With a single step, he suddenly felt a sensation of weightlessness, as if the forces of the world were swirling around his body, continuously applying pressure. The blood on the ground gradually merged with his body, inseparable and indistinguishable, creating a perfect fusion that felt like returning to his origins, as if it had always been this way.
As he moved forward again, the power within him integrated at an accelerating pace. It grew fiercer, an overwhelming force that was intoxicating. Memories surged from deep within him, images of Huangdi battling on the battlefield flashed before his eyes. Though it was just a fleeting moment, Zheng Yifan truly witnessed that brilliance—a stunning strike that carried the roar of thousands and the support of millions, cleaving through a mountain hundreds of meters high. The enemies before him suffered countless casualties.
This was merely a glimpse of the fierce battles fought by Huangdi, an Eighth Level powerhouse. The true number of battles was beyond counting. Each spectacular fight could be encapsulated in an instant.
Zheng Yifan fully felt that might and genuinely desired it; the power slowly surging within him was the cornerstone of future success.
An Overlord, that powerful Superpower would carry the beliefs of countless people into battle. Currently, there were hundreds of thousands residing in the Hope Gathering Place, and as they continued to absorb more people, even more would join him in their shared struggles.
More than two hours passed, and the Vital Energy in the real world gradually approached a halt. Different degrees of Zombie Virus outbreaks had occurred worldwide. In those initial moments, those who received the Vital Energy injection into their bodies continued to survive if they could withstand it. Those who could not would undergo mutations at the moment of injection and become Zombies, giving rise to the Zombie Virus alongside them.
Zheng Yifan also stepped into the Apocalyptic World, half-closing his eyes to savor the fragrant air of this new realm.
“Roar!” Before Zheng Yifan could react, two furious roars erupted nearby—those were the sounds of Zombies, reverberating so intensely that they nearly made him jump.
Within the Hope Gathering Place, aside from the Zombies trapped in the Mutated Plants in Hercules Building, there should be no other Zombies present; it was an absolute Safe Zone. No one was allowed to bring such repulsive creatures inside to cause chaos.
The appearance of Zombies around him now meant that they had already invaded the Ecological Sphere.
This was unscientific!
During its occupation by Zombies, no Zombies had been able to enter the Ecological Sphere. Moreover, it had completely stabilized this entire area between Ruiguan and Jiang.
Almost simultaneously with the attack, Zheng Yifan opened his eyes and faced a Zombie before him. He swung his Left-Handed Edman Alloy Shield at it while stepping back, remaining vigilant and alert to his surroundings.
Listening carefully to the slightest sound around him, he observed the number of Zombies in the entire room.
At a glance, he was utterly astonished.
This was definitely not the Hope Gathering Place, nor was it the Ecological Sphere. In the Ecological Sphere, the surroundings were lush with plants and the environment serene.
Now, however, the scene was filled with dust; scattered across the floor were documents with unreadable writing. The tables around him were lined with computers, and a few disordered chairs were mixed in with various papers strewn across the ground.
Everything was covered in dust, occasionally marked by a few footprints, and some sheets even bore traces of blood.
There were only about seven or eight Zombies. These Zombies had already begun to shrivel significantly, their strength making them seem like easy targets.
The Adamantium Shield spun lightly. With just a slight touch, it could crush a Zombie, as if dealing with children.
A second's time?
It didn't take that long at all. In the blink of an eye, they all perished.
Zheng Yifan's mind was operating at an accelerated speed, and his physical strength had slightly increased. The most significant change was his perception of Vital Energy; it was no longer like trying to grasp something through a foggy haze but felt as if it truly merged with him. He could control it at will. He finally understood the benefits of becoming a Superpowered Individual.
It was so evident that there was a stark difference between a true Superpowered Individual and his previous control over Vital Energy. Li Ning and the others clearly thought Zheng Yifan was just like them, which is why they underestimated him.
This was a delightful misunderstanding that everyone accepted.
