"Go! Hurry up! You must go back and avenge me and Gunner!" Old Ghost's lips gradually bled, his figure slowly twisting. Yet he still exerted all his strength to maintain Light Fist's body. 0

Light Fist's body had absorbed too much Vital Energy, becoming nearly transparent. If it weren't for Old Ghost persistently using his own abilities to sustain him, he would have likely vanished into thin air by now. 0

However, Old Ghost could not hold on much longer. Blood trickled from the corners of his mouth, and the most severe sight was the blood pooling on the ground, gushing like a spring. 0

The archer ceased his attack, and Zheng Yifan retreated, while everyone dispersed to prevent Old Ghost from launching a final counterattack in his dying moments. 0

"You must escape! You have to!" Old Ghost struggled at the edge of death, his voice hoarse and choked. His figure became increasingly distinct as a shadow slowly spread out from Light Fist's silhouette. From that shadow, a black line twisted out, gradually expanding until it revealed a hunched figure—Old Ghost. But he was now completely different from before; his body resembled that of dried bones, almost devoid of blood, sustained only by sheer willpower and the strength of a Superpowered Individual. All his power was given to Light Fist, maintaining Light Fist's form from dissipating. 0

Light Fist's body began to recover slowly, reshaping from what looked like a melting candle back into human form. 0

"Drip!" A speck of impurity fell into the water puddle on the ground. Instantly, the capsule melted into tiny droplets of light green liquid, dyeing the puddle green. The moss within began to grow wildly, rapidly spreading throughout the entire puddle. 0

"It's the Zombie virus!" Zheng Yifan stared intently at the puddle. 0

Light Fist seemed to sense something and looked down. 0

At that moment, Old Ghost managed a sorrowful smile. From the wound on his chest, the last few drops of blood flowed—deep green in color. 0

He released Light Fist then laughed bitterly, then heartily, until it turned into maniacal laughter. 0

Vital Energy surged around him, barely sustaining his life. 0

"Haha! Light Fist, we were set up by those government bastards! And you even brought Gunner along to fulfill the mission. What’s the result now? Hahahaha!" Old Ghost forcefully dragged his hands across Light Fist's body, countless shadows bursting forth from him—his entire life force and all his Superpower. Then he pulled out a dagger from his pocket. 0

It was a dagger made entirely of transparent material, resembling a piece of ice. 0

He waved the dagger at Zheng Yifan before plunging it deep into his throat, severing his neck in an instant. 0

He could not help but do so. Behind him, a Scorpion Tail was slowly emerging, the energy within his body seemed to be boiling and evolving, cells rapidly dividing, and his brain's development accelerating quickly, rising from 1% to 5%, then to 10%, and swiftly increasing until it reached 100%, then back down to 10%... his brain was completely mutated. 0

If Old Ghost's neck had not been severed at that moment, he would have transformed into a Second-Level Zombie. Unfortunately, he no longer had that opportunity; he had cut his own throat just to leave behind a complete corpse. 0

Slowly, Old Ghost's body turned into a pool of green liquid. At his neck, the Zombie Crystal had not fully formed before it vanished. 0

He wanted to experience what it was like to become a Zombie, but he no longer had the chance. Never again. 0

"No!" Light Fist cried out in despair! Old Ghost was his brother whom he had known since the Post-Apocalypse. They had fought together, endured the early days of the apocalypse together, and even met their older brother during an accident. 0

From that point on, they were practically inseparable, struggling through this post-apocalyptic world together, using various means to become Superpowered Individuals. The hardships they faced were countless and too bitter to share with outsiders. 0

Now, Old Ghost had returned to dust. Gunner had also fallen here, and the Superpower within him was slowly dissipating. He could no longer gather even a trace of Superpower. From now on, he would be removed from the ranks of Superpowered Individuals; that once arrogant older brother would never protect him again because he was no longer useful. He had lost his value and could very well end up being a liability, potentially leading to his own demise at the hands of the Ice King Squad while avenging Old Ghost's death. 0

He should have died, perishing under his own reckless explosion of power. Unfortunately, he was still alive; those who lived often suffered more. 0

He finally understood this feeling. Old Hou had timed it perfectly and stood behind Light Fist; without his consent, Light Fist would not die. 0

Moreover, Light Fist no longer possessed the powers of a Superpowered Individual. He had overexerted himself and had become completely incapacitated. His body was sustained by Old Ghost using all his strength to support him, even expending all his Superpower at the cost of his own life. If Old Ghost had wanted to escape, no one could have stopped him; even the highest-level Zombie could not harm an incorporeal body. At that time, he was invincible—nothingness itself. 0

