A flash of platinum light streaked through the air, and a figure was sent flying, crashing through a door on the third floor of the Detached Villa.
The door shattered instantly, splintering wood flying everywhere, creating an entrance that connected the battlefield outside with the brief peace inside the room.
Zhu Yao slowly walked through the doorway. Inside was a large conference room, now packed with people. It was unclear whether the meeting that had just been held was about how to protect Shi Yushu.
Behind Zhu Yao were the relaxed Jufeng and Ikeda Masahiro. The latter's calm demeanor seemed somewhat forced; despite her claims of being indifferent to bloody slaughter, the shocking visual assaults on Ikeda Masahiro's psyche made it impossible for her natural reactions to align with her stubborn words.
What she saw was merely the tip of the iceberg in darkness. Ikeda Kenji did not want women exposed to such filthy layers, and the Yamamoto Clan held a dominant position in Yingguo, rarely facing opponents like Hurricane and the United Heart Association in a life-and-death struggle.
Thus, a woman's heart is ultimately made of water, fragile as glass, unable to withstand such raw and unadulterated blows.
Feeling nauseous and dizzy, she unconsciously leaned against Jufeng's shoulder.
It appeared much more intimate and warm.
Behind Jufeng stood the burly Tong Bailong. Among them, he looked the most miserable, covered in blood; however, most of it was not his own. His violent approach exuded a brutal beauty, making each splash of blood seem even more exhilarating as he walked through the chaos.
Beyond him were indistinguishable figures from both Azure Wind Antelope and experts from the United Heart Association, their paths intertwining in a tangled web of conflict.
Moments after they entered the room, suddenly, windows on the third floor shattered one after another as over ten people entered from outside, surrounding the numerous members of the United Heart Association.
It sounded absurd for ten or so to encircle dozens, yet that was indeed the reality.
One side consisted of killers while the other comprised protectors; differing perspectives altered nothing about the nature of their confrontation.
In the center of the crowd, Shi Yushu looked at Jufeng, his expression steady, filled only with endless anger.
"Why are you angry, Brother Shi? Shouldn't it be me who is angry? After all, I helped you deal with the spies that Guan Bochao had placed around you. Not only did you not thank me, but now you want to turn against me and eradicate the hurricane. Brother Shi, I may not have read much, but please tell me, is there any principle in this?"
Jufeng had one hand resting on Ikeda Masahiro's shoulder, holding her delicate form close to him as comfortably as possible, while his other hand was tucked into his pocket. In such a solemn and murderous occasion tonight, this seemed rather hasty and overly showy, creating a sense of dissonance.
Thus, Shi Yushu's anger stemmed from the audacity of a rising star to act so arrogantly before him!
Yet he forgot that before their collaboration, when Jufeng sought out Shi Yushu, he had already been fortunate once; at that time, he did not perceive Jufeng as arrogant.
Ultimately, it was because back then Shi Yushu was not yet the leader of the United Heart Association, and Jufeng was not a target oppressed by several gangs.
However, as Jufeng spoke, the anger on Shi Yushu's face began to appear unnatural. From a moral standpoint, Jufeng's words made sense. But when Shi Yushu chose to strike at the hurricane, morality had long been discarded on the street.
It had been ruthlessly devoured by stray dogs.
Those who have lost their bottom line often become incredibly powerful in certain aspects—like having thick skin. So after a moment of awkwardness, Shi Yushu immediately launched a counterattack against Jufeng.
" Jufeng, stop trying to get close to me. If I hadn't fallen for your tricks back then, how could I have allowed the United Heart Association to fall into a fragmented situation? If it weren't for my efforts to turn the tide, we might have been swallowed by the hurricane that was pulling away. You are truly ambitious; if I hadn't seen through you long ago, I would still be deceived by your kind facade. Your intentions towards Hua Gang and your alliance with us to strike against the Unification Alliance are as obvious as Sima Zhao's heart—everyone can see it. That's why I raised the banner of justice to denounce you. How dare you speak so shamelessly here!"
