"Why bother showing off? Haven't I treated you well? I've let you hang around here, eating and drinking without kicking you out. Now that you've grown some wings, you dare to threaten me?" The bartender glared fiercely at the ghost lying on the ground.
The dazzling light that had just erupted was almost blinding, but once it faded, nothing remained.
It seemed as if everyone knew about his Superpower, filled with mockery.
"It seems like the Superpower was overused; he should recover after a bit of rest," Zheng Yifan said as he crouched down to look at the fainted child. He then turned to glance at the bartender and the strange-looking Fellow with an unknown Superpower across from him.
There might be two people, or perhaps just one; Zheng Yifan could sense that both bodies were indeed real.
"Captain, let me give it a try," Wu Yingzhou said. Having achieved nothing under Zheng Yifan's command, now was his moment to shine. Li Ning even stood by Zheng Yifan's side with his hands behind his back.
Tian Ye's face flushed red as he lowered his head in silence. He had already confessed to Zheng Yifan that his Superpower was ineffective, and there was no point in complaining. He could only hope that, as the leader had said, his Superpower would become powerful in the future.
Wu Yingzhou stepped forward slightly, striking the starting pose of Bajiquan. At that moment, Zheng Yifan felt the gathering of Vital Energy, seemingly fluctuating unpredictably.
"Kid, stop pretending to be a martial arts master here. In this apocalypse, those tricks are useless; Superpowers are what truly matter," the bartender laughed loudly.
Two identical figures behind him slowly approached, looking at Wu Yingzhou with a mix of amusement and disbelief.
The mocking voices around grew louder, and soon a crowd surged forward.
They didn’t care about any decorum; their only goal was to swiftly eliminate the enemy and deal with the central figure to claim a hefty reward.
Wu Yingzhou remained calm and composed, unaffected by the chaos. Just as figures were almost upon him, he suddenly stepped forward into their midst. Among the crowd, he moved with purpose—striking, thrusting, hitting, pushing, poking—all executed seamlessly as if multiple people were attacking at once. Each move flowed naturally; he swayed and knocked down opponents while stomping his feet with enough force to shake the ground. His techniques were executed to perfection.
With each swing of his arms carrying immense weight, this was not a performance typical of a Post-Apocalypse scenario; killing enemies took precedence. There was no holding back—each strike was lethal. Every move drew power from his heels and flowed through his waist to his fingertips, showcasing human limits pushed to their extremes. This was the pinnacle of physical power; given human anatomy, there was no further enhancement possible.
Wu Yingzhou's disciples had all served as close bodyguards for central leaders; moreover, he himself had undergone decades of training. Although his skills remained sharp, his body was no longer in its prime youth.
As they say, youth fears the fists of age fears the cunning wolf—this is simply how it is. As one ages, their lethality gradually diminishes.
Now, his physical condition had reached its peak, and the functions of his organs radiated with the most dazzling vitality.
He had even defeated everyone without using his Superpower; his immense destructive force was laid bare in an instant. At the height of his excitement, he had even unleashed the Half-Step Collapse Fist.
In the narrow space, he unleashed a tremendous punch, leaving no chance for survival to those caught in its path.
The fierce melee allowed Wu Yingzhou to fight with great satisfaction, leaving the three spectators dumbfounded. The most astonished among them was Zheng Yifan, who had inherited Lin Chong and In Calamity's Shooting Skill. Although he had also studied close combat, he had to admit that if it came down to pure fighting skills, he could not compare to Wu Yingzhou. Each move and technique embodied the essence of countless generations of martial arts, and many extraordinary individuals had dedicated their lives to perfecting just one of those techniques.
"Awesome! I've never felt this good in my life! In the Post-Apocalypse, I had to follow the law and didn’t dare to strike out. Even after the end of the world, I struggled to survive without daring to act. Today, all my pent-up frustrations are finally unleashed; it truly feels exhilarating!" Wu Yingzhou roared loudly, laughing as if he wanted to roar out all the depression he had endured over the years.
"Kid, don’t be so arrogant. Just because you’ve gained a bit of Superpower doesn’t mean you can act recklessly; there will be consequences. A mere First-Level Esper is only at a mid-tier level among all Gathering Places. What gives you the right to be so cocky?" Two identical figures slowly advanced from across him, moving in unison with identical postures and strides.
With each step they took forward, Wu Yingzhou felt an increasing pressure. He knew that the two men before him were at least Superpowered Individuals. Although they might just be ordinary people in this Post-Apocalypse world, fortune could smile upon anyone at any time; it was undeniable.
"Captain, let me give it a try." Wu Yingzhou maintained his relaxed stance while preparing himself, feeling his heartbeat gradually quicken.
Suddenly, both figures vanished from Wu Yingzhou's sight at once. A sharp gust of air seemed ready to slice through his body.
Bang! A crisp sound echoed as Wu Yingzhou's body trembled slightly; he leaned back forcefully against something.
This move was considered the essence of Bajiquan, known as Iron Mountain Lean. Its power was immense; when one leaned against a wall initially, then against a stake as they grew stronger, ultimately they would lean against a tree until they knocked down all the trees their master had arranged for them before they could consider themselves trained.
