Amidst the laughter, a group of over ten people slowly approached the vicinity of the Industrial Park. Here, they could faintly see the Zombies—workers from the Post-Apocalypse Industrial Park. Although the factory was not large and primarily focused on assembly work, it required a significant number of hands, with thousands of workers diligently engaged in their tasks. As noted, there were many workers, but most were Mechanized production workers involved in producing various components and performing detailed tasks that machines struggled to replace. 0

These Zombies served as a sharpening stone for Zheng Yifan, who was honing the skills of a dozen scientists. Zheng Yifan seemed to be playing, curiously observing everything around him and seizing opportunities to stash items into his Storage Space when others weren't looking. 0

At any rate, the Storage Space had grown immensely large, and Zheng Yifan had no worries about storing items; he just needed to arrange them properly before putting them in. 0

On the streets, Zheng Yifan even managed to collect three full carts of Watch components. The Zombies finally showcased their true power, leaving everyone astonished by the strength of the Second-Level Zombie. Ancheng lacked Second-Level Zombies, and upon seeing one leap like a kangaroo and move as swiftly as a cheetah, panic spread among them. 0

Just as Zheng Yifan wanted to help, Ten Thousand Steps, the overweight man, pulled the trigger on his custom Submachine Gun. A single bullet flew out and exploded the head of that Zombie mid-flight. 0

The crisp sound heralded death and slaughter. 0

Ten Thousand Steps lightly blew on the Muzzle but ended up burning his lips on the overheated barrel, causing him to yelp in pain. 0

After this brief interlude, hundreds of Zombies at the entrance of the Factory Area had been completely cleared away. 0

Zheng Yifan was certain that there must be Survivors here. Otherwise, there wouldn't be so few Zombies; most of the nearby laboratories had likely been cleaned out. The cries of Zombies were not too numerous either; they could only be seen near the direction of the forest. 0

"Boss, do you feel this inexplicable tension in the air?" Ten Thousand Steps pointed at the factory across from them. 0

Even though all the Zombies inside the factory had been eradicated, there should still be Survivors. However, they saw no signs of any; all that remained was an empty factory with blood splattered across the ground. 0

A gentle breeze swept through, stirring up dust and painting the air gray while leaving behind a blood-stained floor. The dust carried by the wind mingled with dried blood. 0

Countless people must have died on this factory's ground—some torn apart or devoured until nothing remained but bones. 0

"Let's go; even if it's a dragon's lair or a tiger's den, we have to venture in," Zheng Yifan said as he pointed forward. A few Avatars of the Believers automatically appeared ahead to lead the way. With Superpowers at their disposal, it would be foolish not to use them; even if others couldn't harm them, being covered in blood would still be disgusting. 0

It would be more convenient to play with three Cat-like Beings now and send Avatars of the Believers to scout ahead. 0

He could also use the Avatar of the Believers to observe the situation inside at any time. Completely detached from himself, if anything happened, only the Avatar of the Believers would be eliminated; those avatars were merely Zheng Yifan's superpowers. 0

It was similar to Wu Yingzhou's spiritual manifestation. However, Wu Yingzhou's spiritual manifestation was many times stronger than Zheng Yifan's, and that immense power was certainly beyond what an ordinary person could compare to. 0

Zheng Yifan's Avatar of the Believers was mostly used for clearing out zombie hordes in large-scale battles, and now it was perfectly suited for reconnaissance missions. 0

A female Avatar of the Believers appeared. It took the form of a middle-aged woman, and this was Zheng Yifan's first time viewing the world from a woman's perspective. Standing at just under five feet tall made Zheng Yifan feel uncomfortable as he looked around; it seemed as if the entire world had suddenly grown taller. Walking down the street, he noticed dust covering everything, clearly indicating that no one had cleaned in a long time. 0

The factory's main doors were all wide open, and several loading docks had large transport trucks parked nearby. Surprisingly, there were still goods inside the trucks, although most of them had been opened. 0

It was evident that these were Survivors searching for food. However, they were destined to be disappointed; if they had gone elsewhere, they might have found food—like at those food processing companies—but searching for food at the Watch factory would only lead them to the Staff Canteen. That was where any leftover food from the Post-Apocalypse could be found. 0

However, even that would hardly sustain them for two years. 0

Peeking through the large doors of the workshop, he found it to be a complete Clean Room where not a speck of dust was allowed. Unfortunately, the cleaning facilities outside were utterly useless; Zheng Yifan casually entered the factory. 0

