How could Xyra be trampled to this extent? This was something Zheng Yifan simply could not comprehend. In his mind, Xyra's combat power was nearly on par with that of the Reaper, perhaps even superior, especially since he was currently fighting in the river. The main battlefield was right beside him.
Yet now, such a bizarre situation had arisen; the Old Turtle in the sea actually dared not show its head, which had completely surpassed Zheng Yifan's understanding.
Next, Zheng Yifan witnessed an eerie scene. Near In Calamity, a figure appeared, barely visible—a woman. He couldn't make out her features, but the pair of wings behind her was unmistakable. Unlike Zheng Yifan's wings, hers were a deep blue reminiscent of the World of Shibang. Even more terrifying was the weapon she held; it resembled a Bird's Bird Peck but measured over two meters long. It seemed that the Frozen Surface was being split apart by some force emanating from this Bird Peck.
If this were indeed a weapon, it could only be called the Water Piercer.
Zheng Yifan named the weapon as he gazed at the indistinct woman. He realized that Old Turtle Xyra wasn't afraid of the Reaper; although that fellow had decent combat power on land, he truly fell short in water.
This was Xyra's territory, and this woman was Xyra's nemesis. Looking at her wings, which allowed her to soar, and her weapon designed specifically for targeting aquatic creatures, it became clear.
He wondered where the Reaper had found such a perfect counter to Xyra.
It seemed that Old Turtle truly wanted to play the role of a cowardly turtle, hiding at the bottom of the water while the Reaper and that woman laughed and chatted.
No one noticed him.
Zheng Yifan felt it was his duty to make them aware of his presence and to lure that woman over. He would leave Old Turtle Xyra to handle things below; as long as that old buddy was around, the Reaper wouldn't dare stir up trouble on the Frozen Surface.
As for deterrence, with Zheng Yifan present, he would ensure that woman wouldn't have an easy time.
With this thought in mind, the Adamantium Shield began to rotate slowly. At an altitude of over two thousand meters, it stirred up fierce air currents as if a tornado were about to form.
The two below were engrossed in their conversation when they suddenly felt a Vital Energy Fluctuation above their heads. They didn't perceive any changes in rules because they weren't included within them; it was an intangible force. What they felt most acutely was the overwhelming sensation of Vital Energy being absorbed around their bodies.
It was as if a tornado made of Vital Energy had appeared in the sky, ready to engulf them.
Then they realized that this was truly happening. There really was a Tornado ready to engulf them without the slightest hesitation. Both of them prepared for battle, but the Fellow had no way to confront Zheng Yifan directly, as the altitude of over two thousand meters had become a trench, preventing him from facing Zheng Yifan at all, not even giving him a chance to clearly see Zheng Yifan's face.
At this moment, the war became a conflict between Zheng Yifan and that strange woman. Facing such a struggle, there was no mercy in Zheng Yifan’s heart. The long spear in his hand aimed downward. The Adamantium Shield had already been thrown out, like a raging tide.
The descending Tornado was purely formed from Vital Energy, sweeping everything in its path. Its power was astonishing.
This time, Zheng Yifan used his strongest means; he had to bring this to an end.
Xyra could not come out to fight against the Fellow. Everything needed to be resolved by Zheng Yifan himself; at the very least, he had to eliminate that woman. This was almost all of his conviction. The power was unprecedentedly fierce, and the Adamantium Shield gradually transformed into an ordinary Round Shield. There were none of those flashy powers left; even the Vital Energy and Tornado were slowly absorbed within it.
Others did not know, but Zheng Yifan understood that he currently had no precise control or prediction over his attack. He simply unleashed all his power without any technique; it was that pure.
So he had no idea what kind of consequences would arise.
However, now at an altitude of over two thousand meters, he was evidently satisfied with his strike because it carried almost all of his Vital Energy, forming the most ferocious attack. All the power converged together—not squandered but extremely restrained—concentrating the force within it. The attack would be pure, either in speed or in striking force.
Currently, the speed of the shield was not particularly swift, but its power began to reveal its true weight.
Zheng Yifan could feel it himself; the Adamantium Shield bore an unstoppable momentum and formidable pressure that made the two below feel unprecedented stress.
That pressure came from Zheng Yifan’s newly acquired strength.
“Zha!!” Suddenly, the Fellow below shouted loudly, unleashing true power. It was a force akin to the awakening of the earth itself, carrying supreme pressure. One could clearly see that after shouting, the Fellow violently spat out a mouthful of purple blood, and his face instantly turned pale.
Zheng Yifan knew that "Zha" was the first sound made when the earth awakened, containing the highest sacred might and serving as a nemesis to all evils and wrongs, possessing unmatched power.
He clearly regarded Zheng Yifan as a terrifying kind of bird, or something else entirely.
The power was immense, a force that could be considered greater than Vital Energy, fully condensed together, striking the Adamantium Shield in mid-air.
Instantly, ninety percent of the force above was dissipated.
The remaining ten percent was no longer a concern.
Zheng Yifan was surprised; it seemed that Jie cared deeply for this unknown woman, going to great lengths to protect her.
His attacks could not truly eliminate Jie; he was aware of that. Although he wanted to challenge Jie now, it was clear that he could not defeat this Fellow in just one attempt.
However, at this moment, Jie was evidently risking everything to stop him for the sake of this woman.
Zheng Yifan naturally saw the woman approaching. She had no way to evade. If she tried to run, it would be even more dangerous; they could only deal with Zheng Yifan in the air. They did not know what kind of monster awaited them up there, but they were human, and their speed could not compare to that of birds. Even if the woman had a pair of wings, it would be useless.
From Zheng Yifan's attack, it was clear that the assailant was not an unbeatable monster, so the woman had to come forward and confront him.
This played right into Zheng Yifan's new strategy; the Eidman Alloy Shield was aimed at that woman. Since there was no opportunity to continue gathering power, she still had to take this hit. Even if Jie mitigated some of its force, it would still be a very formidable attack. (To be continued...)
