In a Three-Star Hotel in Hecheng, a relatively underdeveloped area, it was considered quite a high-end establishment. Meizi stared blankly at the suitcase not far in front of her.
The suitcase was black and filled with money—so much that it could support her family for a long time.
This was delivered by Jufeng's people just moments ago. He truly kept his promises; he had just sent some initial gifts after their first meeting. It was still early morning, the Morning Star still twinkling, and yet the money had arrived, unexpectedly abundant.
However, because Jufeng was so committed to his word, Meizi found herself at a loss regarding what to do with this money. It wasn't that she was reluctant to accept it; after all, she had faced offers from Shi Yushu that were several times greater than this without any hesitation. It was the uncertainty in her heart that troubled her.
Niu watched Meizi's worried expression and couldn't help but feel downcast himself. Meizi was usually the cheerful one, never taking things to heart—even when she broke Master Uncle's ancient bronze mirror at thirteen and was punished with three months of confinement, she had never looked this troubled.
"Meizi, why don't we just refuse it and think of another way? Master often says there's always a way out; we will surely find a path forward," Niu suggested, trying to lift her spirits.
Meizi shot him an annoyed glance and retorted, "Why should we return the money? Don't you realize Master sent us out to find him? There are plenty of wild fruits and vegetables in the mountains; our family won't starve. You need to understand Master's good intentions—he wants us to seek a way out for the future. You fool!"
Her tone was filled with helplessness and frustration, leaving Niu with his head bowed, too intimidated to argue back.
In truth, Niu understood very well. Master simply hoped that he and Meizi would find someone reliable or like-minded to ally with so that their lineage could continue after they were gone. Niu just didn't want Meizi to be troubled by this matter; seeing her usually bright smile replaced by worry pained him.
Their sect had very few members left; only Meizi and Niu remained as disciples. Yet neither had ever stepped outside the mountain gate. Master Uncle would eventually grow old, and if they didn't have a dependable partner in the secular world by then, they might not be able to maintain their secluded lifestyle dedicated to martial arts.
"What does Jufeng want us to do? Kill Shi Yushu? Or Pizza Hut?" Meizi asked casually, as if discussing mundane matters while mentioning two peak figures in Huaguo's Underworld.
Niu pondered for a moment before replying, "I doubt it. Master is someone who shares a rare understanding with others; he wouldn't choose such a direct approach to resolve conflicts in Huaguo's Underworld. If he did that, his own team wouldn't gain any experience. Once he's gone, how would the hurricane survive?"
If Jufeng were present and heard this conversation, he would surely think he had found a kindred spirit. He never expected anyone would understand him so thoroughly—especially someone with no connection to him at all. Such fate deserved recognition.
Of course, Jufeng would also be astonished to learn that these two young individuals already knew who he was; they had merely played along without revealing their awareness while interacting with both Jufeng and Ikeda Masahiro—two exceptionally talented individuals.
Meizi sighed wistfully and said, "But why isn't it that simple? I've never liked Shi Yushu; that old man from Pizza Hut is even worse. If it weren't for him stirring up trouble, we might have been fine at the United Heart Association. Sigh, it's really frustrating!"
Meizi let out a long sigh, reminiscent of someone standing on a balcony, struggling to compose new verses. Niu stood quietly beside her, noncommittal.
Suddenly, Meizi shifted her tone, narrowing her eyes as she looked at Niu, sending a chill down his spine.
"I have a question for you," Meizi said deliberately in a somber voice. "Will you lie to me?"
Niu instinctively shuddered and quickly replied, "No, absolutely not! I would never lie to Meizi in my life, I swear!"
Upon hearing this, Meizi revealed a cunning smile and slowly walked toward him.
"Then let me ask you, between me and the girl next to Jufeng, who is more beautiful?"
Niu was momentarily speechless; he had calculated everything but never expected Meizi would pose such a tricky question.
As he watched her approach, an ominous feeling washed over him.
"I... I... I don't know!"
"Ah!!! I got it! It's Meizi who's beautiful! Meizi is the most beautiful woman down here!"
