"Let's go have some fun today! Let's check out the casino! But whatever you do, don't go to Doug Casino!" The slurping sound of noodles was utterly disgusting. A bowl of instant noodles from an unknown brand was completely devoured by Tang Long, leaving even the broth empty, and he had also eaten quite a bit of the pastries on the table. However, perhaps due to the dryness of the pastries and their strong flavor, he had eaten relatively less of those. Zheng Yifan quietly waited for Tang Long to finish chewing before carefully looking at him. "So, what exactly happened?" Zheng Yifan asked Tang Long. He was curious how someone unfamiliar with life abroad could end up with such a massive gambling debt at a casino, and be chased for payment to the point of desperation.
"It’s all Doug Casino's fault. I told you not to go there. But with these two guys around, they probably won't be too excessive; it's the ordinary people who suffer the most. When one person falls into a pit, they have to drag ten others down with them to climb out. It's like rolling a snowball; the bigger it gets, the harder it is to stop, you know?" Tang Long said with a mournful expression.
Gradually, Zheng Yifan began to understand the situation. Doug Casino was the largest casino in Las Vegas and also the most powerful one, standing as a monument in Las Vegas for years. However, something changed this year; they started selling a drink called Dream at Doug Casino. This drink was very light but incredibly delicious, suitable for anyone. However, after drinking it, people would lose track of time and enter a state of profound sensation—not losing their rationality but losing control over their perception of time and excitement. They would become addicted to gambling in the casino and sign numerous loan agreements, gambling frantically until they lost everything and accrued massive debts.
How they lost was still within their memory; there was no deception involved—just long-term depletion and endless gambling. Some individuals had remained in their spots for over a year without changing positions, continuously hoping for more money. Those were the luckiest ones, almost reaching a level of fortune that was hard for ordinary people to attain. The casino still allowed them to gamble even when their chips had escalated from thousands to tens of millions of dollars. They believed that as long as they kept gambling at the casino, they would inevitably lose everything—there were no perpetual victors unless one resorted to tricks.
However, what Tang Long recounted next became rather disturbing; he had inexplicably racked up over ten million dollars in gambling debts and began recruiting more people to gamble. A tenth of what they lost could be counted towards his debt. Only when the total amount reached that figure could he escape such a colossal burden—a sum he could hardly fathom. Ten million dollars? Enough to live lavishly for a lifetime, yet he had to bear such a heavy load. The person who had tricked him was still wandering around Doug Casino looking for relatives and friends to deceive.
Now this group was growing larger by the day. More and more deceived individuals became new promoters for Doug Casino, luring in new customers as if caught in an endless cycle. Countless people lost everything they owned while dragging all their friends down with them just to escape the fire pit! And what happened next? Their friends and family would suffer again.
Zheng Yifan felt indignant upon hearing this; it was just like pyramid schemes back home—deeply detestable and causing unimaginable harm. His eyes were nearly bloodshot as he recalled a good friend who had been driven to suicide by such scams; before taking his life, his kidney had been stolen too. It was as if every ounce of potential from that person had been completely drained away, ruining entire families including relatives and friends.
Now, almost identical events were unfolding right before Zheng Yifan's eyes. Most importantly, he now had power—the capability to do something about it—whether through his own formidable combat strength or the gradually forming influence behind him. Although he still seemed juvenile compared to those century-old families, he was beginning to take on the shape of a giant.
"Let’s go! We need to check out Doug Casino! How can I Zheng Yifan miss out on such an exciting place?" Zheng Yifan strode ahead confidently while Tang Long led the way. However, behind them, Jessica wore clothes that Zheng Yifan had gifted her, her chest nearly bursting out of them. Yet her phone never stopped ringing! She was calling the head of Security Company to inquire about when Mercenaries would arrive.
No! They had become security personnel but still couldn't shake off their mercenary habits and temperaments. Everything remained as it used to be; they merely changed titles. Hope Group's Security Company never demanded anything from them; they simply profited from dealing with Zombies and established themselves in the security market thanks to those hideous monsters.
