Jufeng had been wandering and fighting ever since returning to Earth, his restless steps never ceasing. Little did he expect to find a moment of respite on foreign soil. Every time he enjoyed food, drinks, and leisure with Ikeda Masahiro, savoring life and experiencing exotic cultures, he was accompanied by a stunning beauty, making it truly a carefree existence that felt superior to that of the immortals. 0

Unfortunately, mere mortals could never escape the passage of time; the carefree days could not withstand the flow of the river of time, and soon he would have to rush back to the tumultuous battlefield. 0

On a plane heading to Europe, Jufeng sat side by side with the Ikeda siblings and Hayamura Shuichi, the closed-door disciple of Martial Sovereign. The cabin was the most ordinary and cheapest kind, filled with people from the working class. 0

Romain glanced at Ikeda Masahiro beside him. Her casual outfit still looked like one of the most popular styles from the night market; however, on her, it seemed as if those street clothes were hanging on a high-end rack in a department store. 0

"I'm really curious how you managed to convince your uncle and aunt to let you come along," he said. 0

Ikeda's parents were well aware of their son's profession but respected it due to their trust in him. However, they were usually stricter with their daughter. So when Ikeda Kenji explained to their parents that he had matters to attend to, logically they should not have agreed to let her come along. 0

Yet here she was, which proved she had indeed received permission from her family. 0

This piqued Romain's curiosity. 0

Ikeda Masahiro had delicate headphones hanging from her ears. As the plane was about to take off, she took them off and neatly put them away before answering Romain's question. 0

"It's simple. I told them I was going out on a date with you, and they agreed." 0

As soon as Ikeda Masahiro finished speaking, Hayamura Shuichi, sitting at the other end next to Ikeda Kenji, suddenly opened his eyes wide, his gaze piercing with intensity. 0

Ikeda Kenji sighed inwardly. He always respected his sister's wishes regarding her affairs. Although he admired Hayamura Shuichi for being both sharp and composed, he felt unable to offer more support in matters of the heart. 0

Romain sensed the hostility across two seats and chuckled silently without responding. Ikeda Masahiro did not expect any reaction from him either; she organized her headphones and leaned back in her seat to rest her eyes. 0

After a while, a rumbling sound filled the cabin as a faint sense of weightlessness swept through. Soon after, calmness returned once more. 0

The plane had been flying for over four hours when it finally crossed the ocean and landed in Clotia. 0

Clotia was a small country in Europe. Jufeng received notification from Vera that he had arrived here. They were to wait for someone to pick them up before heading to the final selection site for the Holy Judgment Council. 0

The four of them exited the airport and stood quietly outside, waiting. Before long, someone indeed found them. The person had the same European features, but Jufeng was certain he had never seen him before. 0

Vera had considered everything thoroughly, so the newcomer spoke fluent and standard Mandarin right away. 0

"Please follow me." 0

Without questioning their identities, Jufeng and the others did not suspect anything. The person led them to a business vehicle, personally took on the role of driver, and without any small talk, drove off. 0

As the car started moving, a few vehicles discreetly followed behind. It was unusual for the Underboss of the Yamamoto Clan to only bring along Hayamura Shuichi. 0

After an hour's drive, they passed through a bustling city and entered a hilly area. The mountain roads twisted like a sleeping dragon, winding through the undulating landscape. 0

Eventually, the car stopped at a hotel in a town. The person who picked them up declared the end of his task with one sentence. 0

"This is Prit Town. Someone will be here to receive you at the hotel. I hope you enjoy your time here." 0

After getting out of the car, Jufeng gazed into the distance and saw an expanse of ocean ahead. They had been ascending all this way, so it seemed this town was built on a mountainside by the sea. 0

The scenery of the town was beautiful; the streets were not wide but exceptionally clean. Orange-red geraniums bloomed vibrantly in the flowerbeds on either side. The air carried a faint salty scent of the sea, reminiscent of Huan City University Town. 0

After briefly enjoying the view, the four of them followed instructions to find their host, checked in, and awaited further arrangements from Vera, who was accustomed to controlling everything. 0

After settling in, the four gathered in one room. Before long, there was a knock at the door, and one of Ikeda Kenji's subordinates entered. 0

He exchanged a few words with his boss in English, then left a package before departing. 0

Due to strict regulations on the plane, many weapons could not be carried, and the package contained some handguns and Hayamura Shuichi's throwing knives. 0

Ikeda Kenji took out a handgun from the package and examined it carefully. Not finding anything unusual, he didn't ask any questions and simply handed it to Jufeng. 0

Once everything was prepared, they all rested to regain their energy. To be cautious, they remained in one room. Ikeda Masahiro occupied the entire bed alone, while the three other men either sat on the sofa or on stools. Hayamura Shuichi stood resolutely by the window. 0

Vera arrived at the inn without making everyone wait too long, though she was missing her ever-present companion, Lance. 0

Without any unnecessary small talk or buildup, Vera delivered some bad news directly to everyone. 0

"The people from Yuta Shouroku have also been invited to participate in this selection competition." 0

Vera's words startled everyone, and Ikeda Kenji couldn't help but furrow his brow. He had managed to evade Yuta Shouroku's eyes and ears to come here but had overlooked that they could do the same. Moreover, with Utada Hikaru's involvement, it added some leverage to their chances. 0

Seeing that everyone fell into a brief silence, Jufeng couldn't help but ask, "I've always been curious why your Yamamoto Clan places such importance on this Holy Judgment Council. Is it really true that obtaining a Vice Captain position gives you more leverage in the struggle for power?" 0

Ikeda Kenji explained, "Brother Jufeng may not know this, but the original founder of the Yamamoto Clan was also one of the founders of the Saint Envoy. Therefore, there has always been a tradition that the president must secure at least a Vice Captain position for the Yamamoto Clan within the Saint Envoy. Now that Utada Hikaru is dead, if I can get Xiu Yi into that position, it will naturally win people's hearts and make it easier for Yuta Shouroku to step down." 0

Upon hearing Ikeda Kenji's explanation, Jufeng finally understood his confusion. 0

Ikeda Kenji continued, "Although I've always opposed the president, it's not yet at a public level. If he discovers that I'm participating in this selection process, he will inevitably be more wary of me, greatly reducing my chances of a successful ambush." 0

Vera and Jufeng understood what Ikeda Kenji meant, and they couldn't help but feel a bit confused. 0

After a moment, Hayamura Shuichi's voice suddenly rang out. 0

"Excuse me, Vera, do you know who they sent to compete for the position this time?" 0

Vera looked at the closed-door disciple of the Martial Sovereign, her gaze carrying an unusual depth. "It is said to be the Martial Sovereign's eldest disciple, your senior brother." 0

Hayamura Shuichi seemed to have anticipated this answer. He turned to Ikeda Kenji and said, "Underboss, let me go and assassinate him in secret. That way, we can avoid being discovered." 0

Hayamura Shuichi's suggestion made sense; the best way to keep things under wraps was to eliminate the root cause. However, the person Yuta Shouroku sent wouldn't be so easily assassinated. If he didn't possess strength comparable to Utada Hikaru's, he wouldn't have been sent to make a fool of himself. 0

Yet, Ikeda Kenji shook his head firmly. 0
