What substance can shatter light?
A mirror?
That's just reflecting light. What about a prism? That only disperses light.
It is Zheng Yifan, who possesses the superpower to crush all intangible substances, along with formidable combat strength. Just like now, Zheng Yifan's left hand is fully defending against the incoming damage with his Adamantium Shield, while his right hand wields the Silver Spear, radiating terrifying superpower. This is the emblem of his attack; as he lightly thrusts forward with his right hand, it feels as if all of Zheng Yifan's strength is concentrated in that motion. His combat power skyrockets, stronger than he ever anticipated. The increasing might of his superpower compels him to reevaluate his own abilities; he realizes that he must gradually abandon all his previous techniques because he knows that when he reaches the Sixth Tier, there will be a significant transformation.
What this transformation entails, he does not know; he only understands that he must change, or he will be unable to face the creatures of the Seventh Level or confront Chiyou, such a formidable human.
He must break through himself to truly stand firm on the soil of the apocalypse.
With a gentle shake of his hands, all his strength erupts completely. The Adamantium Shield in his left hand meets the attack from the Zombie across from him. If such a powerful strike were to hit him directly, Zheng Yifan would surely be unable to withstand it.
But now, he holds the Adamantium Shield, specifically designed for defense; the strongest material, Adamantium, will not let Zheng Yifan down. With a thrust of the Silver Spear in his right hand, it pierces through the air towards the radiant figure before him.
It feels as if he has struck a mirror; there is a strong sense of resistance as if he has touched something hard and slightly viscous. The Silver Spear seems to be stuck in a swamp, unable to advance or retreat. Zheng Yifan realizes that this is the power of the Solar Zombie across from him, or perhaps it could be the energy of a Light Element Zombie.
This is a new type of Zombie; they possessed extensive knowledge about optics in life and mutated while being in an area where Solar Energy was relatively concentrated. This has led to their current situation where their combat power has dramatically increased, infused with solar capabilities. The only inconvenience lies in Eve's supervision; without her, they would have undoubtedly advanced in tier and escaped long ago.
However, confined within Eve's laboratory, they cannot leave any of the rooms. There isn't much opportunity for them to level up; they can only wait silently for their ascension without human flesh and blood and without walking directly under the sun. They rely solely on energy provided by Solar Photovoltaic Panels.
In reality, due to considerations for energy conservation and reducing waste, Eve has not supplied sufficient Solar Energy for quite some time.
This only adds insult to injury.
The Zombie before Zheng Yifan is a Third Stage Light Element Zombie—its lethality is formidable, and its body is almost turning into light itself. Ordinary people cannot attack it; they can only flee.
In the outside world, he was nearly invincible, but now he faced Zheng Yifan, and that was a path leading to certain death.
The Silver Spear pierced through his body, shattering it completely. However, the Light Element remained cohesive; all the power was intertwined, never separating. When Zheng Yifan retracted his Silver Spear, they began to transform. The Light Element complemented and communicated with each other, their powers coalescing as if forming a miniature sun, only to separate once more.
All damage ceased to exist; Zheng Yifan couldn't even locate the Zombie Crystal.
Because the Zombie Crystal had transformed into pure Light Element, dispersing into the air. Only when the Zombie was completely dead would those Zombie Crystal s appear.
Zheng Yifan could only wear down this Zombie gradually; an ordinary Third-Stage Zombie was as easy to kill as slaughtering a dog. But now?
It was incredibly difficult. The Light Element Zombie before him was still too weak, and its recovery speed was painfully slow.
As Zheng Yifan repeatedly pierced its body, he slowly discerned a pattern. The larger the wound, the longer the recovery time. This meant that using a blunt weapon inflicted significantly more damage than using the Silver Spear.

This continued for eight minutes. Zheng Yifan grew increasingly anxious; if every Third-Stage Zombie required such lengthy battles, his own level seemed rather inadequate. Yet in reality, the time he spent waiting proved entirely worthwhile.
When Zheng Yifan obtained a pure transparent Zombie Crystal, he knew his luck had arrived.
At that moment, the Time-Space Barrier automatically identified the type of Zombie Crystal before him.
Advanced Light Energy Crystal—though it was merely Third Stage, it held special uses.
Zheng Yifan still did not have the authority to determine what exactly the Zombie Crystal was used for. He needed to acquire more Zombie Crystal s before he could exchange them for the technology that would allow him to truly utilize this particular crystal.
During the First Vitality Era, these Zombie Crystal s were entirely produced by nature. Even in the Second Vitality Era, such deposits existed; they were a complete collection of Vital Energy, but Zheng Yifan had yet to discover them. These deposits were scattered around the globe, and only the Lucky Ones could obtain some.
They could only be born under extreme conditions.
The quantity was limited, and the Advanced Light Energy Crystal was one of those rare occurrences. Its importance during the First Vitality Era was so significant that it was almost beyond comprehension.
They referred to this type of Zombie Crystal as the Holy Stone.
A sacred stone that only those with exceptional luck could obtain; just one piece could protect an entire Village.
Zheng Yifan tucked this item away, feeling a surge of excitement. The initially unrecognized golden Zombie Crystal had now begun to gain acknowledgment, and perhaps this High-Level Soul Crystal in his possession was even purer and more in demand by the Time-Space Barrier.
With a treasure-hunting mindset, the monotony faded away. Zheng Yifan slowly explored his surroundings, meticulously searching each room in the laboratory, leaving no stone unturned.
His goal was clear: first, he would take all the technology he could find. Finally, he would retrieve Eve, as that place was the most crucial part of the entire laboratory and the only location where Zheng Yifan hoped there would be no Zombies.
Along the way, he eliminated over a dozen Light Element Zombies, steadily increasing his collection of Advanced Light Energy Crystals to eighteen. Zheng Yifan estimated that this should be enough to protect Hope Gathering Place. (To be continued.)