As for other Security Companies? They were nowhere near as professional nor did they possess a series of plans and tools for eliminating Zombies like they did. They still faced ordinary humans or movie-style Zombies instead—ultimately suffering losses themselves.
These Zombies were entirely different from those they encountered before; their formidable combat power didn't manifest in regular attacks but rather through virus transmission and Zombie Crystal powers. They focused solely on headshots but often fell victim to Zombies that were already on the brink of death or slipped on Zombie fluid that entered wounds—sometimes even just a small crack in their foot could be fatal.
Now all elite Mercenaries were beginning to gather together; Zheng Yifan paid little attention to everything else—his own strength alone was enough to take down everyone at Doug Casino. A military force numbering in the tens of thousands? That was certainly not something any casino could rival.
On their way there, Tang Long still felt as if he were in a Dream-like state; this fellow actually wanted to venture into dangerous territory! What astonished him even more was that behind him were two Brothers who initially seemed like bar dancers but now followed along laughing as if everything revolved around Zheng Yifan's decisions—it was simply unbelievable!
However, what surprised him even more was yet to come.
Doug Casino was located right in the heart of Las Vegas, encompassing nearly all dining and entertainment options where one could enjoy royal treatment—even the Grand Sailing Hotel couldn't match its comfort level because it offered the most luxurious gambling feast imaginable.
At Doug Casino's main entrance, just one glance confirmed it as the largest casino—the majestic architecture and surrounding facilities made it hard not to linger there; this casino's value could be estimated at around 10 billion dollars—a price that couldn't be considered cheap! That amounted to five hundred billion dollars—a staggering figure when converted into soft currency!
And even at this price tag, they might not even be willing to sell! This was undoubtedly the largest casino in the world—without exception—the epitome of luxury enjoyment and every gambler's dreamland.
Taxis could only drop off guests at the entrance before promptly leaving; no one qualified for long-term stays here—all those who parked nearby were wealthy tycoons.
Zheng Yifan's group of five didn't seem particularly eye-catching; however, he distinctly noticed security guards subtly nodding towards Tang Long—though barely perceptible, Zheng Yifan caught sight of it nonetheless.
"Brothers, now you’re my fish caught on a hook! Just remember not to drink those beverages; their hallucinogenic components are quite potent!" Tang Long repeatedly cautioned Zheng Yifan.
Zheng Yifan merely nodded and turned back to remind Jessica and her companions. He wasn't afraid of hallucinogens; those things had no effect on him whatsoever—a Fifth Level Superpowered Individual being taken down by such substances would indeed be problematic!
"Don't worry! I'm a magician—I can easily swap out any poison inside!" Zheng Yifan declared himself with an impressive title: magician—a profession where any issue could be attributed back; after all, magicians always seemed mysterious enough to turn impossible feats into possible ones.
"My goodness! I never expected you’d be a magician like David Copperfield! Oh! What a surprise!" The identity Zheng Yifan fabricated astonished him greatly. Of course, Jessica behind him nearly burst into laughter—her Boss being a magician? He must be the greatest magician in existence!
He conjured up powerful businessmen providing electricity energy from thin air while monopolizing nearly all Clean Energy markets—what’s more incredible is that he began venturing into military industry and automotive sectors too!
To others' eyes, he appeared insane—achieving minor success in one field only led him toward self-inflation while desperately wanting success across all endeavors—ultimately resulting in nothing accomplished.
Those tycoons had already begun preparing for an acquisition of Hope Group at any moment—even though their Boss seemed scatterbrained and indecisive—a Fellow nonetheless—they remained attentive towards Hope Group’s Solar Photovoltaic Power Station Project—a golden goose they’d been eyeing for quite some time now.
They awaited Hope Group's funding chain collapse—but unfortunately for them, Zheng Yifan would never allow such an event occur; food supplies for Hope Gathering Place needed real-world replenishment because if funding chains broke down—it would mean life or death for millions!
What reassured Zheng Yifan most were all his investment projects.
