As the sound of footsteps drew closer, a figure appeared before the crowd. Behind this figure were several fierce-looking men, causing Jufeng's smile to deepen.
"Long time no see," Ikeda Kenji said with a grin as he approached.
Jufeng stepped forward and embraced Ikeda Kenji in a bear hug. It had only been two years, but it felt much longer due to the monotony of those years.
During that time, Romain had been studying military law while Ikeda had been training his Fleet.
Now, after two years, a remarkable and powerful army had emerged.
"I really miss you!"
Romain's response sounded somewhat colloquial, yet it reflected the deep bond between them.
As they parted, Ikeda Kenji still exuded an aura of righteousness, making anyone who had done wrong feel ashamed and tremble in his presence.
With a calm and friendly smile, Ikeda teased, "I think Feng Shao misses your Fleet."
At this remark, Romain smiled back, keenly noting the use of "you," which sent a warm surge through him, invigorating his spirit.
"This credit will always belong to you."
Romain was not one to take credit for someone else's hard work, so he held no envy towards Ikeda Kenji's army.
Two people were exchanging pleasantries, while behind them, Tong Bai Long Chang Guo Hong and Gou Hongbo were also present, with Jufeng greeting several individuals one by one.
The so-called small talk was not without sincerity; for Jufeng and his companions, their feelings were genuinely heartfelt.
After a few moments, two more figures emerged, perhaps having heard the commotion at the entrance, their steps quickening slightly.
Jufeng watched as two graceful silhouettes appeared before him—Zhu Yao and Flower Snow Moon.
After two years, the two had hardly changed at all from their former selves. Zhu Yao, due to her martial arts training, had a physique that was exceptionally toned. As for Flower Snow Moon, her beauty radiated from within, making her entire presence enchanting.
With remarkably similar long braids and comparable heights, the two resembled sisters even more closely.
Perhaps due to the close bond they had developed over the years, their emotions had deepened and matured with time.
"There's a surprise waiting inside; come take a look!"
Before Jufeng could greet them, Flower Snow Moon spoke up first. Zhu Yao stepped aside to let them pass, her expression remaining as calm and unchanging as ever.
Jufeng furrowed his brow and turned to Five and Politeness, only to be met with their innocent expressions.
He then looked at Ikeda Kenji, whose serene smile revealed no hints of anything amiss.
Jufeng felt perplexed; he wondered what kind of joke these friends from Earth were playing on him by keeping such a big secret.
Stepping further inside, he entered another hall where three people stood side by side.
With a tall and graceful figure, Jufeng felt an overwhelming urge to cry as he saw two people before him.
“Dad,” called out Yin Mo, standing in the middle, with a warm and somewhat excited tone.
“Hmm!” Jufeng replied kindly.
Suddenly letting go of the soft hands of the two, Yin Mo dashed towards Jufeng. Perhaps due to the urgency of the moment, she used her martial arts skills, moving with incredible speed.
Jufeng crouched down, watching as Yin Mo swooped into his arms like a swallow, filling him with immense happiness.
It was true happiness.
Claudia and Ikeda Masahiro followed Yin Mo's lead, observing the father and daughter embrace each other, smiling as they walked gracefully towards Jufeng.
Their bond had been tempered through countless trials, so they would not weep for joy. The emotions from the past and future would seep into their very bones, gradually eroding their hearts rather than erupting like a volcano.
“You’ve worked hard,” Jufeng said sincerely as he looked at the two lovely individuals.
This statement was both a thank you for their care of Yin Mo and a deep expression of guilt from Jufeng's heart.
The two shook their heads. “It’s nothing,” Claudia said.
Ikeda Masahiro smiled and added, “As long as the wind doesn’t take us away again.”
Jufeng gritted his teeth and nodded heavily, saying, "Alright. From now on, we won't be apart."
The joy of their reunion was fleeting, as they had important matters to attend to. A man must sacrifice certain things in the face of duty. For many, holding a position of power might be a luxury; however, for Jufeng, having a warm home with his wife and children was the dream of a lifetime.
After their meeting, the group left the planet and began their journey through space. According to Jufeng's plan, they needed to pursue Cao Ke and his crew, who were still within the Magellan Star System. This was not only for revenge to restore morale and military prestige but also an unprecedented opportunity to eliminate Cao Ke.
In the Battleship Command Room, Jufeng listened to Ikeda Kenji's report on his fleet of battleships, his smile radiant.
"I believe in you, Ikeda Brother. With this, our fleet will be strong enough to rival the First Army."
In the past, Ikeda Kenji might not have understood the significance of that statement. However, after two years of studying military affairs, he had gained a comprehensive understanding of the strengths within the Cosmos.
"That statement is somewhat hasty. After all, this fleet hasn't been tested in many battles and lacks experience compared to the First Army. Although I've gathered elite forces from various nations, cohesion and teamwork are still issues that need to be addressed during combat."
This fleet was composed of nearly all the elite battleships from Earth, making it immensely powerful. Yet as Ikeda Kenji pointed out, a hastily assembled army would struggle to match the capabilities of the Dragon Head Army in such a short time.
Even though Ikeda Kenji had been working on their integration for two years.
"Don't worry, Ikeda Brother. Battleships differ from individual mechs; their coordination is relatively less complex. Besides, I know you prefer caution. In fact, they are performing even better than you anticipated."
Inside the command room, nearly all the elites were present; even Yin Mo had been summoned by Claudia and Ikeda Masahiro to attend as an observer.
Ikeda Kenji decided not to continue discussing this matter with Jufeng. He turned back and opened the star map, transforming the entire command room into a representation of outer space.
It displayed a complete star map of the Magellan Star System.
"Where do you think Cao Ke will go? I have investigated the situation at the border, and the areas with the weakest defenses are these two. One of them is too remote, and the travel time is too long, which could lead to many unforeseen events. I don't think that General Cao would choose that option."
After ruling out all other possibilities, Ikeda Kenji was left with just one point on the star map, which he believed was the most likely location for Cao Ke to leave the Magellan Star System.
Everyone listened to Ikeda Kenji's analysis and couldn't help but nod in agreement. Being alone in the Magellan Star System, he would likely want to return quickly.
However, Jufeng's response surprised everyone.
"I think he wouldn't be in a hurry to go back."