"Ah ah ah! I'm not lying! Really not lying..."

In a suite two rooms away, Ikeda Masahiro lay asleep in his bedroom, his freshly washed hair spread messily across the white pillow. He looked incredibly sweet in slumber, like a princess.
In the living room just a wall away, Jufeng and the weary Bill were engaged in quiet conversation. A few exquisite dishes were laid out on the Glazed Tea Table as the two men ate and talked.
"When you return, have Underworld dispatched to pull back Purple Jade Hall and Dragon Hall to Suzhou's main base. And try to minimize splitting forces; there should be at least three hundred at one location."
Jufeng spoke while eating. When he talked, Bill paused to listen, and when he chewed, they both savored their food together.
Jufeng was making arrangements in response to the successful ambush on Pizza Hut that night. Since both of their thoughts aligned, it came down to who could respond more effectively.
The Underworld had strong coordination abilities and individual strength. When a dozen of them came together, they could exert a force greater than the sum of their parts. In the face of an ambush by martial arts experts, their defense became even more formidable. The Purple Jade Hall and Dragon Hall's Brothers were better suited for chaotic battles alongside the Underworld, so it made sense for them to conserve their strength in Suzhou while waiting for a direct confrontation with Hua Gang.
Bill quietly noted Jufeng's words in his mind and listened as Jufeng continued.
"Also, we need to temporarily concentrate all of Hidden Hall's forces in the southeastern coastal area, coordinating with Zhu Mao to minimize our losses. This is a war of mutual attrition; the attacks will be fully entrusted to Azure Wind Antelope, while defense will require your Iron Triangle's cooperation."
Bill was the leader of Hidden Hall, with Wade as his deputy. Zhu Mao led the Underworld. These three had met during Jufeng's first interstellar journey with the Brothers. Initially, there were some amusing misunderstandings, but over time they became tightly bonded brothers who relied on each other for life and death. Fate truly is remarkable.
Long before joining Hurricane, Bill and the others had years of experience together, making them very familiar with one another. Jufeng assigning such an important task to them showed just how much he trusted the three of them.
After considering it for a moment, Jufeng felt he had conveyed everything necessary. As for the specifics, he believed in the strength of his Brothers. He felt comfortable leaving everything in Xue's hands, allowing him to roam freely without worry.
Once Jufeng finished speaking, the two fell into a quiet meal. After eating until they were about three-quarters full, Bill looked up at Jufeng again, silent for a while.
Feeling Bill's gaze, Jufeng furrowed his brow slightly. Bill's expression seemed incredibly serious; however, Jufeng could see through the facade and recognized the joy hidden beneath that seriousness.
"Don't play games with me; you're still too inexperienced for that. If you have something to say, spit it out quickly, or I won't hold back!"
Bill couldn't maintain his serious demeanor any longer; a smile broke through his stern face, and he even chuckled softly.
"Truly worthy of Brother Jufeng; I can't hide anything from you. Ahem! Now I have a major announcement to make. I wonder if Brother Jufeng is prepared to receive this news!"
Jufeng shook his head helplessly and smiled. "I'm already ready to deal with you; go ahead!"
Bill's smile widened even more as he exclaimed, "Congratulations, Brother Jufeng! You're going to be a dad!"
Jufeng had been wearing a teasing smile while talking to Bill, but upon hearing what Bill said, the smile on his face suddenly froze.
"You... what do you mean? I'm going to be a dad? Whose dad?"
Jufeng momentarily couldn't process the information. His thoughts had been immersed in the battles of the Underworld, and suddenly finding out he was going to be a father left his mind blank.
"Brother Jufeng, it's Lu Qijia's wife. Liu Gulang just sent back the news that she just found out she’s pregnant, about three months along. They're on their way back now."
Boom!
Jufeng felt as if a cannon had suddenly exploded in his mind. He jumped to his feet, murmuring repeatedly, "I'm going to be a dad, I'm going to be a dad..."
A smile slowly blossomed on his face, as happy as a flower in bloom.
