On the morning of the twenty-first, Zheng Yifan quietly left the Telecom Building, entrusting everything to Xu Jie. The power of faith would continue to ferment and spread, but this required time—something Zheng Yifan had very little of. 0

Although the Hope Gathering Place also needed time to develop slowly, Zheng Yifan had to hurry back. He had taken away sixteen scientists from the Post-Apocalypse, pure scientists, and along with Ten Thousand Steps, a group of eighteen began their journey of escape. 0

These scientists were all exceptional talents. Zheng Yifan spent that night activating their Superpowers, ensuring they could successfully return to the Hope Gathering Place. 0

Staying here would yield no results; Ancheng was only suitable for cultivating Essence Fruit and needed to nurture believers. 0

Combat! It was always at the Hope Gathering Place, where the real battlefield lay and where fighting was necessary. 0

Humanity needed belief. Zheng Yifan hoped Xu Jie could expand this Gathering Place, built entirely on faith and even religion, sweeping through the apocalypse like the Medieval Papacy and Crusaders. 0

The Hope Gathering Place needed faith but required combat even more. It needed elite Superpowered Individuals and the Superpower Technology of the apocalypse; it was a place for developing technology. 0

As he walked into the morning sunlight, Zheng Yifan led the way, followed by the sixteen scientists and Ten Thousand Steps. 0

Traveling light, no one carried luggage; Zheng Yifan took responsibility for everything. The route to the Hope Gathering Place was already decided—almost a straight line, mostly along the highways of the Post-Apocalypse. On the way, Zheng Yifan could even use a car. His Storage Space still held several usable vehicles. 0

There was no time to waste in reality. 0

Every moment had to be rushed back. He also needed to gather a large number of Survivors along the way, whether to plant seeds of hope or bring them to Ancheng. 0

Standing on the street, Zheng Yifan carefully surveyed his surroundings. This was the only passage leading out of the city—a single Overpass connecting to the wilderness. 0

Unfortunately, during the apocalypse, heavy traffic combined with human panic had left the Overpass filled with Zombies. 0

To clear a path to the outside world now meant eliminating all those Zombies; only then could they truly find their way out. 0

A dozen scientists, along with Ten Thousand Steps, were not much hope. 0

No. They still had some use; they could cover the rear with Submachine Guns. One could only hope they wouldn't accidentally shoot their own people, and that would be a blessing. 0

"Boss, I've been through these cities before. The population here is not something Ancheng can compare to. Are you really sure about this?" Ten Thousand Steps quietly approached Zheng Yifan and said. 0

"We must go back. We need support from the Hope Gathering Place. Once we open this passage, both Gathering Places will thrive even more," Zheng Yifan spoke softly, almost to himself. 0

By connecting the two locations, the Hope Gathering Place would gain talent and population, while Ancheng and other Gathering Places would acquire space for development, commerce, and a large supply of weapons. 0

The entire front line would be interconnected. That was what Zheng Yifan hoped for. 0

After crossing several blocks, they didn't see a single Zombie; instead, various Survivors searching for Essence Fruit filled the streets. They scoured every corner in search of anything that could help them survive. 0

Zheng Yifan and his group walked among them, on the main road surrounded by dilapidated shops. 0

Blood splattered on the shattered glass still lingered in the air. The dried dark purple hue naturally evoked a sense of horror within. 0

"Up ahead is the Overpass, where Zombies are most numerous. Stay close behind me and do not leap over me. I will clear this route completely; you just need to follow closely," Zheng Yifan said, holding the Silver Spear at the front, ready to attack at any moment. The Adamantium Shield was raised on his left arm, with Vital Energy surging continuously. 0

"Hey! Dude, is our leader really as fierce as you say? I always thought he was pretty nice," one of the scientists asked Ten Thousand Steps from behind. 0

They had heard of this madman during the Post-Apocalypse; several major experiments had gone awry under his direction, yet he had succeeded against all odds. 0

In the not-so-large circle of Ancheng, he had gained quite a reputation. 0

"Fierce? That's not called fierce; that's called trust. In this messed-up world, people need someone they can rely on, and a leader is just that kind of person," said a relatively young scientist among them. 0

During the conversation, Zheng Yifan had already taken his first step onto the Overpass. 0

From a high vantage point, Zheng Yifan truly experienced it. The edge of Ancheng city was close to the mountains, and this Overpass spanned across the peaks, connecting to the southern highlands. 0

The bridge was constructed in a way that Zheng Yifan could hardly comprehend; it was almost entirely suspended, with no support whatsoever, yet it linked the areas above and below the mountains. 0

