeast had completely fallen. Fortunately, Hurricane's strength was superior; they had not suffered significant damage and were currently defending in Liaoning Province. It would be difficult for the enemy to make any further advances.
Listening to Xue's report, Jufeng felt more relieved than worried. "This is much better than I imagined! I thought that with the former Huaguo and Three Titans teaming up against us, we would have no way to defend ourselves. But now that I've heard everything, the situation isn't so dire."
The remaining personnel in the room were leaders of various factions. They hadn't expected their boss to show no signs of blame and even offer such comfort. Despite being on the brink of siege, there was no hint of despair among them; their boss truly deserved respect.
Lezheng and Chen Huoxiong exchanged glances. Over these past two months, their relationship had strengthened significantly. Under their leaders' guidance, the old and new generations of Hurricane had blended their strengths rapidly.
In each other's eyes, they saw surprise and joy; as long as their leader remained unbroken, they would not give up.
Jufeng slowly scanned the room again. The smile on his face gradually faded as he became serious. "Actually, when I returned and saw you all gathered in this cramped place at Canglang One Floating Life, I felt quite unhappy. Have you forgotten our glorious days when we fought from one district in Washing City to conquer all of Huaguo? Have you forgotten our passionate spirit back then? A true man should experience the world outside rather than hide in a greenhouse lamenting with a frown! I hope that from this moment on, Hurricane will be just like before!"
Jufeng's brief words struck deep into everyone's hearts like thunderclaps. Lezheng, Chen Huoxiong, and Zhu Mao felt their spirits lift as the gloom of recent days vanished. In unison, they declared, "Hurricane will prevail! We will shine again!"
The voice was so resounding that it reached the ears of the Brothers outside the door, like a stimulant that penetrated deep into everyone's hearts, causing the eyes of Hurricane's Brothers to suddenly become eager!
Xue noticed the change in everyone in the room, and warmth filled his heart. Recently, he had been busy dealing with the joint attacks from the Three Major Factions, and he was feeling somewhat exhausted. But now, Jufeng had returned.
The soul had returned.
The general was back with the army.
A brand new journey was about to begin, and the footsteps of the Three Major Factions should come to a halt here!
