No matter how mysterious the underground laboratories were, Zheng Yifan had only the conventional way to enter—through fingerprint and iris verification. He had none of the necessary credentials, but he possessed one thing: a Signal Generator in his hand, a device used by military spies that could influence equipment and automatically pass checks, as long as it wasn't the highest level of scrutiny. 0

It turned out that ascending was indeed possible. For instance, the elevator was currently moving upward. 0

Once Zheng Yifan reached the second floor, he was immediately confronted by Zombies—two of them to be exact. However, upon seeing them for the first time, he realized that these Zombies had undergone mutations. Although they were of the lowest tier, Zheng Yifan noticed some differences; their bodies seemed to be changing, exhibiting subtle signs of transformation, as if granular substances were spreading across their forms. 0

Light could penetrate their bodies, allowing him to vaguely see the objects behind them. The mutations in their bodies were no longer the most pressing concern; what mattered more was their means of attack. As Zheng Yifan stepped forward, a strong wave of energy surged around him, accompanied by an intense burning sensation. A multitude of light beams acted like powerful bullets, striking his body with a force akin to a pulse wave or an indescribable power. 0

Though the damage was minimal, these were merely First-Level Zombies. There were still Second Tier and Third Stage Zombies, as well as even higher-level ones. 0

Deep City was not lacking in Zombies, and such formidable lethality was disorienting. In that instant of being attacked, he summoned his Adamantium Shield and positioned it in front of himself. The searing sensation continued to intensify at his wounds; Zheng Yifan knew that if he held out against it, the temperature would keep rising until it pierced through his body completely. 0

However, this process would take time—he estimated at least half a month. If Zheng Yifan were not foolish, he could certainly kill the Zombies and avoid damage; but that was with his Fifth Level strength. What if he were an ordinary person? They would likely be pierced through instantly. Even a First-Level Esper would probably face death against this Zombie. And this was just one; if there were thousands or tens of thousands attacking simultaneously at one point, even Sixth or Seventh Level Superpowered Individuals would perish. 0

With a swift thrust from his Silver Spear, he lightly pierced its head. Yet the Zombie showed no signs of change until Zheng Yifan tossed a Zombie Crystal at it, which finally killed it. 0

The form it took after death was different as well; the Zombie transformed into Zombie Fluid that seeped into the ground. 0

This particular Zombie did not follow suit—it completely turned into light and dissipated into thin air, leaving behind a golden Zombie Crystal. This crystal made Zheng Yifan feel another kind of power. Perhaps it was the Solar Photovoltaic Panels outside gathering solar energy and forming a special force with Vital Energy that created such unique Zombies. 0

Zheng Yifan confirmed that these types of Zombies must be rare; if there were many more, he would have been unable to resist. 0

After clearing away the two Zombies, Zheng Yifan resumed his relocation efforts. The second floor was filled with items; this was the research lab for new materials related to Solar Photovoltaic Panels. All the equipment was here, and he took everything—the experimental devices and data—leaving no other Zombies in sight apart from those two. He wondered where all those people had gone; all he knew was that this place was filled with oddities. The Cleaning robots continued to appear in the corridors to assist Zheng Yifan with cleaning up. The high-tech traces on the walls were evident, with screens still displaying videos from the Post-Apocalypse era. 0

It was an introduction to the entire laboratory's research achievements, complete with photographs of the visitors. 0

All of it was in a digital album, and each photo was remarkably clear. Zheng Yifan could glean a lot of information, such as what certain rooms were for. For instance, the Data Storage Room for Paper Records on the second floor contained a safe, which Zheng Yifan spotted in a flickering corner of a video. If it hadn't been for the video showcasing the lab's recent completion, he would have easily overlooked that hidden laboratory buried within the walls. 0

They were truly sinister; all paper data was casually discarded down a passageway, where machines automatically organized and stored it in the Storage Room. 0

There was no human oversight—whatever data was needed could simply be retrieved from the Computer using its identification number. 0

Naturally, Zheng Yifan couldn't use the Computer; he lacked the technical skills. However, he had a more direct means: brute force destruction. He would disregard all machinery and head straight for the Storage Space—this was his most reliable option. 0

As for the Destruction System inside, Zheng Yifan didn't give it a chance. After obliterating the machines, he quickly absorbed all the data into the Storage Space. He watched as flames surged within—not an explosion, but rather a complete annihilation of all data. 0

The entire System took an agonizingly slow time to activate. After all, they were dealing with humans; it required at least three minutes to initiate the equipment. There were multiple verifications and checks before the final program could be activated. 0

No one wanted their precious data to be mysteriously destroyed by their own self-destruct protocols. 0

By the time the flames rose, Zheng Yifan had already moved on to the next room. 0

Sweeping through, Zheng Yifan cleared out all four floors, taking every piece of data with him. He found no trace of the most critical information; it seemed all data was stored in the Computer without any paper documents left behind. 0

When Zheng Yifan reached the top floor, it felt like one cohesive unit. However, he could advance no further because he was surrounded by solid metal walls. In front of him was a lounge of about forty square meters and an enormous screen that occupied all the walls. 0

On it was an image of a girl wearing glasses, seemingly engrossed in some research. Yet when Zheng Yifan entered, she inexplicably turned to face him as if she truly saw him. Observing his unusual attire and weaponry, she uttered something that left Zheng Yifan in shock. 0

"You're not a member of the laboratory, are you? The equipment outside was all destroyed by you, and you've taken the data as well. Do you really think this Fellow can take me away too?" The Computer surprisingly communicated with Zheng Yifan as if it were an ordinary human. (To be continued...) 0
