War was on the brink of eruption, and the entire Deep City had been thrown into chaos by Zheng Yifan. The ground was already soaked with the fluids of countless Zombies, while the sky had turned overcast. The setting sun hung low in the sky, signaling the approach of night, a time when the Zombies typically rested. 0

But now, they had all emerged. The war would never cease; they were engaged in an unending battle against Zheng Yifan's Avatar of the Believers. In this continuous conflict, the Zombies began to evolve, while the Avatar of the Believers grew weaker. 0

However, after the battles, many Zombies started to perish. Deep City was boiling with unrest as the Zombies began to riot. The intelligent Zombies began to strategize and mobilize their forces, sending countless elite units to eliminate Zheng Yifan's Avatar of the Believers. 0

Zheng Yifan found himself facing increasingly difficult challenges. The ordinary Avatars of the Believers could not withstand the overwhelming numbers of Advanced Zombies; combat had become exceedingly tough. 0

A sense of dread slowly crept into Zheng Yifan's heart; their power was terrifying. With millions of Three to Four Level Zombies, no matter how strong he was, he could not resist. 0

Now, he was confronting this reality. 0

The entire city was in turmoil as large groups of Advanced Zombies gathered. Low-Level Zombies moved to the outskirts of the city, systematically organizing their ranks. The remaining Survivors felt as if they had entered an apocalypse—a true end of days. The countdown to death loomed over them; even if they hid deeply, they had never faced such overwhelming pressure from hordes of Zombies surrounding them. The number of Survivors in the city center was already scarce, most having retreated to the periphery. Yet now, countless Low-Level Zombies crowded around the outskirts. Ironically, this left the very center of the city relatively empty. Although these Zombies were at a higher level, their target remained Zheng Yifan and his summoned Avatar of the Believers. 0

These Zombies would not chase after ordinary Survivors indiscriminately. 0

In the building where Zheng Yifan had taken refuge, there seemed to be a stir. Survivors that Zheng Yifan had been unable to locate were suddenly appearing like mushrooms after rain. 0

It was during one of his meals that he first heard noises from below and realized what was happening. 0

Before him now stood two children—a boy and a girl. 0

They were children, though they appeared to be around sixteen or seventeen years old. Modern youths at that age still bore childlike features and habits, unlike those from ancient times who would have likely been married with children by then. 0

These two children acted like wildlings, seemingly emerging from nowhere. They ignored Zheng Yifan entirely and rummaged through each room in search of usable items. 0

This was a grand hotel; every guest room was stocked with snacks and daily necessities. The room service was exceptionally thorough, meaning each room contained enough snacks for one or two people to consume. 0

Now, they were searching for these things. 0

The disturbances outside had already alerted them, prompting their emergence from underground. Their life, fraught with hardship, had to continue; if they lacked the courage to live, they would have perished long ago. 0

However, survival was indeed quite difficult for them. Only now could they truly gather all the resources they needed. 0

Surviving in the very center of the city was the most challenging for the Survivors. The future looked bleak as well, for Advanced Zombies had already arrived, and encountering them meant certain death. On the flip side, their resources would not be so scarce anymore. 0

The area with the most supplies in Deep City was right in the heart of the city. With such a vast number of Zombies around, there were no densely packed Zombie hordes left in this location. 0

Moreover, battles could erupt at any moment along the coast; these Advanced Zombies were the main force in combat. Once the Advanced Zombies left the city center, the Survivors could gather all the food they needed. 0

"Hey! What are you two doing?" Zheng Yifan called out as he watched two children run past him, completely ignoring his presence. 0

The two mischievous kids seemed to be rusted in place. Their speed gradually slowed down as they dared not run too fast. 0

Zheng Yifan appeared normal, but behind him were two Tumors that resembled Zombies. 0

This completely distorted human appearance instilled fear in them. Yet their legs refused to move; they couldn't even take a single step forward. 0

"Where did you come from? I haven't seen any creatures in this hotel," Zheng Yifan slowly turned around to face the two Fellows, his imposing aura nearly overwhelming them. 0

"You! If you want to eat someone, just eat me and let my brother go!" the girl Child managed to turn around and said to Zheng Yifan with difficulty. 0

"Eat? I never eat people; I'm not a monster. Just answer my question, and you can leave," Zheng Yifan replied calmly. 0

He truly feared scaring the two children. 0

In the apocalypse, humanity's living space had become exceedingly narrow. Zheng Yifan now resembled a Zombie, with two Tumors on his back transforming him into a grotesque monster. 0

"I... We live in an Underground Warehouse and an underground parking lot. When the apocalypse first hit, those military uncles sealed off all the entrances," a slightly older boy stammered as he spoke the truth. 0

The girl, a Child, turned pale after hearing her brother's words, her heart racing with fear. 0

They had nothing left to protect; this secret could be their foundation for survival. Without those who had once safeguarded them, survival was impossible. 0

"Haha! You don't need to be afraid. I am truly human; those two lumps behind me are just an accident. I came from outside Deep City and just arrived here recently," Zheng Yifan said, poking at the two Tumors. 0

The Tumors were surprisingly elastic, as if they could spring to life at any moment. 0

The two children stared at Zheng Yifan, their hearts struggling with uncertainty. They didn't know if Zheng Yifan would kill them both. 0

Though they were merely young, they had developed a rough understanding of the world. The sister had just entered high school after graduating middle school in the Post-Apocalypse, but she was already aware of the malice in people's hearts. Now, facing this strange being that might not even be human, speaking to him felt dangerous. 0

They had sneaked out to search for food. While observing from their hiding spot, they noticed a significant decrease in Zombies. Although fierce Zombies still appeared occasionally, their numbers were indeed dwindling. 0

They needed food; they needed to survive. Everyone was starving, and if things continued this way, they weren't sure how much longer they could last. (To be continued...) 0