What greeted him was a massive assembly line where parts slowly transformed into complete Watches. The installation of gears alone occupied more than half of the workshop. Zheng Yifan wandered among them, his face filled with envy; he longed to take all this equipment away. Unfortunately, this was merely Fang Ye Tan; since he had only entered as an Avatar of the Believers, he lacked the ability to use Storage Space. That ability could only be utilized once his physical body made contact with something. If within a few meters of his body, he could use it somewhat, but the results wouldn’t be optimal. 0

The workshop was vast; it took Zheng Yifan half an hour to explore it thoroughly. Regrettably, he found nothing useful. After mapping out the entire route, Zheng Yifan planned to return and take all the equipment with him—completely dismantling an entire assembly line and gathering all its components before heading to the office building to find Design Blueprints. 0

With these items and core manufacturing technology, he could replicate some of the best mechanical Watches in this Post-Apocalyptic world. 0

"You all wait here; I’ll go inside and scout around a bit more. Give me half an hour—stay alert and don’t get taken out by anything strange. If you’re really scared, just hide in a truck or something; I’ll be back soon!" After instructing them, Zheng Yifan moved on to gather those pieces of equipment. 0

The scientists quickly dove into a nearby vehicle and pretended to be ostriches. 0

Zheng Yifan expertly navigated through the factory's interior and began his grand relocation effort. 0
For more than two hours, they had been packing things up, violently dismantling anything that was completely fixed. After all, there would be engineers from the real world responsible for maintenance and reinstallation later. 0

After two hours, Zheng Yifan stood in the center of the workshop, his face greasy, looking at the empty assembly area with satisfaction. He felt a swell of pride; another part of the factory was now under his control. 0

“Shh! Keep it down; don’t let Lord Lin hear you!” Suddenly, a voice came from a corner. Zheng Yifan looked carefully and realized it was coming from a ventilation duct. 0

It was the kind of duct often seen in movies, where people crawl through. The design of the workshop's ventilation system was robust; it would be incredibly easy for someone to navigate through those passages. 0

Listening closely, he could faintly hear the voices of several girls. Zheng Yifan couldn’t quite make out what they were saying, but he could tell they were terrified—terrified of someone called Lord Lin. 0

The ventilation duct was just to Zheng Yifan's left, only a few steps away. He could easily climb up through that passage. 0

However, it was clear that the people inside were just passing through, leaving behind only the sound of metal clanging as they slowly moved away. 0

Zheng Yifan initially didn’t want to investigate further, even though he was curious about where the Survivors were hiding. 0

These people clearly belonged to the fleeing type. The fear they had for Lord Lin indicated he was not someone to be trifled with. Zheng Yifan could sense their voices were filled with terror. 0

After taking a closer look and confirming that there were no abandoned pieces of equipment around, he turned to leave the workshop and head to the next one to catch some fresh air. 0

At that moment, however, things took an unexpected turn. It seemed that after his earlier stroke of good luck, misfortune had arrived. In a workshop filled with machinery, finding a person was still quite challenging. 0

But due to Zheng Yifan's thorough search, the entire workshop became visible at a glance; there were almost no obstructions. 0

Two men holding iron rods stared blankly at what seemed like a magically transformed workshop before turning their gaze to the only man present. 0

They stood there dumbfounded for a few seconds until someone shouted from behind: “Big Kui! What are you two doing? Hurry up and find someone! Boss Lin’s two girls are missing; get moving!” 0

The person behind shouted loudly, bringing the two in front back to their senses. They yelled, "What the hell! The equipment in the assembly workshop has been stolen! Who's the idiot? Ah! There's a fool just standing there, I've never seen him before! Someone come and take him out! We have new dishes for dinner tonight!" 0

The nickname of that fool was indeed not given for nothing; just two sentences were enough to make Zheng Yifan furious. 0

Fool... 0

He was just standing there, and suddenly he was called a fool? 0

This was simply unbearable! The Left-Handed Edman Alloy Shield rested on his arm as he shouted angrily, "Fool? You're the real fool! Your whole family is a bunch of fools! Your mom wears black socks! Your dad's a tin foil hat!" 0

After venting his anger with a barrage of insults, Zheng Yifan finally felt a bit relieved. He had come in only to be scolded for no reason and would have to clean up after himself. 0

After the outburst, he felt much better inside; it seemed like all the bad luck could be shouted away. He ruthlessly swung the Adamantium Shield in his hand. 0

Seeing those two acting like sycophants made him angry, and from the fool's words, he could predict some things. Moreover, Zheng Yifan caught a strong whiff of blood in the air—a very heavy scent. In this apocalypse, blood wouldn't come from a Slaughterhouse; if there was blood present, it certainly wasn't from slaughtering pigs! 0

Those creatures they referred to as Two-Legged Sheep were actually their own kind; they were called humans! 0

Or perhaps they had already forgotten that they were human. (To be continued...) 0
