Shangguan Wangyu spent most of his adult life in this office, either sitting or standing, feeling joy or sorrow.
Tony remained behind Shangguan Wangyu, hands clasped behind his back, as he had for decades.
"Your Highness, they have already begun to act. The hall is in chaos. Should we take any measures?"
Shangguan Wangyu's Huankezhao had faced only a handful of invasions since the setting of the sun on that fateful day. Therefore, working as security at Huankezhao was considered the safest job. However, after Huankezhao instigated unrest against the United Nations and the name Jufeng gradually surfaced and caught up with Shangguan Wangyu in the cosmos, this rule was shattered.
In those few invasions, Jufeng's name frequently appeared, and now it was happening again.
Seemingly accustomed to it, or perhaps indifferent, Shangguan Wangyu replied quietly, "Cao Ke will handle it. How is Microbirth?"
Upon hearing the mention of Microbirth, Tony responded with even more caution.
"She is unaware of the situation outside and should be in her room for now..."
Microbirth's room had no surveillance, a stipulation that Shangguan Wangyu insisted upon, so they had no way of knowing what was happening inside. Tony initially thought she would mostly be staying in her room but suddenly realized how dangerous that statement was and swallowed the unfinished thought.
Shangguan Wangyu slowly stood up; perhaps now, only Microbirth could stir his emotions.
"This matter should be brought to her attention; we shouldn't keep it from her. After that incident, I do not wish to deceive her in any way. Bring her here."
The situation in the hall was chaotic. Three people had recklessly barged in to confront dozens of security personnel—a task that seemed hopeless under normal circumstances. However, the situation here was quite different.
Firstly, there were too many innocent people panicking and fleeing; Huankezhao could not simply open fire on them, even though their security forces had such authority outside their ranks.
The three individuals here were anything but simple. Civilization and Wu both possessed exceptional marksmanship, almost as if they were not of this world. Jufeng and Wu's martial arts were extraordinary; with a casual wave of their hands, they could eliminate enemies in an instant.
Thus, this was fundamentally a battle of asymmetric resources—unequal numbers and unequal strength.
Jufeng and the others had barged into Huankezhao, naturally to create opportunities for those upstairs to assist Liu Xing. By drawing most of the guards and security forces toward themselves, the situation upstairs became significantly easier.
In fact, that was indeed the case.
Liu Xing, accompanied by several elite members, quickly navigated through the winding paths to the area where Chuyang was being held.
Despite Liu Xing's continuous searches during this time, they had been unable to access this area. Now that the security forces had been dealt with, they still needed to search each room one by one.
Time was not on their side; they couldn't afford to waste too much of it. As seconds ticked away, many guests were disturbed—some were in the shower, while others were tangled up in bed—caught off guard by the sudden intrusion.
However, none of this was the most critical issue; the most pressing concern was that Chuyang had still not been found.
Liu Xing was anxious. He had initially thought he would soon be reunited with Chuyang, but disappointment loomed instead.
Just as despair washed over him like a tide, an unexpected figure appeared.
The leader, Politeness, did not recognize the young man, but Chen Tan Hua beside him was all too familiar with him.
"Hey, isn't that Longshu Master? Oh wait, now he's with the Suihuan Army; he must have been promoted to general by now."
Hearing Chen Tan Hua's introduction, Politeness's gaze gradually turned cold. Perhaps before the events surrounding Magellan Star, few knew of Longshu's reputation. But now, for those in the Magellan Star System and the United Nations, the name Longshu was indelibly etched in their minds.
Politeness stepped forward, never one to miss an opportunity to verbally attack an enemy. "Do you enjoy being someone else's pawn?" he asked.
Longshu recognized Chen Tan Hua, knowing he was one of Jufeng's closest associates. However, from their current positions, it was clear that Politeness had more authority in this conversation, which caught him off guard.
His thoughts drifted to those who had captured Xiao Ji, and he felt a jolt of shock within.
"I don't understand what you mean. Everyone has their own ambitions; mine lies with the Suihuan Army. I don't see how I've become a pawn for anyone else," Longshu replied.
There was a noticeable lack of confidence in Longshu's words. Politeness keenly sensed this subtle shift and couldn't help but scoff. "How foolish. Have you ever considered—hypothetically speaking—that if the Suihuan Army were to unify the Star Domain, would those from the Magellan Star System accept you? When the time comes, will Shangguan Wangyu still value you as an Azure Level upper-tier?"
Upon hearing Politeness's words, Longshu's expression darkened immediately. He had indeed thought about such things; after all, he had become a spy to rise to Master within the First Army and had always faced exclusion. If he hadn't chosen to ally with the Suihuan Army, he would have never stood out in his life.
But he was still young, with plenty of time ahead to fight for his future. He didn't want to sink into despair just because he couldn't advance within the system, which fueled his hatred for Pand Zhong and extended to his feelings toward the United Nations.
In this world, there was no absolute right or wrong—only choices.
Politeness observed Longshu's fluctuating expression and realized that given their fruitless search thus far, tonight’s events must have raised suspicions on Longshu's part. Not wanting to waste any more time, he signaled Liu Xing behind him and transformed into a whirlwind, charging into the ranks of Longshu's Guard Team.
"Don't worry; you won't live long enough to be pointed at by thousands and left to rot in the wilderness. I'll end this tonight for you—consider it a favor; no need to thank me."
As soon as Politeness finished speaking, he stood before Longshu and his group while Chen Tan Hua and others quickly sought cover or blended into the crowd to prepare for action.
Longshu's skills were quite impressive. When Politeness charged at him, he quickly stepped back, but still found himself caught in the chaos, though it inadvertently pushed him into a safe spot among the crowd.
Politeness's sudden movement made the Guard Team realize what was happening, and they began to unleash a barrage of bullets.
Seeing that his first attack had failed, Politeness immediately turned to evade and then pounced on a soldier from another direction. Using the soldier as cover, he continued to shoot and dodge.
Chen Tan Hua, Tian Feng Zhu Yao, and several others with good skills made similar choices as Politeness. The scene quickly descended into chaos.
However, Liu Xing vanished without a trace in an instant.
Meanwhile, the scene downstairs was equally spectacular, especially after Cao Ke made his appearance.