Now Zheng Yifan fully understood what it meant to be a Superpowered Individual regarding Vital Energy and finally realized what his Superpower truly was. In the future, he wouldn't have Character Cards to rely on; all advancements would require his own comprehension, which demanded vast amounts of Vital Energy. The Time-Space Barrier couldn't forcibly elevate him to greater power; it would all depend on his own efforts.
This place marked both the end of where the Time-Space Barrier could assist him and a new beginning; his identity would completely transform.
From someone who could only gain benefits within the Time-Space Barrier, to now leading all of humanity to reclaim its glory and even annihilating the Chiyou Tribe, who were born from the First Energy Arrival.
These individuals were a disaster for humanity; their development belonged to Zombie Technology, completely utilizing the power of Zombies, fighting against the Yellow Emperor Tribe with destructive force.
Although they ultimately won the war, those warriors could never return to their homeland. They fought with their lives, experiencing only a moment of brilliance before being plunged into endless nightmares.
Some were even trapped within the bodies of Zombies, never to be reborn.
The First Energy Arrival originally had no Zombies but was believed to have created them.
With the Second Energy Arrival, the world was filled with Zombies. Humanity had to find a way to break through and create a new era; otherwise, they would be crushed to death by the Zombie Army.
"Activate Superpower, Superpower—Supreme Sovereign, capable of carrying a clan's Fortune, able to attack all tangible and intangible entities."
The sudden prompt made Zheng Yifan shudder. Supreme Sovereign was different from the Superpower inherited from Huangdi; the strength of Superpower had increased once again.
The Overlord merely carried a clan's Fortune into battle, while Supreme Sovereign could attack all tangible and intangible entities. Even those hidden in the void of air could be targeted.
Such power was truly devastating. It was akin to Zhou Rui, who concealed his body and transformed into mist. A single punch would surely leave him battered and bruised.
There were countless similar Superpowered Individuals who would now be firmly restrained by Zheng Yifan, becoming absolute nemeses.
The Overlord's original power was exceptionally formidable. Although it did not manifest as a powerful Superpower, the forces of Fortune behind him grew stronger as more people supported him.
However, Zheng Yifan currently found it impossible to gain any advantage in this regard. If he were within the Hope Gathering Place, he would naturally connect with the entire Fortune of that place.
Now, he had no idea how far he was from the Hope Gathering Place; there was not a shred of connection between them.
Only when Zheng Yifan truly accepted the power of Fortune would that power continue to follow him, until his followers died or ceased to support him.
There were many subtle applications he still needed to understand slowly.
For now, he only needed to know that he was no longer at Hope Gathering Place. Outside lay a bustling city, but in the Apocalyptic World, a city was synonymous with death. It was the lair of Zombies, and even a single Zombie in a city was not something Zheng Yifan could handle alone.
Upon closer inspection, the room was clearly an office of a magazine company. The walls even displayed photos taken by reporters from the Post-Apocalypse era.
He walked over and gently wiped one of the photos.
It was a set of pictures capturing a female celebrity in an embarrassing moment. The reporter's skills were quite impressive, revealing every flaw in the shots of the celebrity's mishap.
Even the moment she wasn't wearing underwear and her fleeting charm were captured with remarkable clarity.
Alongside these were numerous related photos and past news reports about this female star.
Clearly, this magazine was heavily promoting the scandals of a celebrity named Yao Xiaoxiao.
Zheng Yifan couldn't concern himself with that much. This celebrity had likely become a Zombie by now; no matter how beautiful she once was, she would now just be a grotesque shell of bones and skin.
The Apocalyptic World offered no sympathy, only brutal slaughter. Zheng Yifan's focus wasn't on this celebrity but rather on the equipment of the entire magazine office. All the equipment, including computers, was valuable to him. Each item was precious in his eyes.
He hadn't conquered a city yet; even the supplies from those villages and county towns couldn't compare to what a city held.