Shi Yushu's words were powerful and resonant. With each statement he made, Jufeng suddenly felt as if he truly owed an apology to Shi Yushu!
An apology for Shi Yushu's thick skin!
The turmoil within the United Heart Association was clearly an inevitable trend; what did it have to do with Jufeng? He had helped Shi Yushu rid himself of Guan Bochao; both of them knew this well. Now, having gained an advantage, Shi Yushu claimed he was deceived by Jufeng —how absurd that was!
As for the schemes of Hua Gang, Shi Yushu truly had nothing to offer, imposing himself here. The entire nation knew how much Hurricane had aided Hua Gang and how generous he had been; his words sounded almost extraterrestrial.
Jufeng shook his head, looking at Shi Yushu with a slight smirk. It was truly unreasonable for someone like him to waste the precious fresh air of this world.
Thus, Jufeng extended his hand, breaking off a piece of wood from the half-open door, and casually threw it towards Shi Yushu.
However, the distance was too great, and with so many heads in between, it was intercepted before it could reach its destination.
But that didn’t matter; Jufeng ’s action was merely a signal, a signal to launch a full-scale attack.
Zhu Yao held the Lunar Blade in front of her and silently charged into the crowd.
Tong Bailong stood before Jufeng like a mountain, shielding him from the storm ahead, yet not obstructing his line of sight.
More than ten experts from Azure Wind Antelope had already joined the fray from outside the window.
Time was tight and the mission heavy, leaving no room for negligence.
The more than ten individuals drawn from Azure Wind Antelope were among the best of the best. Although they were graduates of Intermediate level, they were comparable to typical advanced students. Yet even these ten or so could not gain an advantage against dozens of others.
After all, Shi Yushu had built up his foundation over many years; he had invested everything here and could not lack some weight.
Jufeng's gaze swept through the chaos of battle. Aside from Shi Yushu, he did not see any other members of Senior Management; even his trusted aide Han Fan was absent.
Perhaps he didn’t trust others. Jufeng watched as Shi Yushu hid and dodged in the turmoil and couldn’t help but shake his head. He resembled an incompetent emperor, merely able to temporarily delegate power to a successor; when the time came, he would have to leave.
Shi Yushu was a rough man by birth, with decent skills, but in this chaotic situation, he dared not show any arrogance. After spending so many years in a high position, he had forgotten much of what he once knew.
Jufeng once again pried a piece of wood from the broken door frame, took aim briefly, and threw it into the fray.
There was a burly man about to bring his blade down on Zhu Yao. The piece of wood transformed into a dart and struck the man's raised wrist.
The man cried out in pain, and Zhu Yao, drawn by the sound, swiftly turned and slashed at his chest.
The man fell, struggling for a moment before lying still.
Zhu Yao glanced at Jufeng, her eyes filled with dissatisfaction.
Jufeng looked back defiantly, his gaze firm.
A second later, Zhu Yao conceded. She was in enemy territory, surrounded by the elite fighters that Shi Yushu had cultivated over the years. There was no room for distraction; she could not afford to be stubborn with Jufeng.
She turned and plunged back into the crowd.
Jufeng pried another piece of wood from the door and repeated his earlier actions.
He struck another youth who was attempting to ambush Zhu Yao.
Unwilling to be idle, Jufeng continuously scavenged from the half-door and broken frame nearby, helping Zhu Yao fend off danger.
Without Jufeng's assistance, Zhu Yao would have already accumulated many more wounds by now.
Zhu Yao still looked down on Shi Yushu too much, just like before.
Jufeng continued his throwing without a care for anyone around him. Anyone who intended to interfere with Jufeng was blocked outside by Tong Bailong. No one could take a step beyond that.
Zhu Yao walked towards Shi Yushu from the entrance. It was only a distance of twenty meters, yet every step and every meter was extremely difficult to traverse, even with Jufeng's assistance.
However, step by step, she steadily advanced and eventually arrived in front of Shi Yushu.
Zhu Yao and Shi Yushu stood there, surrounded by only a few people. More had been blocked by the Azure Wind Antelope, and many others were still on their way, but it was already too late.
