Jufeng left Liu Xing, hidden beneath his suit, moving hurriedly. He appeared to be a person eager to work, but in reality, he was preoccupied with his own thoughts.
Just moments ago, he couldn't see Chuyang's expression, only her silhouette. Although she seemed somewhat slender, Shangguan Wangyu treated her with great courtesy.
It was still safe; this was truly good.
He walked in that direction and arrived at an area with very few people. At the entrance, two strong figures were on guard.
He clearly told Jufeng that he had come to the right place.
Chuyang had been abducted to Huankezhao for a week now. During this week, every meal was exquisite, and she felt at ease resting. There were also video games and other entertainment facilities arranged in the room, making it a paradise on earth.
Yet Chuyang did not belong to this paradise.
She remained anxious and helpless, even though she had given up her delicate facade. But ultimately, it came down to one truth.
She was just a young girl in the bloom of youth, someone who had never faced storms alone.
Even if the so-called chip implantation plan was real and a cruel fact, it could not change this reality.
Thus, these increasingly beautiful comforts became all the more terrifying for Chuyang.
Today, Shangguan Wangyu allowed Chuyang to go out for a stroll, to experience a taste of freedom after being away for so long within the limited space.
Chuyang stepped outside and witnessed the splendor of Huankezhao, saw its grandeur and magnificence, and glimpsed a microcosm of an empire.
But none of this mattered; what truly made Chuyang's heart race was the feeling of déjà vu.
Yes, she had been here before during her time with Jufeng. However, this sense of familiarity did not simply refer to having visited in the past.
It was a memory of a memory.
It sounded convoluted, but it was the closest to the truth.
Chuyang was genuinely frightened by this emotion, and deep down, she resolved never to go out again, never to experience this feeling again.
Yet she knew that such a decision would merely be an act of avoidance.
But she did not want to escape.
Just as she was struggling with these thoughts, Shangguan Wangyu pushed the door open and entered.
"Have you remembered anything today?"
Chuyang turned her face toward the window, not responding.
Shangguan Wangyu had perhaps grown accustomed to such silent replies; he remained patient and continued to ask, "Do you still enjoy the recent meals? This morning's fresh shrimp is Delta Star's most famous Beautiful Shrimp. Although the name is a bit cliché, the taste is truly exceptional."
If anyone were to witness Shangguan Wangyu speaking so softly and deliberately to someone, his expression gentle and smiling, they would surely be taken aback.
He even leaned closer to touch his face, checking for any signs of disguise, because it was simply too hard to believe.
But this was the truth; every heart has a soft spot, and when poked at that place, even the fiercest glare can soften.
However, Shangguan Wangyu's behavior made Chuyang feel quite disgusted.
She turned around, glaring at the prince. She didn’t deliberately express anger; she merely spoke extremely coldly, “How long do you plan to keep me here? Why not just make it quick? Whether you want to kill me, torture me, or even assault me—if you have a taste for that.”
Chuyang's words were fierce, like a jar of homemade wine; in fact, that jar of wine was this very person.
Shangguan Wangyu truly disliked Chuyang's attitude because it indicated her deep-seated aversion towards him. Showing anger would be far more comforting to him than this blatant disdain.
Isn’t this place good enough? Shangguan Wangyu asked himself.
“Don’t you like it here?”
“Do you enjoy living in a cage carved into beautiful shapes?”
Thinking about these things made Shangguan Wangyu quite frustrated. He said earnestly, “This is your home.”
Chuyang shook her head vigorously, her voice raised in agitation. “My home is on Earth, not here!”
Just then, hurried footsteps sounded from outside, followed by shouts from a crowd.
Someone knocked and entered, their voice trembling slightly as they said, “Prince, there are intruders!”
Shangguan Wangyu fell silent for a moment before asking Chuyang, "Did your family come to rescue you?"
Chuyang was taken aback by the question. She had always believed that her father, along with Liu Xing and her family, would surely come to save her. However, after witnessing Huankezhao's strength, doubts began to creep in. She didn't want her father to get involved because of her.
"If you dare to harm my family, I will kill myself right in front of you."
Chuyang knew that Shangguan Wangyu cared deeply for her, so she threatened him with her own life.
After a long pause, Shangguan Wangyu waved his hand, signaling the people behind him to leave. He didn't want to deal with this.
"What if I decide to kill them? What gives them the right to be your family for all these years? You only have one true family member, and that's me! It's me!"
After Shangguan Wangyu finished speaking, the door behind him closed only to swing open again.
"Didn't I tell you to get lost?"
Shangguan Wangyu's emotions flared with anger as he shouted.
Yet, there was no response from behind.
He noticed Chuyang's suddenly tear-filled eyes and her soft gaze, and in that instant, he understood something.
And so he felt envy, jealousy, and hatred.
A sharp blade appeared at Shangguan Wangyu's neck, followed by the chaotic sound of footsteps behind him.
Dozens of guns appeared behind Jufeng.
"Prince, we meet again."
The calm voice of Jufeng reached Shangguan Wangyu's ears.
Shangguan Wangyu felt no fear; his eyes were filled with anger.
"I truly regret it. From the first time we met, I should have put an end to this boring reunion. I'm sorry for letting you live for so many years."
Hearing the hatred emanating from Shangguan Wangyu's clenched teeth, Jufeng couldn't help but laugh.
His gaze shifted past Shangguan Wangyu and landed on Chuyang, his expression softening.
" Chuyang, they haven't bullied you, have they?"
Chuyang pressed her lips tightly together, holding back her tears, and then nodded heavily.
This was to prevent Jufeng from worrying.
To Shangguan Wangyu's ears, this only fueled his anger further.
"I have a question, Your Highness. Since Chuyang is the person you are looking for, why didn't you take action when I brought her here for the first time?"
Jufeng certainly believed that his information had been laid out on Shangguan Wangyu's table at that time.
At that moment, Chuyang was filled with anger, thinking about why no one had ever told him that because of that cursed thing, both his age and body would undergo such drastic changes.
"What does it matter to know all this? Since you are here, you should be prepared to face death. Do you really think I, Huankezhao, can just come and go so easily?"
Zhan Xingzi had also said similar things before. Huankezhao was the Dragon's Den, and Jufeng was alone; there was truly no way to rescue Chuyang.
Behind Jufeng, those cold guns were aimed directly at him. He knew that if he moved even slightly, he could easily be turned into a sieve.
However, in Jufeng's dictionary, there was no case of giving up without trying once.
" Chuyang, come with me."