The Storage Space was convenient and practical. A row of supplies was collected into Zheng Yifan's Storage Space—everything from tables and chairs to electronic devices was included. Even if there were some snacks hoarded by female clerks from the Post-Apocalypse era, it didn't matter; he would store them for now and sort them out later when he had time and a suitable environment.
Like locusts sweeping through, he left no scraps behind, nearly clearing out everything of value before continuing down to the lower floors.
The building stood over forty stories tall, and from the windows, it seemed to be one of the tallest structures in the city.
Suppressing his sudden thirst for knowledge about being transported here, Zheng Yifan slowly explored every inch of the space. The further he descended, the more questions he had.
To his surprise, the number of Zombies was not increasing but rather decreasing. By the time he had cleared out all the offices on the thirty floors above, he had yet to encounter any powerful Zombies; only a few weak ones that he easily dispatched with a wave of his hand.
Where were the Second-Level Zombies? The Third-Stage Zombies?
As Zheng Yifan pondered these questions, he arrived at the third floor.
"Whoosh!" A sound of breathing caught his attention. Looking down, he saw that a large hole had been smashed through the floor, creating a direct passage to the first level. Below lay a strange Lizard sprawled on the ground, panting heavily. Waves of heat rolled off it, quickly raising the temperature in the room to over fifty degrees.
The stench emanating from its breath nearly suffocated Zheng Yifan; it was the unmistakable odor of Zombies, and its intensity was overwhelming, as if those Zombies had completely rotted in its mouth.
Leaning against the wall, Zheng Yifan almost lost his balance and fell.
Below him was the Lizard's nose and mouth. Everything around was eerily quiet; with such a two-meter-tall and eight-meter-long beast present, other Zombies had long learned to be cautious. Any foolish enough to approach had likely been devoured by the Lizard.
Zheng Yifan dared not provoke this creature; who knew how strong it truly was? This wasn't an online game where levels were displayed above one's head.
Just as he hesitated, he suddenly heard voices from outside.
"Hey! Zhang Wei, is it true that there are some Grain Companies below your newspaper's office with a Sample Warehouse here?" The silence of the building was abruptly broken by voices that showed no fear of waking the Giant Lizard.
"Shh! Keep it down. Although this Giant Lizard is hard of hearing, if we wake it up, we’ll be its next snack," Zhang Wei whispered sharply to silence his companions.
Following their gaze, Zheng Yifan could see these people cautiously making their way alongside the Giant Lizard's body towards its back. There stood a massive door with "Xinliang Industry" written in large letters above it.
No one knows what this Sample Warehouse is doing inside an office building, but they slowly approached the main door and began to pry it open with a crowbar.
The steel door was only slightly larger than an elevator door, and once pried open, it revealed a Freight Elevator below. Further down, there was another underground space that could be accessed via the Freight Elevator. A few of them placed the crowbar across the top and secured it with ropes, sliding down into the Freight Elevator.
Zheng Yifan changed angles several times to get a better view of what was happening inside the Freight Elevator.
To his surprise, there were Zombies down below, and their numbers seemed considerable, as all the Zombies had already entered the Freight Elevator. Through the semi-transparent walls of the Freight Elevator, he could see the Zombies reaching up with their Claws.
These individuals were well-prepared; they pulled out slender Steel Needles that were about one or two meters long and began to stab downward. Zheng Yifan had thought they were carrying some kind of weapon, but he never expected them to use such a method.
They opened a Vial above, releasing a faint scent of blood. It contained a drop of fresh blood; they had prepared this in a safe location.
In Zheng Yifan's eyes, these people were clearly playing an Online Game, exploiting bugs to eliminate those monsters.
It was astonishingly easy; human ingenuity was on full display here. However, if there were really Second-Level Zombies or even Third-Stage Zombies, it would definitely be challenging for them. Taking care of these clueless Fellows was far too simple.
Unfortunately, there were no Advanced Zombies here. After more than half an hour of luring and eliminating, they successfully dispatched all the Zombies.
"Whoosh!" A hissing sound erupted as that Lizard exhaled another wave of scorching breath.