Crossing two extremes, the ancient tale of Yu Gong moving mountains was rendered useless. The bridge on the high mountain connected seamlessly to the ground below—not by cable cars, but by a solid bridge. 0

"Fellows, it's been a while since I played with you all. It's time to try out my new tricks," Zheng Yifan declared. After Xu Jie’s preaching, over a hundred people had fully embraced Zheng Yifan, allowing him to begin using his Superpower. 0

He had never understood what kind of attack this Huangdi had left him with; he had never experienced such power before. 0

Now he wanted to give it a try. 0

On a Zombie. 0

"Kill!" Zheng Yifan swung his arms, power coursing through his body. 0

A surge of energy erupted from within him; it was the power of Superpower. Since he had obtained the Character Card, he had possessed Vital Energy and could wield it. But now he understood the essence of Superpower—it was the materialization of Vital Energy. This force, bestowed upon humanity by nature or some other entity through Superpower, flowed through his body and then was released. 0

The released Vital Energy would manifest according to the form of Superpower. 0

This was merely Zheng Yifan's own perception; Superpowers were bizarre and varied, like countless switches. They opened only one door—the mysterious treasure trove of the Vital Energy world. 0

Zheng Yifan's utilization was unique; he needed to possess a sincere Power of Faith. Only by harnessing this Power of Faith could he truly wield his Superpower. 0

Now, he had succeeded. A figure slowly materialized before him, the most basic application of his Superpower, shaping the form of a provider of Power of Faith to assist in battle. The combat strength was determined by the level of Superpower and the intensity of Vital Energy, while the tactics were dictated by Zheng Yifan's martial skills. 0

At this moment, his Golden Character Card was fully activated. Captain America's Character Card granted Zheng Yifan enhanced physical strength and an Adamantium Shield, while In Calamity provided him with the power of "the Way," a mystical force. However, it was Lin Chong who truly imparted the techniques to him; Lin Chong's Character Card offered skills that were deeply ingrained in his very being. 0

Now, this power was about to erupt, and what had once seemed like the most useless card for Zheng Yifan finally radiated vitality. 0

Not on his main body, but through these avatars. 0

"Kill!" With Zheng Yifan's command, the faithful figure before him conjured long spears in both hands, executing the Lin Family Spear Technique. 0

It was an ancient mastery of Shooting Skill. There was no power of the Way involved, as that was not something an illusion could wield. 0

Only pure technique and combat strength remained; each move was simple yet profound. 0

As one faithful follower appeared after another, Zheng Yifan's confidence grew. He gradually mobilized the Power of Faith, preparing to create more and push his Superpower to its limits. 0

Though it was merely the most fundamental application, he was ready to exhaust all his Superpower in this endeavor. 0

The power left to him by Huangdi was immensely strong, yet ultimately not his own—like a disposable item. While convenient and easy to use with low thresholds, its usage was limited. What truly belonged to him and what he had mastered would be most effective in battle. 0

Now! It was time for Zheng Yifan to showcase his Superpower and demonstrate his strength. 0

As a Fifth-Level Esper, all he needed was to harness the power of a Fourth-Stage Esper. Zheng Yifan firmly believed he could achieve this. 0

He needed this kind of training to grow, to continue his development. 0

"Look! What is that!" Scientists stared in astonishment at the figures appearing one after another before Zheng Yifan. They recognized them all; they were the high-ranking officials from the Telecom Building and Gathering Place. These individuals held absolute obedience to Zheng Yifan, even bordering on fervent devotion. 0

Especially the young woman named Xu Jie, who could now be referred to as a saint, as she had already begun her grand plan after Zheng Yifan's departure—a plan so vast that it would astonish even him. 0

Unfortunately, he was unaware of the storm that Ancheng would unleash upon the world. 0

All he knew was that when he used his Superpower, there was a refreshing sensation coursing through his body, akin to the exhilaration felt during an intense workout when one pushed their physical limits. 0

Though he had not yet reached his limit, he was close. Sixteen Avatars of the Believers stood in formation, each wielding a spear. Grouped in fives, they clashed with Zombies at the forefront. The Plum Blossom Formation they formed was incredibly powerful, allowing them to protect themselves while efficiently dispatching enemies amidst the horde of Zombies. 0

This was a tactic recorded in military strategy, rarely utilized in past battles because humanity never imagined engaging in close combat with Zombies. 0

However, for these Avatars of the Believers, they were unafraid of Zombie attacks. They could fully employ their formation to maximize enemy casualties. 0

Zheng Yifan did not need to worry; they had inherited all his combat techniques, including how to use the Adamantium Shield. Unfortunately, they lacked the Adamantium Shield itself and could not harness that power. 0

For them, perhaps spears were more suitable. (To be continued...) 0
