Holding dual guns, Zheng Yifan leisurely stepped into the supermarket. The glass windows were completely shattered, leaving no chance of holding out here. However, the rolling shutter door above was still usable. 0

Zheng Yifan was the last to enter. The rolling shutter door had been forcefully torn down, leaving just enough space for half a person to squeeze through. The shutters on the nearby windows had all been pulled down as well. 0

These barriers wouldn’t provide much defense against zombies, but they were enough to buy them time to search for supplies before making their escape. 0

In just a few minutes, they would gather all the supplies they needed. Each person carried a 100-liter oversized backpack and held weapons in their hands, so they couldn’t take too much with them. 0

To fight, they had to give up some supplies; these could be collected on their next trip, but they definitely couldn’t take everything at once. 0

Zheng Yifan smiled as he watched them search for supplies while he quietly closed the rolling shutter door. 0

“Bang! Bang!” The continuous banging echoed in the room, disturbing Zheng Yifan and the others, but no one paid it any mind. Only Zheng Yifan listened intently to the noise, hoping that no formidable zombies would arrive to interrupt his time with them. 0

However, it was clear that these people were too preoccupied. They busily searched for their supplies; there were plenty of items in this room that could be taken. Yet they often chose those that were bulky, high in energy, and long-lasting—like canned candies and chocolates—tearing open the packaging and dumping them directly into their backpacks before stuffing in some rice. Next came white flour and other food items. These were the essentials for staving off hunger. 0

Zheng Yifan observed silently. 0

“Brother, you should take some too. I see you don’t have a backpack, but don’t waste all this good stuff!” One of the group, clearly the leader, said to Zheng Yifan. 0

“It’s fine; I’m not short on supplies right now. I just want to rest with you all in a safe place,” Zheng Yifan replied coolly. 0

The others showed no further reaction; they simply nodded silently and continued packing their supplies. 0

They didn’t care whether Zheng Yifan truly just wanted a moment’s rest. If it came to fighting again, they knew they wouldn’t stand a chance against him; it was better to be self-aware. They focused on gathering their own supplies and planned to return with this fellow. 0

At the very least, they had saved themselves, hadn't they? 0

As for the others' private matters, they didn't want to get involved, nor could they. The killing machine in front of them could wipe out all the Survivors, and it wouldn't matter to them. After all, they hadn't prepared to live when they came out; surviving these few days didn't guarantee their future survival. 0

Those who dared to engage in such dangerous activities were not afraid of death. 0

"One minute left! Everyone, hurry up! We need to go; the Zombies at the entrance are about to break through the door. If those two Second-Level Zombies hadn't been taken down by that guy, we would all be dead here." The leader's voice rang out among the crowd. Others lowered their heads and hurriedly gathered supplies. In reality, they only had two minutes; they had to pack their bags as quickly as possible without letting their backpacks hinder their combat abilities. 0

Combat capability was the most crucial part of ensuring their survival. They absolutely could not waste their lives so easily. 0

Zheng Yifan quietly watched them, as if he were observing an inconsequential movie. Or perhaps this was something he could only see in films, but now it was reality. 0

"Go! The door can't hold much longer. Everyone, reload your weapons. We have a tough battle ahead. If you have bullets, support us; if not, retreat together." The Leader finally revealed himself—a man in his forties with a scruffy beard, looking rather disheveled. Yet in this group, he held significant authority. 0

Almost everyone followed his orders. Zheng Yifan could clearly see a few people hastily stuffing bags into their backpacks before securely zipping them up and fastening them tightly around themselves. 0

They were about to face war—there would be no sympathy; they had to execute everything they could with precision. 0

"Go!" As Zheng Yifan kept his eyes on them, the Leader charged out with a Submachine Gun in hand, waving at Zheng Yifan before rushing toward the entrance while clutching a Grenade. 0

That Grenade was likely his most important possession; it had been carefully protected within layers of safety. Now that he took it out, it was undoubtedly for their retreat. Following the gap that had been pried open in the roll-up door, he threw the Grenade that was primed to explode at any moment outside, and everyone instinctively dropped to the ground. 0

Of course, this did not include Zheng Yifan; even if he were at the center of the explosion, he wouldn't suffer too much harm. However, for the others, it was nothing short of torment. 0

The grenade exploded just a few meters away, scattering the zombies in all directions. The shrapnel pierced their bodies but failed to inflict any more serious damage. 0

In truth, the casualties were not as impressive as one might hope; however, a safe passage had been cleared for the time being. 0

At the entrance, several people rushed out with submachine guns, charging at the zombies in a flurry of gunfire. Then they shrank back, retreating into the alley around the corner. 0

That was their escape route. The zombies only blocked the entrance, and there were none in the alley; they had already cleared out any zombies that had been there. Now, they could slip out through the side. 0

Zheng Yifan followed them along the pre-planned route as they continued to retreat. 0

It was evident that they were quite professional about this. Outside the mall, in the plaza, they darted in and out, constantly luring the zombies. Due to the absence of higher-level zombies, the low-level ones couldn't keep up with their pace and were slowly drawn away from the mall's main entrance like a kite on a string, becoming increasingly tangled in their path. 0

However, Zheng Yifan could see that their goal was to draw the zombies away from the central area and then gradually approach the mall again through a safe passage. 0

In just over ten minutes, everyone was nearly exhausted, but only about a hundred zombies remained at the mall entrance, posing no real threat. The group used their last reserves of strength to sprint toward what they hoped would be their refuge for survival. 0

Zheng Yifan quietly followed behind them, silently wanting to see what this survivor group was fighting for—was it another hope gathering place? 0

But… he was destined to be disappointed. (To be continued...) 0
