The grand welcoming ceremony came to an end after Uncle Lu departed and the two female protagonists entered the villa at Azure Waterside.
The crowd, reluctant to leave, dispersed slowly. Some were enamored by the beauties, others yearned for wealth, while some sought to take advantage of the bustling atmosphere to make a quick profit.
But no matter how much they wished to linger, it was futile; such grandeur came at a price. Behind the scenes, hundreds of Azure Wind Antelope elites were on guard. No one knew if Hua Gang or Shi Yushu's widow harbored any grudges for revenge, so it was best to wrap things up as soon as possible.
Now, the security at Azure Waterside was entirely under Hurricane's control. Jufeng did not employ private forces but instead had his security company under Zongheng Express successfully elected during the competition. Afterward, Jufeng mixed public and private matters, fortifying Azure Waterside like a fortress.
Uncle Lu missed his daughter dearly, but it was limited to just a brief meeting and a hug. He was a restless man, with footprints across every corner of the globe. Describing him as a man of the world suited him best; now that he confirmed his daughter was safe and happy, he could indulge freely in all corners of the earth.
Upon entering Sister Five's villa at Azure Waterside, before Lu Qijia and Claudia could steady their steps, a video call suddenly came through. Both Lu Qijia and Liu Hengying smiled in unison upon seeing the call; when it connected, a familiar and exquisite face appeared.
"Sister Dai, you're pregnant! Really? Wow! In a few days, I can be an aunt! It's hard to believe! Cousin, you're there too! I miss you both so much! But I can't go back to see you yet. Once I have my vacation, I'll definitely come find you right away. Mwah!"
As soon as the call connected, Liu Xiao's excited voice rang out. Among Sister Five's group, she was the most lively and innocent. Just listening to her words made it easy to discern her feelings.
Lu Qijia and Liu Hengying chatted with her for quite some time. If they had been slightly more thoughtful, they might have left more space for Jufeng and Lu Qijia's reunion. However, Liu Xiao didn't think about that at all; she followed her own preferences and continued chatting with Lu Qijia and her cousin.
It was only after Liu Hengying reminded her that Liu Xiao reluctantly hung up the call, not forgetting to raise her voice several decibels at the end as she shouted at Jufeng.
"Brother Feng, Sister Dai is having your child! You must treat her well! If I find out you dare to treat Sister Dai poorly, I won't let you off easily! Hmph! Remember that!"
Jufeng stood at attention in a standard military salute towards the holographic Liu Xiao and jokingly replied, "I will heed Sister Liu's teachings." Only then did Liu Xiao reluctantly end the call.
After hanging up, Liu Hengying and Lu Qijia chatted briefly about Eldest Sister Wen Yun's situation at Magellanic Star. Upon learning everything was going smoothly for Yun Fan, they decided not to delve into details and left space for Jufeng and his two lovers.
Claudia also sensibly went upstairs to rest temporarily. After becoming intimate with Jufeng, she felt immense gratitude towards Lu Qijia; her demeanor had changed significantly. Like an older sister, she took great care of Lu Qijia both in the company and at home, becoming much more virtuous.
In the spacious living room, only Jufeng and Lu Qijia remained.
Jufeng gazed at the woman he loved, his eyes lingering on her slightly rounded belly, just three months along and still not very noticeable.
Lu Qijia walked up to Jufeng, taking his hand as they moved toward the large floor-to-ceiling window.
Before them lay a beautifully crafted flower garden, adorned with some shrubs and small trees that shielded them from prying eyes outside while providing a pleasing view.
Jufeng stepped slightly to the side and slowly wrapped his arms around Lu Qijia from behind. His arms extended from under her ribs to her belly, gently caressing her.
Lu Qijia leaned against Jufeng's embrace, her flawless face adorned with a lovely smile of happiness.
Though she had yet to become a mother, she already radiated the glow of motherhood.
"Really, Jia'er, you’ve worked so hard for me. I love you!" Jufeng exclaimed.
In his arms, Lu Qijia playfully protested, responding to Jufeng's boldness with the affectionate banter that only couples share.
She nestled closer and gazed out at the pleasant scenery outside, speaking lightly in a tone filled with happiness, "Why say such silly things? I’m not struggling at all. It’s you who treats me so well. I’m only just pregnant; we don’t even know if it’s a boy or a girl yet. And look at all this fuss you’re making! If the baby is born, I’ll be spoiled by you even more."
The feeling of happiness truly needed no elaborate reasons. Lu Qijia had never realized that it could stem not just from oneself but also from caring for others.
Jufeng chuckled softly, teasingly brushing his stubble against the sides of Lu Qijia's forehead. "Isn’t it only right to pamper Jia'er? If I don’t spoil my own wife, should I let someone else do it? Besides, I want to give you all the applause and honor before our child is born. Once they arrive, I want them to grow up in a peaceful environment without too much attention or acclaim."
His words warmed Lu Qijia’s heart, filling her with joy and reassurance. She had always believed she would be a good mother, and Jufeng would undoubtedly be a capable father.
In the past, she thought life required honor and recognition, that it was about receiving applause in a crowd—not merely about two people behind closed doors. Love alone wasn’t enough for life.
But now Lu Qijia no longer thought that way; all the honors related to Sister Five or herself had become unimportant. What mattered were the two people—one in her arms and one holding her from behind—together they made up her life.
Life is a mix of sweet, sour, bitter, and salty, but more often than not, it should be sweet.
Because Jufeng had never experienced bitterness.
"Do you remember?" Lu Qijia slowly reminisced about the past.
"Those five clumsy thieves broke in through the window just as you were delivering our package, and they ended up unlucky. I still remember how I shouted and startled you. Thinking back to those times and looking at us now, time truly is a marvelous thing."
Jufeng gently nodded, brushing her palm against the sheer fabric of her dress, caressing Lu Qijia's flat abdomen. Suddenly, she thought of something amusing.
"What name should we give our child in the future? Two characters or three?"
Lu Qijia extended her delicate hand and lightly tapped Jufeng's wrist, playfully scolding, "We don't even know if it's a boy or a girl yet; why would we need to name them so early?"
"Hehe, it's good to be prepared in advance so we won't be flustered later."
Upon hearing this, Lu Qijia genuinely pondered for a moment before suggesting, "If it's a boy, let's call him Yin Mo; if it's a girl, Charming Words."
"Why?" Jufeng asked curiously.
Lu Qijia revealed a childlike proud smile and explained, "Because when I met you, you were so quiet while I talked so much. We should pass on our connection to the next generation so that they can also have their own happy love stories in the future."
Jufeng nodded, surprised that Lu Qijia remembered the past so vividly; it seemed she often reflected on it.
Jufeng felt truly grateful—grateful to the heavens for giving Lu Qijia such perseverance. If she had given up after facing obstacles at the beginning, Jufeng would have lived with regret for life.
"Jia'er, look up."
" Jufeng " called softly, but "Lu Qijia" paid no attention and lifted his head.
What he saw was " Jufeng's" gentle face.
What was imprinted was " Jufeng's" lips.
Sunlight, green trees, and the floor-to-ceiling window.
In this way, " Jufeng " and "Lu Qijia" sweetly kissed.
How I wish it could last until the end of time!