And for Light Fist's sake, he willingly sacrificed his life to carve out a path for his brother to survive, at least giving him a better chance at life. 0

Light Fist's body was now calm; at this moment, he was just a weak ordinary person. 0

Or perhaps not even an ordinary person; he might only have a few months left to live due to the aftereffects of pushing his energy beyond its limits which caused his cells to collapse. Those last few months were precious—earned with Old Ghost's life. 0

"Perhaps! You should cooperate with us; that way, you will suffer much less," Old Hou said as he dragged Light Fist away from the crowd like a dead dog. Light Fist seemed to have lost his soul, allowing Old Hou to pull him along. 0

Zheng Yifan couldn't interject or speak up. In the Gathering Place, he needed to maintain a reputation of integrity so that the ordinary citizens would feel secure. Such dark matters were naturally handled well by Old Hou. 0

"All soldiers who died in battle will receive double compensation. Their families and relatives will receive a basic monthly allowance of one pound of fine grain until their direct relatives pass away. As for those two bodies... make sure they are buried properly," Zheng Yifan announced loudly. 0

The compensation was raised from the planned 100 pounds per month to one pound per month; this was the only thing he could do for the fallen soldiers. 0

The other soldiers collected the bodies, forming several ten-man teams to comfort the citizens and restore order. 0

A major assassination conspiracy had dissipated without a trace, ending before it even began. 0

After the battle, rewards would naturally be distributed according to merit, and this had already become a regulation that didn't require Zheng Yifan to worry about. His main concern now was the matter of Essence. 0

The shock brought by the Ice King Squad's Superpowered Individual was immense. He had thought himself to be the top expert among humans, having gained such extraordinary power through Barrier Protection. 0

Now it seemed there were always others out there; he had merely been sitting in a well. Light Fist, merely Ice King's useless brother, possessed such high combat capability, while Old Ghost was killing without a trace. 0

Through his observations, he discovered that Old Ghost was not becoming void; that was merely a ruse. He hid in the shadows, while his outer body was just an illusion. When it came time to attack, he would extend his physical form from the shadows and strike at his enemies. 0

The best opportunity to eliminate him would be at the moment he intended to attack. 0

Such talent was exactly what Zheng Yifan had always desired—one of the best scouts in the world, hidden in plain sight and able to appear at any moment. While concealed, he was intangible and immune to harm. If it weren't for Zheng Yifan's timely intervention that pierced through Old Ghost's Heart with a gentle touch, using all his strength to save Light Fist, Zheng Yifan might have been helpless against him. 0

Moreover, the Gunner's skill sent chills down his spine; his head still felt cold from it. Blood had already matted his hair into a tangled mess, and soon he would have to shave it all off and wrap it with bandages for gradual healing. 0

With the capabilities of the Super Soldier Serum, recovery was certain. 0

However, to prevent the healing process from getting tangled in his hair and causing infection, he had no choice but to change his hairstyle. 0

That wound was the best proof of Gunner's formidable sniping ability. Even though Zheng Yifan had taken precautions, he still fell victim to it. If he had prepared better and hidden away for a sudden ambush, even ten Zheng Yifans wouldn't have been able to withstand such an assassination. 0

As for Light Fist, there was even less need to elaborate. His Superpower strength was undoubtedly formidable. If he evolved a few more levels and enhanced his Superpower strength, creating an offensive style suited to him, defeating Zheng Yifan would be as easy as child's play. The most terrifying aspect was his combat potential; if that wild attack could unleash his Superpower strength at speeds comparable to a Submachine Gun, combined with extraordinary attack power, even Three to Four Level Zombies would likely perish under his chaotic punches. 0

At present, it was merely a collaboration between Old Ghost and Light Fist, with Gunner only firing two shots. In the crowd, it wasn't the place for him to unleash his lethality. 0

Old Ghost was best suited for assassination rather than charging head-on into battle; only Light Fist truly possessed close-combat capabilities. 0

Such a combination could easily take down all members of the Firestorm Team without sustaining any injuries. No one in the entire Gathering Place could stand against them. 0

This was simply too powerful—so powerful it defied reason! 0

From this small glimpse, one could foresee what kind of person the leader of the Ice King Squad would be. With all members of the Ice King Squad mobilized for combat, they were far beyond what the Hope Gathering Place could withstand. 0

If they wanted to resist them, they would need to develop their own Superpower team and form a legion composed of Superpowered Individuals. 0

In the future, if they wished to protect their foundation and even expand, they must develop a Superpower team or even a Superpower legion. 0
