The massive Aircraft Carrier was moving forward, and standing at the bow was a man with a broad smile. He was an elderly gentleman in his sixties, a rare sight in this apocalyptic world. Yet here he was, beaming as he gazed at the dock ahead. 0

The Aircraft Carrier was not traveling at high speed; its nuclear-powered capabilities made it formidable, with unmatched endurance. 0

This Aircraft Carrier bore a distinctly French design, perhaps the first one Zheng Yifan had ever seen. However, its speed left much to be desired. Was this truly the most powerful weapon of war in the world? 0

Zheng Yifan knew that many Aircraft Carriers awaited him across the oceans of the Apocalyptic World. 0

In his own country alone, there were nearly ten Aircraft Carriers, equipped with top-notch aircraft and technology. The one before him could barely be classified as a medium-sized Aircraft Carrier; its sluggish pace made it feel like an old relic among Aircraft Carriers. Yet, regardless of its shortcomings, it still represented the pinnacle of a nation's military strength. 0

Now, Zheng Yifan was filled with doubt about who had brought this Aircraft Carrier to Australia. 0

Alongside his confusion, many others began to take evasive actions. They understood that this Aircraft Carrier had not yet been officially claimed by any faction. If it belonged to their side, they would rejoice; but if it were an enemy's or belonged to another nation's military, that would spell trouble. 0

"Boss! It's confirmed that our company's personnel brought it over. However, this individual has a special identity and has insisted on meeting you personally once the Aircraft Carrier arrives—it's meant to be a surprise," a soldier carrying Communication Equipment relayed the news after about ten minutes. 0

Currently, they were equipped with lightweight gear; their goal for this mission was to travel light. 0

What they needed did not require heavy equipment. Even civilian-grade devices were sufficient for communication. Military-grade equipment would serve little purpose since everything could be conducted openly; even the warlords controlling various territories could not obstruct Zheng Yifan. 0

Unless they resorted to nuclear weapons. But Zheng Yifan knew those bombs might not even detonate. The underlying rules had not changed; the foundations remained intact. However, weapons of mass destruction were still restricted; otherwise, if nuclear bombs were carelessly deployed worldwide, the planet would have already been obliterated. 0

These inexplicable rules were established to prevent biological annihilation of the planet. They represented perhaps the most powerful force in the universe—no other power could surpass them. 0

Zheng Yifan waited, and within half an hour, the Aircraft Carrier had docked at the innermost part of the harbor. 0

Fortunately, it was only a medium-sized Aircraft Carrier that could barely fit. The main issue was that there were no maintenance facilities available here; thus, the Aircraft Carrier remained in combat readiness rather than undergoing repairs. 0

Of course, all the supplies were far from perfect; at the very least, they only had a handful of pilots. The entire aircraft carrier had no more than thirty combatants, including engineers, logistics personnel, and even the captain. 0

The captain was originally just the vice captain, a relatively marginalized figure. 0

This Charles de Gaulle nuclear-powered aircraft carrier could be considered a national treasure of France, yet here it was, showing signs of wear and rust upon closer inspection. 0

Just thinking about it made it clear that France had issued the heaviest taxes in the world a few years ago, desperately trying to secure funding and resources. 0

Why? 0

Was it not due to poverty? A developed country with a continuously declining GDP had seen its military budget stagnate as well. Coupled with other factors, this had resulted in the nation's overall combat capability being quite weak. 0

Even the most important aircraft carrier of the country was now covered in rust. 0

What was most alarming was that it had been brought right before them. 0

One must understand that operating an aircraft carrier requires an enormous amount of codes, information, and equipment. Now, the people from Hope Group were actively searching for relevant individuals to obtain this information. Many had died, but not all scientists associated with the construction of the aircraft carrier were gone. 0

They had become the targets of Hope Group. Currently, the approaching aircraft carrier was almost in a temporary operational state; however, its core systems remained inactive and could not initiate an attack. 0

Yet Zheng Yifan was not worried; with Eve around—an unparalleled supercomputer from the apocalyptic world—cracking the entire set of programs for the aircraft carrier would surely be feasible. 0

In just over ten minutes, dozens of people disembarked from the aircraft carrier. Most of them were French soldiers, dressed in military uniforms with serious expressions on their faces, filled with an odd sense of uncertainty. 0

They were once soldiers serving on this aircraft carrier, but now they felt like birds without a home, unsure of what their future held. 0

The surrounding sea was unfamiliar, with only a few people having visited during their vacations, but they had not come to this Transport Port. 0

The dock's facilities were severely lacking, and there were no Supplies at all. If they didn't disembark, they might even think they would starve. 0

If it weren't for the Vice Captain's father recommending them, they wouldn't have been willing to come at all. 0

They knew that the Aircraft Carrier before them was merely a massive shell; they couldn't use any of its weapons, and the power System they could utilize was already pushing their limits. 0

In front of them stood their relatively young Vice Captain, who was being groomed to become the future captain. However, now he stood to the side because next to him was an elderly man, a sternly dressed old man. 0

"My young master, Old Jack finally sees you again! These days have been truly terrible; I wonder when you will come back to see us!" Old Jack's first words upon seeing Zheng Yifan were a stream of complaints. 0

There was no helping it; he understood Zheng Yifan's temperament. Usually approachable and easygoing, there wouldn't be any excessive behavior from him. Moreover, his current relationship with Zheng Yifan was not that of master and servant but rather one of recommendation. Once he introduced his son to Zheng Yifan, he would regain his status as a steward. 0

With different identities came different methods of doing things; he also needed to ensure his son fetched a good price! If things remained ordinary, it would be better to return and seek opportunities elsewhere. 0

However, the ones more emotional were the simple elderly couple behind Old Jack, who were watching Zheng Yifan with tears in their eyes. 0

In an instant, Zheng Yifan felt a lump in his throat. (To be continued.) 0
