"Yes! It's tough for us Chinese, especially because we're not mainstream! The center of the world isn't occupied by Chinese people." Zheng Yifan forced a smile. He understood the struggles faced by Chinese abroad. As a Chinese himself, he knew that if he had pursued those projects from the beginning, aside from the God Index which could consistently generate profit, the other projects would likely have failed quickly.
Foreigners do not believe that a Chinese person could possess such advanced technology. In their eyes, what are Chinese people? They are seen as the producers of knock-offs and inferior goods, the source of the world's most substandard products.
The two exchanged smiles, sharing a moment of camaraderie. One of life's greatest joys is encountering an old friend in a foreign land. In the forests of America, meeting not just a stranger but someone from the same ancestry brought about a different feeling altogether.
Before long, they had nearly come to know each other completely.
Qian Weiping was a Chinese expatriate in America, having immigrated since his grandfather's generation. Now, at forty-two years old, Qian Weiping had become somewhat of a mad scientist, spending years conducting experiments and researching various topics. Then suddenly, something caught his eye—a Zombie appeared before him, and Zombie Crystal emerged in front of him. What a beautiful and stunning crystal it was! It was a beauty he had never dared to imagine; just holding it in his palm allowed him to feel the energy pulsating within. From that moment on, he began his research on Zombie Crystal.
Now, despite his downfall, his initial experimental equipment remained intact. He had once reported damage to his lab and replaced all the equipment with new ones, but the old equipment was still stored here until now when it was finally put back into use.
"You two didn't come here just for this old man, did you? What exactly is going on?" Qian Weiping asked Zheng Yifan with a smile. His tone was casual, as if welcoming younger guests.
"We're here to invite you back into the field. To research the power of Zombie Crystal! That's what we've named that crystal. The power and application of Zombie Crystal have already surpassed the realm you're currently studying," Zheng Yifan's words were filled with temptation.
Zheng Yifan's words were like a devil's temptation, stirring an intense excitement within Qian Weiping. Hundreds of billions of dollars had already been spent without seeing any tangible results or products.
The young man before him claimed to possess the ability to release energy or utilize Zombie Crystal. Fine, for now, let's call it Zombie Crystal; whatever it is can already be used!
"Really! I haven't read much. Don't try to fool me! If you want me to believe you, you must show me something concrete!" Without actual proof, Old Buddy would never believe Zheng Yifan's tall tales.
To Qian Weiping, this young man seemed like just another fellow countryman; he would be more than welcome here. Treating him to a meal or some drinks was no issue at all. Despite being bankrupt now, his relief funds were more than sufficient. Moreover, he was still a scientist; with just a little tinkering here and there, he could make quite a bit of money.
Wisdom was his greatest asset.
"Look at this!" Zheng Yifan waved an activated Zombie Crystal in front of Qian Weiping's eyes. The intoxicating purple shimmered with an exhilarating glow, and Qian Weiping could not tear his gaze away after just one glance.
This was what he had always dreamed of.
"How did you do it? Is the energy release already visible to the naked eye?" Qian Weiping's hands nearly reached for Zheng Yifan's, his eyes fixated solely on the Zombie Crystal. This was an activated Zombie Crystal, representing immense power.
The power of a single Zombie Crystal could rival that of a Cloud Bomb. Its essence was merely a crystallized form from a Zombie, the cheapest source of energy. Although it cost human lives, if there were a way to produce it, it would be the best energy source.
"There's no need to keep looking. Since we want to recruit you, there will be plenty of Zombie Crystal s in the future, and we'll even provide you with machines to activate them!" Zheng Yifan said casually. Beside him, Jessica was already stunned; she had never discussed much with Zheng Yifan before and had no idea about the true core of his enterprise until now. By establishing a relationship with Zheng Yifan, she finally understood.
While the world invested hundreds of Billion Dollars into research without yielding results, Zheng Yifan had finished products here, and it seemed they were more than just simple products.
"This is amazing! This is pure genius! How did you manage to store so much energy inside? And the energy can be fully utilized and completely activated, as if it's not any substance from Earth!" Qian Weiping was ecstatic; this was true Zombie Crystal technology, without a hint of counterfeit. If this scientific breakthrough were released to the world, it would cause an uproar.
"What Solar Photovoltaic Power Station? What cursed Hope Group? They can all go to hell!" Qian Weiping shouted angrily, as if facing a mortal enemy.
Zheng Yifan smiled awkwardly while Jessica burst out laughing. It was like cursing a monk in front of him; after all, wasn't the boss of Hope Group Zheng Yifan himself? Now Qian Weiping was cursing Hope Group right in front of him.
"What grudge do you have against Hope Group? I don't recall them researching this technology!" Zheng Yifan said, bemused.
"What do you mean they haven't? If it weren't for their damn Solar Photovoltaic Power Station, the whole world would support my project—Clean Energy! Do you know how important Clean Energy is? The polluting energy sources used worldwide are the biggest killers; they are draining the world's power for human development. If that continues, humanity's destruction will surely stem from using those energy sources. The real culprit is actually themselves," Qian Weiping said, managing to steady his voice.
"Clean Energy is the trend of the future, something that all countries around the world are paying attention to. If we truly research it, hundreds of billions? Trillions? The entire world will have to pay the price, all for the sake of future generations living longer. However, ever since the emergence of Solar Photovoltaic Power Stations, all electric vehicle models have become the inevitable trend of the future. Energy is approaching complete reliance on electricity, and the world will become a better place, allowing humanity to live longer.
The power of Zombie Crystal is Clean Energy! It can definitely enable humanity to live better, although obtaining Zombie Crystal is rather cruel. But with so many people in the world, and with future advancements in Cloning Technology, we can produce humans without intelligence or brains, turning them into hosts for Zombie Crystal, transforming them into Zombie Crystal for human use... All of this is because of Solar Photovoltaic Power Stations; Zombie Crystal has become obsolete. Humanity no longer needs to duplicate resources, at least not at such a great cost."
