Memories of the past will eventually scatter with the flow of time. This is a rule that has settled over the years, one that never changes and never disappoints.
Jufeng enjoyed this relaxed atmosphere; all the labor, worries, unhappiness, concerns, and mental fatigue could vanish in an instant.
With thoughts finally expressed, there was a sense of relief!
In the distance, on the high mountain, Shangguan Wangyu remained still, for reasons unknown. One thing was certain: he was definitely not resting.
It wasn't until Jufeng made a promise to Chuyang that Shangguan Wangyu's voice echoed within the Dual Mech, lifting the veil of mystery.
"You speak so well. But why, why am I the one left out of your conversation?"
Suddenly hearing Shangguan Wangyu's voice startled both Jufeng and Chuyang. They quickly checked their communications, confirming everything was functioning properly, which only heightened their surprise.
Shangguan Wangyu's clear laughter resonated within the mech. "Curious, aren't you? But there's no need to be. After all, while Jiang Xue is impressive, when it comes to depth, Huankezhao remains unrivaled. It's not surprising that I've developed something capable of eavesdropping on your conversations."
Jufeng's astonishment didn't ease with Shangguan Wangyu's explanation. However, upon reflection, if such technology could be applied to Battleships, then they wouldn't have fallen into the traps set by Ikeda Kenji and Pan An. Thus, his worries seemed unnecessary.
After a pause, Shangguan Wangyu continued, "It's just a pity that I shouldn't have heard this."
The last statement from Shangguan Wangyu was filled with mixed emotions.
Chuyang realized that without opening communication, the latter could still hear him. He directly said, "Shangguan, surrender. You know my father's experiment succeeded; if I want to, you will lose right now."
Hearing Chuyang's words reminded Jufeng of the results Old Horse had uncovered during the investigation in the Large Magellanic Cloud. He became convinced of Chuyang's assertion. Chuyang's previous extraordinary abilities regarding metallic mediums and computer networks were not fabricated but very real.
If that were the case, then Shangguan Wangyu would undoubtedly lose.
But how could Shangguan Wangyu accept that?
"Put away your sympathy. I, Shangguan Wangyu, prince of Huankezhao, will never accept your pity even if I die in battle. I know you have abilities, but the flaw of human chips lies in medium issues. Now that you're inside a mech, what can you really do? Do you think you can control it solely with your mind without using your hands? In that case, you're slightly better than an ordinary person but still far behind me."
"I just need to keep you at a distance, and you will remain helpless. Let's try a ranged duel and see if I can actually die."
Shangguan Wangyu picked up a large stone the size of a head from the mountainside with his left hand, then tossed it into the air. The Metal Knife in his hand transformed into the flame-less Wolf Fang Club.
At that moment, the Wolf Fang Club morphed into a baseball bat, and the stone became a baseball. Baseball had always been a noble sport that Shangguan Wangyu loved and excelled at. Just like in the business world and the mech realm, he either did not engage or strived for perfection.
For some reason, as night deepened, it became even brighter. Snow began to fall from the sky, with flakes drifting down in large clusters.
Unlike the snow on Earth, the snowflakes here resembled flowers, each one about the size of a fist. When they landed on him, they didn't hurt but carried some weight.
Branches snapped under the pressure without needing an entire night to do so, and soon the sounds of breaking branches echoed through the night sky.
The baseball bat struck the baseball, sending it flying through the snowy curtain of night, cutting a horizontal line through the air. Due to its speed, it seemed as if all the falling snow paused for a moment.
The baseball raced toward Jufeng's front.
Jufeng did not react; it was Chuyang who responded.
Calmly, she removed her hands from the mech's control panel and grasped a nearby stabilizing handrail to steady herself.
Then, the mech's hands gripped a metal sword and slashed downward in mid-air.
Time seemed to freeze in that instant due to the curtain of snow hanging in the air.
However, moments later, both mechs sprang into action.
The transition from stillness to rapid movement was astonishing.
Chuyang relied solely on her mental command to direct her mech swiftly toward the prince. The mech flew rapidly through the snowy atmosphere, appearing exceptionally beautiful.
Shangguan Wangyu had already moved when the metal sword sliced through the stone; he was in swift motion, his trajectory and form remarkably stable. He did not forget to continue firing at Jufeng.
The shell exploded in the night sky, blooming and gliding; it was particularly beautiful due to the snow.
However, Chuyang maneuvered the mech with her mind, seemingly able to predict the trajectory of Shangguan Wangyu's shell, effortlessly dodging what appeared to be dangerous but was actually quite safe.
When Shangguan Wangyu took flight, he realized his mistake. Although he maintained a confident front, he never imagined that Chuyang would regain her memories at such a critical moment.
He thought she would never return to her former self.
In truth, it was thanks to him; if it weren't for the shock of Liu Xing's injury, she wouldn't have recalled so quickly and so suddenly.
That night, she was alone in her room at Near Earth Star, unable to sleep, tears streaming down endlessly.
But now that it had begun, Shangguan Wangyu would not retreat. He was Shangguan Wangyu, the rightful prince and a leader in every field he touched.
Moreover, facing Chuyang, how could he give up?
The mech flew through the night sky; it would fly as far as it could.
Years later at Hero Star, it began to snow.
Snowflakes the size of fists piled up on the ground, soon covering everything in a layer of pure white.
Many wrecks of mechs lay hidden beneath this beautiful and sacred blanket of white.
The air grew colder; the mech's energy consumption was already low and became even harder to maintain in such frigid conditions.
More and more mechs began to move sluggishly, while others stood completely still.
At times, the scene would freeze in an eerie moment, captured in a comical dimension.
You strike me, I strike you; yet neither managed to hit the other, both frozen by the falling snowflakes.
Shangguan Wangyu flew through the night sky and finally found Cao Ke, only to have Jufeng appear before him as well.
A few more people had gathered, and they had moved to a different mountaintop, where the scene came to a halt once again.
Everyone was exhausted, and the edges of the snowflakes seemed to have turned white.
It was not snow; it was dawn.
Dawn was approaching.
However, the battle had already dwindled.