The force of leaning was the cumulative effect of all one's strength layered together.
Thus, Wu Yingzhou's lean was a culmination of a lifetime spent mastering Bajiquan.
The sound was sharp, accompanied by the sound of bones breaking, followed by waves of layered power that crushed everything in its path.
Puff! In mid-air, one figure gradually disintegrated into pieces that fell to the ground. Then another figure appeared before Wu Yingzhou, rushing forward with wild attacks that forced him to retreat while occasionally countering with powerful strikes to disrupt his rhythm.
In the distance, the scattered flesh on the ground seemed to possess a will of its own, slowly merging back together until it returned to its original form.
"No matter how much your Superpower enhances your martial arts, refuse is refuse; it can never replace Superpower. The future belongs to Superpower." The man's attacks grew more frenzied and erratic, his figure visible throughout the room, while another figure quickly joined the fray.
The two moved as one, launching attacks at Wu Yingzhou from angles he could not defend against, forcing him to evade.
Before long, he found himself at a disadvantage. Zheng Yifan frowned slightly; was Wu Yingzhou holding back his Superpower for the sake of pride?
From what Zheng Yifan knew, Wu Yingzhou's Dharma Manifestation could create a Vital Energy body. Controlling a Vital Energy body meant having two Wu Yingzhous at his disposal; the only difference was that he couldn't unleash the full power of both bodies simultaneously.
In the midst of their offense and defense, the two opponents seemed tireless, relentlessly attacking while Wu Yingzhou merely defended himself, calm and unhurried. Occasionally, he would deflect their defenses but never launched a lethal strike.
Several times he had opportunities where he could have exchanged an injury for his opponent's death, yet he still refrained from attacking, seemingly intent on wearing down their patience.
"It’s time to end this; we can’t let ourselves be trapped here by the Ice King Mercenary Corps," Zheng Yifan said as he stood up. Beside him, Li Ning readied his spear in anticipation.
In an instant, the atmosphere became tense. The two opponents were locked onto by Zheng Yifan and Li Ning's aura, their previous frenzy dissipating.
This momentary stillness provided Wu Yingzhou with an opportunity he would not let slip away.
Suddenly, a pure white figure appeared between the two opponents, grabbing their arms and forcefully pulling them together.
Wu Yingzhou surged forward, unleashing a torrential barrage of Palm Techniques that showcased his mastery of Bajiquan. Meanwhile, the Dharma Manifestation clung desperately to both opponents without any intricate movements—almost stiff in its execution.
In that instant, Zheng Yifan realized that Wu Yingzhou had just acquired his Dharma Manifestation and was unable to use it with agility.
This moment was perfectly timed; by using the rigid Dharma Manifestation to pull both enemies together, it allowed him to fully unleash his Fist Technique.
Amidst the storm of attacks, the two bodies were shaken repeatedly by each strike until they could barely move.
It was the Chaining Silk Technique and Shaking Technique of Bajiquan, meaning to shake the mountains and resolve all of the opponent's actions within the attack.
This was a method of strong offense, forced out as a last resort. He had never encountered such a shameless person, someone who could be shattered into pieces and still come back to life. The only option left was to gamble, to fix the two bodies together and then pound them into a pulp. If that still couldn't kill them, then Wu Yingzhou would have no choice but to retreat.
With each strike, he shattered nearly every muscle in the bodies of the two opponents. Then, at the last moment, a flash of inspiration struck him, and he unleashed the Half-Step Collapse Fist, causing the opposing manifestation to immediately loosen its grip.
Under the power of the Collapse Fist, their bodies collided with the manifestation in mid-air before being flung away a few centimeters off the ground.
Swiftly, the manifestation retreated while Wu Yingzhou stepped forward, his body rotating into the Pressing Mountain Lean.
“Bang!” A loud sound echoed as he struck towards the manifestation, which responded with another Pressing Mountain Lean.
The immense force even leaked outward; the manifestation completely drilled into the bodies of the two individuals, carrying them into the air. In an instant, their bodies seemed to be shattered by two Pressing Mountain Leans, with blood raining down slowly like a crimson shower.
“Captain, if he can come back to life again, I really have no way to deal with it!” Wu Yingzhou dragged his exhausted body towards Zheng Yifan's back as if it were about to fall apart. He silently recalled every moment of battle and every detail; this was what his master had taught him—to reflect on oneself after each fight. Over time, it had become a habit.
“Don't worry; he won't be able to come back this time,” Zheng Yifan said as he picked up the Child and moved ahead. Li Ning smiled and gave Wu Yingzhou a thumbs-up. Although Wu Yingzhou was over ten years older than him, after undergoing Essence refinement, their life forms were now comparable in age—both at their prime, with their physical functions restored to peak condition.
As they walked ahead, Tian Ye felt a twinge of reluctance in his heart. He could see that Wu Yingzhou's true strength lay in his Fist Technique rather than his Superpower; he primarily utilized the side effects brought by Superpower along with powerful Bajiquan techniques. But what about himself? All he had was that unreliable lightning Superpower, which had even turned into two AA batteries before he could send out any signals.
