At nine o'clock, Zheng Yifan quietly awaited the arrival of reinforcements. Since the request for support would arrive within two hours...
Probably. Zheng Yifan's reinforcements were coming from Australia, and they were even using an airdrop method to bring these people down.
They had only undergone brief airborne training before directly participating in the drop.
This was the fastest method, definitely much quicker than usual. If they had used naval transport, it would have taken too long.
"You are my apple..." The sound of ringing brought a smile to Zheng Yifan's face.
"Hello! Is this Boss?" The call signal came through, and Zheng Yifan felt very happy; this was definitely one of his subordinates.
With management talent on their way to support him, it was essential to restore some order first and then train these individuals.
"This is Zheng Yifan. What is your current location, and where will you be landing?" After asking, Zheng Yifan quietly assessed the surrounding zombies and noted that there were still zombies inside the building.
The zombies on the streets had been cleared out, and the Avatar of the Believers was gradually disappearing.
"The streets have been cleared; only the buildings may still contain zombies. You can land at any time, but please choose a landing spot on the street if possible. The New District is the most suitable." Zheng Yifan calculated in his mind and thought of the direction of the New District.
That area was a vast no-man's land that had been cleared out, making it convenient for operations. Moreover, since it was the New District, most of the wiring was underground, making it very safe in the air, unlike the Old Town Area where wires cluttered the entire city.
After Zheng Yifan finished speaking, all the airborne aircraft were already prepared. They were not ordinary people. Each one was armed and ready to fight at any moment—not just regular civilians.
Zheng Yifan could guarantee that these individuals could eliminate many ordinary people.
After receiving accurate information from Zheng Yifan, the planes had already set their target.
An hour and a half later, they would airdrop and deliver a batch of weapons and equipment to Zheng Yifan.
Initially, Zheng Yifan didn't care much about it, but Berry insisted on airdropping this batch of equipment. In the end, he couldn't refuse Berry's good intentions. After all, they were thinking of his well-being.
When Zheng Yifan answered the call, nearly everyone was worried about their lives because they had long received news about undergoing training, and now it was really happening.
Would training in this day and age resemble school? It was likely that they would be trained to handle submachine guns for shooting practice.
Almost everyone thought this way, their faces pale and filled with fear. They were terrified that Zheng Yifan would get his hands on a batch of weapons and force them to fight against the Zombies.
This was also the main difference between them and the people from Australia. In Australia, there was a strong emphasis on territorial awareness; illegal invasion of private property could lead to gunfire. In their own country, however, fights and brawls were treated differently—no matter who started it or who got hurt, the one who ended up injured would always be at a disadvantage.
This had led to a lot of cowardice among the people. Despite appearing tough on the surface, when it came down to facing the Zombies, they truly lacked the courage.
The policy of keeping the masses ignorant had faded away, but such subtle forms of control still persisted because they were more beneficial for management.
As a result, there were fewer true warriors left.
Their current fighting capability was negligible. They were not like the Chinese people Zheng Yifan had encountered in the Apocalyptic World. Those individuals were a pack of wolves! Two years of living in the apocalypse had taught them the harsh reality of survival.
Everyone's eyes gleamed with a predatory green; even a child would dare to kill.
"Everyone gather!" Suddenly, a loudspeaker blared out. The sound echoed throughout the building, resembling a fire alarm. There were speakers on every floor.
Zheng Yifan didn’t know what they used this for before, but now he found it quite convenient.
Everyone hurriedly put on their clothes and gathered their belongings before heading downstairs.
In half an hour, everyone had arrived with their luggage. Their faces were filled with anxiety as they wondered what Zheng Yifan was planning. Many guessed that they would meet their instructor.
Unfortunately, they were wrong; it wasn’t an instructor but a group of Administrators.
"Now follow me to the New District to meet your leaders. They will arrange your future lives and teach you much knowledge. Now! Go!" Zheng Yifan revved up the engine.
He was riding the motorcycle from the apocalypse. The roaring sound of the engine was far more exhilarating than that of an electric vehicle.
With a burst of speed, he took off on his motorcycle while the others organized themselves onto buses.
The test had begun; they were organized into groups with their own leaders. More importantly, many luxurious buses were already prepared nearby. They just needed to start their vehicles and follow behind.
Zheng Yifan understood clearly—the destination was New District.
While he didn’t know the exact location, they still had a general idea of where they were headed.
The car sped along, reaching the New District in just twenty minutes. Zheng Yifan could already hear the roar of the planes overhead; they were large aircraft that had arrived for air drops and parachute operations.
All of them were Military Aircraft, and the costs were naturally different. Among the personnel were ground crew members from the airport, who would restart operations to allow these planes to land.
The reason for their parachuting was that Berry had prepared a tough challenge for them, coupled with a survival-of-the-fittest mentality to create a tense atmosphere.
In the sky, preparations for parachuting began. Zheng Yifan had already arrived at the New District, while the younger recruits would likely take another ten minutes or so to arrive. This was enough time for some individuals to start their descent.
Parachuting wasn't simply about jumping out of the plane; one had to estimate the right moment to open the parachute and maintain proper distance between each person. However, since this wasn't a combat jump, there was plenty of time.
The first jumper had already appeared, and in the air, black dots could be seen falling from the back of the plane. If Zheng Yifan didn't have such good eyesight, he wouldn't have been able to spot them.
It was still too early for them to open their parachutes. Zheng Yifan could sense the fear of those individuals; after all, he had never experienced this himself—he could fly on his own.
After several minutes, he finally saw the first white mushroom-shaped canopy descending slowly; it belonged to the first person landing in the city.
Of course, there were also unfortunate souls who would drift across to the other side of the river.
But that was fine; that area was almost a no-man's land, and each person carried a Submachine Gun! (To be continued...)
