Ikeda Kenji spoke in an unyielding tone, "Even if we are discovered, if we ultimately secure our positions, it will be worth it. Watanabe Ichiro's strength is comparable to yours. If you take the risk to kill him, you will inevitably suffer serious injuries yourself, and in the end, only other fishermen will benefit."
What Ikeda Kenji said was not unfounded. The top disciple of the Martial Sovereign, like Hayamura Shuichi, was no ordinary opponent. Attempting to take him down single-handedly would come at a great cost. The outcome of a struggle between two parties would only result in both losing their chance at securing a position.
Hayamura Shuichi fell silent, realizing that Ikeda Kenji's words held considerable truth. Although he was eager to assist the Underboss, he understood the importance of prioritizing their objectives. The purpose of this mission was to vie for the Vice Captain position, and individuals like Ikeda Kenji would not act recklessly.
The atmosphere grew tense as silence enveloped them; the sudden turn of events necessitated a swift solution.
After a while, Jufeng broke the silence. Instead of proposing a specific plan, he turned to Vera and asked, "The Saint Envoy has invited powerful individuals from around the world for this selection. If there were to be a murder among the competitors before the event, would that affect the outcome?"
While everyone had been preoccupied with how to commit murder, Jufeng had pinpointed the crux of the matter. Indeed, if a murder occurred before the competition and the Saint Envoy decided to punish both parties involved, wouldn't that render their efforts futile?
"That won't happen. The Saint Envoy only concerns themselves with the final results during the competition; they won't pay attention to what happens before or after. This has happened before—one newly appointed Vice Captain was assassinated by rival factions shortly after being selected."
Vera and Jufeng had developed a rapport over six months, so when Jufeng asked his question, Vera anticipated his intentions and continued, "The Bear Guard has considerable strength here; I can have Lance assist as well."
Jufeng pondered for a moment before responding seriously, "You have the Bear Guard, but Yuta Shouroku undoubtedly has his own elite guards as well. It may be difficult to eliminate them completely. If they discover any flaws, Yuta Shouroku will certainly take notice."
"I can count as one; another expert will arrive shortly. If we all work together, we should be able to ensure success."
Ikeda Kenji looked at Jufeng with gratitude in his eyes, but more than that was a sense of righteous determination. He said, "Thank you very much, Brother Jufeng and Vera. Although we are partners in this endeavor, I feel guilty for relying on your assistance so much. Once this matter is resolved, I will do everything in my power to eliminate Yuta Shouroku from his position."
Hayamura Shuichi thought for a moment and added sincerely, "Thank you!"
Seeing their reactions, Jufeng shook his head with a smile and said, "We are all partners; there's no need for such formalities. As long as Brother Xiu Yi can successfully secure the Vice Captain position, all our efforts will be worthwhile."
Hayamura Shuichi's eyes gleamed with determination as he declared firmly, "Absolutely!"
Prit Town was indeed built on a mountain peak of modest height. Standing on the streets allowed one to gaze out at the vast ocean not far away; under the moonlight at night, its surface shimmered with silvery light—a breathtaking sight from afar.
The town had few residents scattered across its expansive area. It took about thirty minutes for Jufeng and his group to travel from their inn to another residential area beyond a nearby hill. Under Lance's lead, the Bear Guard accompanied Jufeng as they arrived at the edge of the forest, where another expert who had been with Jufeng during the day joined them.
"I was just enjoying the sunshine on Xavier's island, and then your call dragged me here. Being your brother is not easy at all. After such a long time, there hasn't been a single clue. However, I have experienced quite a bit of Earth's scenery. I must say, it truly feels like home; it's hard to come by such sights on other planets."
The speaker was a young man who often wore a smile. It was his first visit to Earth, and he had been here for over a month, investigating matters concerning human safety. Of course, most of his time had been spent traveling around the globe.
Jufeng scoffed and said bluntly, "Don't complain to me about this. This job has no real danger and allows for public-funded travel. I can't tell you how many people would fight for this opportunity. If it weren't for our friendship in Outer Space, you wouldn't even be here. Look at me, running around, always on the edge of life and death—now we have to kill someone. We'll deal with our matters later; let's resolve the immediate target first."
Chen Tan Hua gazed at a nearby European-style building, its lights extinguished, giving it an eerie and sinister appearance.
He turned back to look at his companions; none of them were street performers; their abilities were formidable, especially the burly man leading them. His muscular arms were exaggeratedly large, exuding a threatening aura.
"Who are we dealing with that requires such a large setup? You guys can't handle it alone! Just so you know, I haven't bought insurance yet. If I happen to sacrifice myself later, you better make my funeral grand!"
Jufeng didn't continue to joke with Chen Tan Hua because Lance had already received reports from his subordinates and was about to initiate action!
On a night close to the ocean, winds frequently stirred between land and sea, rustling the leaves in the forest and providing great convenience for their stealthy operation.
"Whoosh! Whoosh!" Taking advantage of the darkness and wind sounds, the group emerged from the woods, forming a crescent moon shape as they swiftly advanced toward the nearby Western-style building.
Since most of the personnel here were Bear Guards, Lance was in charge of this operation. With a single command from him, everyone scaled the wall in unison—every movement was synchronized and orderly without any unnecessary noise.
Jufeng observed everything closely and once again compared the capabilities of the Bear Guards with those of Azure Wind Antelope. Overall, there was indeed some difference. It seemed that Chang Guohong's responsibilities and the journey ahead were still quite daunting!
After scaling the wall, they were now just steps away from the Western-style building. However, as soon as they landed—despite their quiet movements—they still startled those inside.
Suddenly, lights within the building brightened one after another as whispers quickly spread to every corner of the interior, and a heavy killing intent instantly enveloped the area.
Pulling one thread could unravel the entire tapestry.
Lance decisively issued the order to commence the slaughter, leaving half of the Bear Guards stationed downstairs to guard against any potential escapees.
Half of the Bear Guard, led by Lance, charged toward the Western-style Building. They either took the main route, rushing up the stairs into the building, their knives glinting ominously, ready to slash at any enemies they encountered.
A small portion of them chose a different approach, climbing through the open Window or leaping in through broken panes. This tactic proved effective, catching the enemies off guard in those crucial first moments.
Jufeng and Chen Tan Hua opted for this method as well. The two of them climbed side by side to a second-floor window of the Western-style Building. As they entered the room, they unexpectedly came face to face with two Asian figures preparing to step out and confront the attackers. Clearly, the two adversaries were momentarily stunned, allowing Jufeng's thrown shards of glass to strike one of them on the shoulder.
Though it was merely a superficial wound that hardly affected their combat effectiveness, it was enough to cause a brief pause for both enemies. Even just a second or two was sufficient for Chen Tan Hua to close the distance from the windowsill to their side.
Seeing the enemy move with lightning speed, both adversaries instinctively raised their swords to protect their vital areas. However, the human body is incredibly fragile, and there are many vital spots.
Chen Tan Hua smiled slightly, whether it was a smile that emerged in that moment or one he had carried all along was unclear. Then, with a swift motion of his right hand, he slashed across one person's neck in an instant and pierced through another's chest in the next.
